We had a bit of a mixed experience. The salesperson seemed great, but set some unrealistic expectations as far as when the project would begin. All of this was prior to when he left the company abruptly. From there we began working with Steven, who is fantastic! If he were our project manager, then I'm certain we would be able to rate our experience as five star. Unfortunately, we were given another gentleman who was kind and a great person, but left us feeling like we were managing our own project. We had to point out obvious mistakes and follow up numerous times on things that should have been his to do, not ours. It felt like he wanted the job to be done quickly not correctly. Luckily, Steven checked in often and saw that fixes were made. Now that the job is done, we're pretty satisfied with the work.

CHE did the work to my home that met my expectations. I would recommend this company for exterior siding work. Anything that was not done correctly or to my expectations was fixed with no hesitation. They were reasonably priced and I plan on using them for other projects in the future.

Stephen Hawkins just happened to be at my home, checking on a warranty call for work I had done about 9 years ago. We were talking about exterior work in general and I told Stephen I was interested in some new work on my house like siding and windows. Just so happens that Stephen had a window sample in his truck and we went from there to get a complete estimate. I received several other estimates and while the CHE estimate was good, what really pushed me over the edge to select them was my past experiences. While some of the 9 year previous work I had done wasn't actually the smoothest experience, the quick response and effort to correct any and all issues I had was much appreciated and obviously remembered. Choosing CHE for my latest project was an easy decision as the price was fair and I knew exactly the type company I was getting which eased my mind. As of today my current project is nearly done and my wife and I just couldn't be happier with our new windows, siding, paint and gutters. Stephen Hawkins and Sean Sizemore made sure we were happy throughout the project and I will spread the word appropriately. I'm also currently waiting on a new estimate from Stephen for yet another project we have. Once again - knowing in advance what I will receive goes a long way towards a good relationship and good end result in my opinion. I also need to mention all the different crews that worked on our house. ALL of them were exceptionally friendly and professional with very good communication. Being a former manager of people it is entirely clear to me that these people are happy with their positions and what they do for CHE. It isn't easy to get that from people that do work for you and yet it was very clear with standards being followed at all times. Much appreciated!

My home was in need of some extensive improvements - new siding and trim, a new front porch, energy efficient replacement windows and doors, and new gutters. After talking with a few contractors at the Raleigh Home Show, I selected CHE due to their competitive pricing and eagerness to win my business. Overall, I am pleased with the results but I wasn't pleased with all aspects of the journey taken to get to those results. Delays and some unexpected issues were encountered in the handling of the replacement window order and there were some issues related to cleanliness of the job site during and after completion of the project. In addition, I feel CHE could have done a better job of preparing me what to expect while the project was underway. However, given the significant size of this project, I feel that CHE did a very good job and the team willingly and effectively answered all of my questions and addressed any dissatisfaction I experienced along the way. Based on my overall experience, I wouldn't hesitate to hire CHE in the future.

Instead of trying to get me to do thing their way as most contractors do, they listened and responded to my every request. This could give customer service a good name.

From the original estimate through the end of the process, everything was well done. It was great working with the estimator and project manager. I was unable to be onsite during construction which worried me at times but there was nothing to worry about. I went on vacation and when I came back the house was done properly from clean up to finish. Everything they said they would do they did it. They came back and addressed some touch ups immediately and on financing, you could not ask for better.

It is an MI home and they are the subcontractor for MI Homes so I have seen their work for about a year and a half and I have always been very impressed. I'm retired so I have time to watch these guys work on other homes and I didn't know the company but I knew their work was excellent so I contacted the manager of the site and that is how I got their name. They even went out of their way because they worked on my lake house in Roxboro which is an hour away from Raleigh. Anything I had them address as far as a punchlist they came and took care of right away. I have never seen a subcontractor with consciousness that they applied from start to finish.

Areas For Improvement - I really can't think of one. I don't live there all of the time so I didn't even see them work so that was very impressive. This house we had sided is basically a log house. The first level is logs and the second is siding construction and they even came up with solutions because some of the logs were rotting. They decided to reside the whole thing with plywood, wrap it, and then side over that. That made it air tight. It is unbelievable. It is a 25 year old house that looks like it was built yesterday. It is just amazing.

We have no regrets now because we got to see everything before making our decision. We really liked the people who worked on the job. Everybody was very respectful, polite, and happy.
