JMC homes checked all the boxes of what we were wanting from our “forever home” and we would recommend them to anyone looking

My family and I have owned a JMC home in the past, I have always admired the quality of the home and strong reputation of the builder.

Even thought we had a great experience purchasing this home, we don't think we would recommend JMC with ORT on Rocky Ridge Dr. Please see number 19 below.

Still having issues with noise in the water lines.

So very please with the entire process. Everyone has been extremely helpful & thoughtful. We love our new home. From the floor plan, to the design, features we didn’t anticipate and especially the staff.

We weren’t told until after closing that they considered this to be a model home, so the warranties weren’t included. That’s what brought our rating down.

The home buying process was seamless and enjoyable. Everyone step of the way was clearly communicated and easy to understand.

JMC Homes didn't include a refrigerator. That's a problem. Also, they give you a $10,000 credit if you use their lender, but if you don't use your lender, which I wasn't able to because I own a lot of homes, they give you nothing. I had to go get my own lender. They gave me nothing. That's not right.

Yes, I really like the quality of JMC's homes and how they build them.

The purchasing process was easy and all involved were friendly. The house is well built and designed.

They are cutting corners on everything. You pay more for a JMC homes but you are now getting less. I would have bought a cheaper home if I had known that they come up with excuses not to fix the problems and lie about city codes that don't exsist.

I have been wanting to purchase a JMC home a while ago because of the designs that caught my eyes. I had owned Lenna, Richmond and US homes before. Today I have an opportunity and purchased one at Overland community and within reasonable distance from work, even though it's a bit further out more where I lived before. Anyway, I want to let JMC know that, the initial quality workmanship is very bad. First and second walk thru as well as living just a few days, we have found quite a bit flaws that should have been caught by the installers themselves and the quality controllers: mismatched scheme of kitchen island cabinet as well as damaged bottom right corner of kitchen cabinet (installer patched it with some type of caulking material instead of replace it), heavily scratch at the far left patio glass, a few others flaws outside the house. All of the above mentioned flaws were found during the walk thru. After a few days of moving in, we found the master bathroom shower door was improperly installed, causing door very hard to open and close. It gets to the point I have to remove the bottom seal off because I am afraid it will rip the door off. Door was installed upside down due to the opening of the shower door was built not even square. Therefore, the door was cut tailor to the shape of the opening of walking shower which is the top opening is wider than the bottom, and the bottom was also cut angling to compensate the unlevel bottom of the opening. I felt a lot of resistance opening and closing the door at walk thru but I thought maybe it is new and the bottom water seal needs break in after a few showers. But it got worse. The second bathroom shower slide doors were very flimsy, incorrect slide door position (position was set that the toilet is in the way of getting in and out of the shower, and the inside handle was positioning wrong as well). The microwave was inoperative the very first used, stopped working and displayed a trouble code on the display panel C-dl code (I looked it up and found this trouble code is door lock malfunction). I stopped it, and redo it again and it did the same thing at least 3 times. Then I unplugged it off the wall for 5 minutes and plugged it back still doing the same thing. I unplugged it for an hour this time. And it worked for that evening heating a few things. Next day, it worked for a couple of time and did it again. All this happened in the evening time. After all that, it started to work intermittently. Some time it works the whole day no problem and then next day it does it. I turned the locking feature off by press and hold for 3 seconds the door lock button. And it works and it will default back to on. I contacted Samsung and they sent two techs out in the morning around 8 o'clock. And of course, it did not acting up for them. I showed them the video that I recorded but they did not want to do anything to solve the problem. It clearly having a door lock feature malfunction and putting out a trouble code. I told them they need to look that code up and perform the repair following that code. They refused it and walked away. We had a heated moment that day. This is the customer service that I got from Samsung. I wonder what will happen later on if other Samsung products warranty would be. I called Connor and have him involved with this. And he contacted the installers and its been 3 days now no answers from the installers. I contacted Samsung again and they said they will send techs out again this Friday. Let's see what happens. Well, the Enclosure company sent out a tech that fixed the master shower door. He can't fix the second bathroom shower slide door due to a bad design of shower head location (if shower head was located at the opposite of where it was at it would have been no problem. In order to have the slide doors position correctly, I have to deal with water leak every time showering. The kitchen island cabinet was fixed. The patio window glass, Jon ordered is here he told me and will schedue for replacement. I also found some other issues but they are non emergency that I will address them at my 30 day check up appointment.

Great home. Only improvement would be more willingness to work with buyer on having an inspector qualified to inspect roof and HVAC prior to purchase. You guys are the only builder I know that makes this difficult.

Quality construction and design layout. Not “cookie cutter” appearing as other new builds are. Staff was very helpful as well.

There are no serious defects but my wife is disappointed about the paint job. There are several areas where the paint is bubbling, has tiny holes, is excessive (trim: shelf mounts, door handle areas) and others were it is lacking. Almost all the corners of my doors look like it is peeling.

I liked how interconnected the process was. Sales rep, lender, title company were all in constant communication which made the process seamless. This also helped us close in less than 40 days.

We found JMC Homes, and the quality was superior to the other homes we looked at and we definitely like the package because you didn't have to pay for a lot of upgrades that we were looking at from other builders.

I like that JMC offers all the upgrades as a standard build in their homes, even including solar. One price shopping is a great feature!

I am not happy with some of the materials used, but in general it was good.

Compared to other builders in the area JMC seems to have a lower level of service and work done by some of 3rd party trades and the responsiveness/ promptness could be better on the customer service rep after purchase. Although it is emphasized during purchase that a new owner will have the opportunity to identify fixes and JMC be there to complete - there is an internal issues in timely completion.

Did not appreciate how difficult it was to do a home inspection for closing. I felt like I had no rights as a buyer. Ultimately a home inspector was selected, but was told that they did not have enough insurance coverage. I purchased new construction before from Village Builders (a Lennar Company) in Houston and compared my experience with that company.

I’m satisfied the repair is not needed yet.

The initial purchasing experience with Dave was amazing! He is a great person to work with. What started being an issue was everything afterwards.

The first walk through took hours. I appreciate being walked through and informed of things, but it wasn’t very detailed. Then we rushed on issues with the house problems. When I would point out issues with the house there were a lot of excuses to why there was damage or it was normal. Not true! Not my first time purchasing houses and on top of that I come from a contractor family who owns their business in the bay.

The first walk through really opened my eyes to how many short cuts were taken and how the model homes are beautiful, but not the houses you buy standard. For such an expensive house that’s brand new I would expect more.

This should have been taken care of prior to the walk through. The house should have been inspected and fixed.

So we blue tape what felt like the entire house. From baseboards, broken titles, horrible caulking job, thin paint spray, stucco outside falling off, and wood house trim not matching.

Fast forward second and final walk through. I would expect these things to have been addressed and fixed. Literally maybe one or two things were addressed. The others were not. Then it was said to me “well you have a year.” I shouldn’t have to move in and be inconvenienced to have things fixed when it could have been solved prior to moving in. Also, things were short cornered by spot brushing and good off. My garage seal was damaged and instead of fixing it properly, Miguel shoved some pieces of rubber in it and called it good. Horrible! You should be selling houses like you want to be moving into it. If you can honestly say this, then carry on, but it’s my belief you would not. People work hard for their money and when they purchase an expensive house they expect quality and good customer service.

Now we’ve lived in the house for a few weeks. Doors don’t close properly, lights don’t work, baseboard still isn’t fixed, trim in the kitchen coming off, caulking never addressed in the bathroom, oh and let’s not forget the major shortcut taken of the backyard not properly installed to drain to the front!

I’ll also, put this here. Shane is absolutely a disrespectful employee and needs an attitude check. The final walk through I was walking up to the garage with toilet paper as one the walk throughs are long and there’s no where to pee. I had also just rent given birth and stay hydrated for my baby, so I pee even more. He asked me condescending if I was ready to move in. Silly question, but I responded yes. He then proceeded to tell me the house was his and I wasn’t allowed to bring toilet paper into the house. I explained my reason and he continued to tell me it wasn’t allowed and he wasn’t kidding. I literally couldn’t understand the attitude and unprofessional demeanor. It wasn’t as if I brought a car full of items to move in. It was just toilet paper. I believe his name was Jesse, he even seemed shocked and apologized for Shane.

I am disappointed with quality of construction and lack of adequate supervision during construction of JMC homes. Multiple construction defects were identified, including a plumbing issue that caused damage, indicating insufficient quality control.
Communication during the repair process was limited and repairs began without clear written documentation of findings, scope of work or next steps. This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
To make this right, improved construction oversight is expected, clear and timely communication, detailed written documentation of all repairs and confirmation that all work meets applicable building codes and quality of standards.

JMC Homes had good quality and a good price.

Why JMC Homes? - The main reasons why we went with JMC Homes are that they have good incentives, and a lot of things were add-ons for other companies, but were included in the base project with JMC Homes.

The paint is not consistent in the home even after paying 1.1 Mil Dollars for the Home. I bought this home though referral but i would not recommend this home until they plan to make those fixes.

Why JMC Homes? - After looking around at new houses, I felt that JMC had the best product and the best construction and offered a lot of amenities. And I absolutely love the outdoor covered patio. That was a big selling point for me.

Quality build

Overall good home, pretty good value, and really great people and representatives. The pricing—particularly as it relates to incentives—seemed a bit misleading.

While we found that JMC Homes made the home buying process feel rather easy, we are currently experiencing some small issues in the home that we bought that I believe should not be occurring in a new model home purchase.

It was a smooth experience in purchasing a home and their homes are nicely built
