The initial purchasing experience with Dave was amazing! He is a great person to work with. What started being an issue was everything afterwards.

The first walk through took hours. I appreciate being walked through and informed of things, but it wasn’t very detailed. Then we rushed on issues with the house problems. When I would point out issues with the house there were a lot of excuses to why there was damage or it was normal. Not true! Not my first time purchasing houses and on top of that I come from a contractor family who owns their business in the bay.

The first walk through really opened my eyes to how many short cuts were taken and how the model homes are beautiful, but not the houses you buy standard. For such an expensive house that’s brand new I would expect more.

This should have been taken care of prior to the walk through. The house should have been inspected and fixed.

So we blue tape what felt like the entire house. From baseboards, broken titles, horrible caulking job, thin paint spray, stucco outside falling off, and wood house trim not matching.

Fast forward second and final walk through. I would expect these things to have been addressed and fixed. Literally maybe one or two things were addressed. The others were not. Then it was said to me “well you have a year.” I shouldn’t have to move in and be inconvenienced to have things fixed when it could have been solved prior to moving in. Also, things were short cornered by spot brushing and good off. My garage seal was damaged and instead of fixing it properly, Miguel shoved some pieces of rubber in it and called it good. Horrible! You should be selling houses like you want to be moving into it. If you can honestly say this, then carry on, but it’s my belief you would not. People work hard for their money and when they purchase an expensive house they expect quality and good customer service.

Now we’ve lived in the house for a few weeks. Doors don’t close properly, lights don’t work, baseboard still isn’t fixed, trim in the kitchen coming off, caulking never addressed in the bathroom, oh and let’s not forget the major shortcut taken of the backyard not properly installed to drain to the front!

I’ll also, put this here. Shane is absolutely a disrespectful employee and needs an attitude check. The final walk through I was walking up to the garage with toilet paper as one the walk throughs are long and there’s no where to pee. I had also just rent given birth and stay hydrated for my baby, so I pee even more. He asked me condescending if I was ready to move in. Silly question, but I responded yes. He then proceeded to tell me the house was his and I wasn’t allowed to bring toilet paper into the house. I explained my reason and he continued to tell me it wasn’t allowed and he wasn’t kidding. I literally couldn’t understand the attitude and unprofessional demeanor. It wasn’t as if I brought a car full of items to move in. It was just toilet paper. I believe his name was Jesse, he even seemed shocked and apologized for Shane.

I am disappointed with quality of construction and lack of adequate supervision during construction of JMC homes. Multiple construction defects were identified, including a plumbing issue that caused damage, indicating insufficient quality control.
Communication during the repair process was limited and repairs began without clear written documentation of findings, scope of work or next steps. This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
To make this right, improved construction oversight is expected, clear and timely communication, detailed written documentation of all repairs and confirmation that all work meets applicable building codes and quality of standards.

JMC Homes had good quality and a good price.

Why JMC Homes? - The main reasons why we went with JMC Homes are that they have good incentives, and a lot of things were add-ons for other companies, but were included in the base project with JMC Homes.

The paint is not consistent in the home even after paying 1.1 Mil Dollars for the Home. I bought this home though referral but i would not recommend this home until they plan to make those fixes.

Quality build

Overall good home, pretty good value, and really great people and representatives. The pricing—particularly as it relates to incentives—seemed a bit misleading.

While we found that JMC Homes made the home buying process feel rather easy, we are currently experiencing some small issues in the home that we bought that I believe should not be occurring in a new model home purchase.

Debbie was great, she did more to help us, not just as a client, she treat us like her own family.

The last new home we purchased was 45 years ago and I am sure a lot has changed so I have nothing to compare to. I don’t know how much of our experience was standard process in the industry but regardless I was very impressed with each JMC employee we encountered.

Various issues with the home should have been resolved prior to us moving in (e.g., concrete cracked or missing in front of the home, the home street light didn't work - wiring not connected, poor paint jobs, and a host of other issues).

My new home is beautiful and the builder incentives were unbeatable!

My current group of friends are not interested in housing yet and those that are already own a home.

The builder is taking shortcut in achieving safety standards. For example, leaving a big gap under the garage service door instead of providing the proper ventilation for the garage. Complaint but was disregarded.

The quality is not satisfactory. The backyard screen door is already out of place and is missing a part, the sprinkler cover came out by itself without any reason, the smoke detector came out of place by itself without any reason. The a/c unit didn’t work and had to reach out to a subcontractor to fix it. It took him 4 trips to fix the problem and he mentioned it was not done correc originally by the builder.

The initial sales team is knowledgeable and easy to work with, also prompt with their replies. The “superintendent” and customer care representatives that are to ensure the quality, integrity, and service of the newly purchased home of issues would be addressed but it was clear during walkthrough not to bother the superintendent. During my first walk through there were still issues that were marked and haven’t been addressed, the reply I received was you still have your 30 day to address the same issues.The walkthrough representative was helpful and advocated for the items to be fixed but seems to be at the mercy of the contractors. There was a large hole between the kitchen cabinets and the “patch” was to nail a random wood plank. This is one (if not the biggest) major purchase for an individual and to treat the quality and service for a newly purchased home like buying product at a second hand thrift store is disheartening. Most of the JMC staff are overall courteous,and professional as a consumer the message being relayed is the compromise to save the company money by side stepping service and quality.

They were very good at selling the home, and pressuring me to use their preferred lender. I had everything in order, but still cost almost $6,000 because I was mislead on information. The selling agent was great, but behind the scenes, even after closing, they needed to come look at some things. They keep pushing me back and/or don't show up when they saying they're going to show up. I was supposed to have 30-day walk through after close, but they told me basically I'm not eligible for that anymore. I can't get ahold of anyone. It was just a tough experience. During the initial process, I came to look at home, and Lance told me to leave and I couldn't be there to look while it was being built. I didn't know, so it was my fault, but he could've been nicer about it. When I escalated it to management, they told me he's not a people person. They could've handled it differently.

I will recommend JMC but I was not happy with the quality of certain products which was not similar to the depicted models

Favorite Feature - It is ours. I wake up every single day and I tell my husband that I absolutely love our house. We love it so much, you step out and everyone is always smiling and waving. We love everything about it.
