Having purchased multiple new home builds over the years, I have found that the overall sales, qualify, and post-sales processes are very robust. Would not think twice about recommending JMC to a friend.
The problem is, when the sale ends, things change. We were to do steps to the house to go with the degree of the driveway. There is a house across the street with the same degree driveway, and it has steps, we do not, and now we have cracks. It is difficult to update anything, and when you pay JMC to conduct the changes, they arrive and declare they are unable to do so. I had a concern with how wide the fireplace wall was. They said they could make the wall longer, and now they say they cannot do it.
The builder did not give us time to see the house. We saw the house three times throughout it being built.
The house is good. More than we expected. The neighborhood is great.
I think that the building of the homes and the neighborhood are very nice. It's a nice place to buy and live. It's peaceful as far as I know and I appreciate that.
Why JMC Homes? - The main reason why I chose JMC Homes was because I really like their construction, floor plan and also the features of our new home.
Quality built home by a reputable family owned business who really cares about their home owners! Sales staff is amazing too! Not pushy and very knowledgeable.
There are a lot of issues with the house, it's a lot to do with the workmanship.
Quality home
They have been very helpful, and one of my friends has gotten a house too, so I am happy.
Their builds are good.
JMC home feels like plain "vanilla" style with some default upgrades which were also very "set" and couldn't be adjusted. There were no options for energy efficiency upgrades like whole house insulation or garage wall insulation and garage door insulation. The outside looks and appeal could be improved by adding simple things like trims around the windows which look like 60s and 70s style windows flush with the outer wall. Lack of option for basic backyard readiness or even backyard drainage was a shock after I saw my ready home - which didn't feel ready at all.
JMC home and plan have improved a lot. The way JMC use space is efficient and they listen to local customers’s need (e.g. lots of storage and garage spaces).
Do not recommend unless there is no other option. Poor layout homes that maximize lot sizes and # rooms. Poor QA process. Incompetent construction crew. Builder makes mistakes and holds buyer responsible.
JMC Homes has been very responsive. The folks that I've been in contact with have been incredibly respectful. Mario and Isaac have been awesome. Having said that, I have two ongoing issues that haven't been addressed to my satisfaction, which I will address below.
I am not really sure If I can recommend JMC Homes
Sales Professionalism - Debbie was absolutely courteous and professional, and she responded to my requests in a timely manner.
The purchase is fine. The issue is getting them to fix what they state they will fix during the walkthrough. It is frustrating.
JMC homes are beautiful and built with great quality.
Everything is thought through and it all looks so nice.
Their post sales team is great and customers are valued by their customer care team.
Great experience through the process of purchase, walkthrough, closing.
I'd definitely buy from them again and would recommend to others looking for a beautiful home!
Be aware of the size of the houses around you before making a decision on your purchase especially if you are buying an one story house..
Why JMC Homes? - The main reason I chose to buy a JMC Home is the quality of workmanship.
Improve Design - I cannot think of anything JMC Homes could do to improve the design of the home. We love our floor plan.
I immediately fell in love with the appearance of JMC homes and had a wonderful experience throughout the build out process. I would recommend the builder to any friend.
It is a very quick and easy buying process. It is so much easier than buying a homeowner's re-sale. I would recommend having an independent home inspection done, which I did.
This is a hard question for me to answer at this time as not all of the walkthrough items have been addressed. Please refer to my answer in #16 as having my back fence replaced, or not, will significantly impact whether I would recommend JMC or if I would purchase a new JMC home in the future.
overall, given all that goes into a new house build we are very pleased with our home.
Favorite Feature - I know they're still building, but I like that it's a nice and quiet community. It's got all the stuff I need in a house. I got it all. I like that they had the options I needed at the price I needed. I like that they had a variety, and this one worked best for me. They planned their community to be around so many things, like nice grocery stores and parks, and it's accessible. I can take my dog to the trails, and there's a variety of stores nearby. They planned the community really well. They seem to be selling to good people because my neighbors are really quiet. It seems like a lot of us work from home, and we all just want to be left alone. I haven't been living here long. I've been here about a week, so I can't give you full answers.
