The exterior of the house was not completed to let the General Contractor trim the windows and the seal wasn’t done properly.
I have tried to add a modification (add grids to a window, but despite one of the people here in portland contacting a person no body has attempted to contact me. The job was done very well but If I cant get a simple thing as finding out it it is possible and the cost of adding a grid, what would the service be if i needed to discuss a warranty problem.
Two year process to get our order correct. We purchased 6 windows and a patio door. They made the windows 4 times and the door twice. Huge waste of resources and then they throw the defective windows out. The windows are subpar and show ware in less then 2 months. Construction done by children in a redneck state
Absolutely great price and they really did a good job. I am happy with the windows. They have a little bit of a green tint to them so you can't see in my home which I absolutely love.
No ID on workers, safety issue. Two screens damaged on delivery/install
expensive, but seem to be worth the expense
I had my siding done and it looks great.
Frankly. I fell like 10,000 is probably too much for 4 small windows.. considering it was 50% off that is like a regular price of 5,000 each.. I should have shopped around.
They do a nice job and the quality of the windows.
Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and helpful. They were focused on my requirements and satisfaction.
Wrong window and another window broke within 24 hours. It's been 8 weeks and still no replacements. Quality failures should be a priority in the factory.
The whole experience on the windows has been terrific. From getting the bid from Jason, talking to Brittney and Jenny on the phone, and Max on the install. Great teamwork!
It has been a horrible experience. I was lied to from the start and then ignored when I had problems with the process.
Their professionalism, working with me on payment expectations, quality of the installers and of the windows.
After promising to install the Windows in 10 weeks, It took 6 months to install
Very expensive. I would recommend but tell them to get a second quote before they decide.
No We were told we would receive a tightly mesh screen and were shown this screen and it was demonstrated to us by the salesman by putting an ink pen through the screen causing a hole. He then rubbed the screen and the hole disappeared.. leaving the screen as it was before he punctured it. The screen in the windows is not the screen we were told we would have in our windows. The screens were
One of the reasons we purchased the windows.
Because of our dissatisfaction with James and the way he treated us we would not be recommending Champion Windows. The installers were extremely good
It was recommended I get 3-pane windows, because they are the best. No one told me how heavy they were and I spent too much money for a sliding glass door that I can hardly move because it is so heavy. Champion refused to change out the sliding glass door to double pane glass so, at 72 years old, I will have to continue struggling with this until I sell the house or die. Also, I replaced a window and again paid for triple pane glass. I got one window pane at triple pane glass, the other is double pane glass. Again, Champion refused replacement. I will never buy another window - and I have about 20 to replace - from Champion.
Our house is a lot cooler, heat pump cycles less, PGE bill is lower.
Great customer service.
Very professional and friendly. Came when they said and finished in a timely manner. All together very satisfied except for the loan company that they use.
They have cut down on a lot of the road noise. Waiting to see about the heat bill
Compared to other windows and the hardware, i would say there hardware on the sliding glass door screens are cheap. Keep falling off and the window screens are hard to close
They took an extremely long time to get, and little to no communicating updates without my initiating it.
Too soon...
1 suggestion. Take homeowner to a window and show them where the frame will come on the windowsill. We were suprised.
We are satisfied with the quality of Champion windows and will return in the future to get them again for the rest of our windows
Chalking done on the exterior sliding glass door was sloppy and left gaps, does not look professional
I simply do not make recommendations.
After our experience it woukd be difficult for us to recommend
everything went smoothly and on time
Long wait for my windows and doors, and not enough communication from the company on the timing of the orders. Hard to reach people to get an answer on issues with the installed windows.
From start to finish, this was one of the best installs we have had. Everyone from sales to install was courteous and prompt. I like that I received calls to let me know each step of progress
The windows are wonderful. We have been here a long time and we had old windows. We got rid of those and got these. These are great. We still need more windows.
Have already recommended to some friends
We signed a contract for new siding in March 2022 with the understanding that we would need to wait 5 months for the install. We agreed and applied for financing to pay for the job. Paid 50% up front and waited. 5 months passed with no communication from them. Then 8 months. My messages to them went unanswered. Then 10 months went by. Finally heard from someone who told us we could expect a scheduling call in January 2023. We got a call in February 2023 and were told they could come within the hour to install. When they arrived, they started working immediately and hours later, we noticed they were installing the wrong siding. We eventually learned that the siding we had wanted a year earlier never actually existed and we were unwittingly sold a complete different shape and style of siding. At that point, we were $7,000+ in the hole and our old siding had already been removed, so we had no choice but to select something from their catalog. They then tried to charge us an additional $3,000+ for it. The only reason they even followed through with the job without the additional charge was because we filed a notice of intent to file a complaint with the city. We literally had to threaten accountability for them to do the right thing. Once the job was finally done, we felt such relief and thought the stress was over. But no.
Last week, we learned that, because of how long it took for the project to be completed, our $23,000 worth of financing had expired and we suddenly had to find $8,000 to pay for our remaining balance. With no other option, we had to sign onto a considerably higher-cost financing option in order to pay them. We are now in a precarious financial situation that could have been avoided.
Ultimately, had we known that the siding we originally had wanted on Day 1 didn't exist, we never would have made a purchase with them in March 2022. Working with Champion and being subject to their unprofessionalism will cost us more than $20,000. We have made sure that everyone we know, including our neighbors, knows about this so they never make the same mistake we did.
That would depend on what the person is looking for.
The subcontractors are unprofessional, don't show up on time, and do really bad work.
The window is great, but their installation crew needs more skilled workers. It took almost a year to complete the installation to my satisfaction. The first two attempts were seriously lacking.
Put down payment on window and door replacements. Was told it would be 3 months, it took nearly 9 months. What kind of deal is that? The window was supposed to have grids but did not. We were told they could make another one if we were willing to wait (NO). Was ask to accept a $200 gift card in lieu of grids. We were so discussed with working with Champion!
Finance area kept getting balance due wrong
Champion Windows of Portland was very professional. They were always on time. They did exactly what I wanted.
The windows are great and the installation crew was good, however, the communication between our install manager and the rest of the team, including us, was lacking.
There were just a couple of things that were done differently than we were told they would be done at the beginning. All in all, the windows turned out pretty well.
I have never had a poorer experience in my life.
My windows were installed in October. Two folks from Champion have come out since and said that the caulking needs to be redone for the interior and exterior of the windows. I’m still awaiting this fix
It felt like once I had paid, nobody care enough to help with very basic questions or needs. I had to call multiple times to get someone been to finish, unfinished work and get the required paperwork for rebates
Champion lacks basic professional standards expected for this industry. Missed deadlines, no ability to contact anyone, low quality installation standards.
My order was lost twice, and it took a year before my windows got installed.
