When we first approached Pioneer, we didn't know exactly what we wanted, just that we had a need. We now have a wonderful addition on our house that is the perfect transition from our backyard oasis into our house, a three (or maybe four) season room that offers protection from the elements while still letting you feel connected to the outside. Right from the start, Pioneer made us feel that we were part of the design process and with their knowledge and guidance, we were able to easily evaluate options and make well informed design decisions. They managed construction within an area that was extensively landscaped and took care to reduce the risk of damage. The on-site staff were highly skilled who took obvious pride in their craft. They were a pleasure to work with, communicating with us daily and respecting that their work area was our home. We are excited about our new addition and we are extremely pleased with the process of having it built.

We purchased our house after falling in love with the neighbourhood and the charm of our lot and house. Overall we are pleased with the renovation but there were problems when we moved back in that should have been addressed beforehand. Coming home to leaking sinks and outlets that did not work was not a good experience and affected our opinion of the work and the subcontractors that were hired.

When the schedule was impacted by the delivery of goods, it was clearly communicated ahead of time. That was nice. We did a bathroom, and we were concerned about the quality of the tiling. We've had poor experiences in the past, so we were concerned about the finish detail on the tiling work. Their subcontractor did a fantastic job. We were concerned about transitions and thresholds with the renovations and the old spaces, but they did a good job. We didn't have any requests for changes, so we didn't have to have any uncomfortable conversations. They did great with the finishing details.

Why You Chose Us - At the time we were looking for contractors, they were responsive when a lot of others declined our project or just didn't respond, so that was important. We wanted someone who would be responsive. It's very fundamental and not always the case. They put together a really good proposal. They weren't the lowest in cost, but the information and recommendations gave us confidence that they would execute the project with fewer problems than others. We had confidence in them, and they lived up to our expectations. This is why we chose to work with Pioneer Craftsmen.

Schedule - The week before our construction began, the Pioneer team gave us a Gantt chart showing the initial plan for when each step of our very large reno would happen. We all expected that some things would end up changing, but they planned so well and worked to keep things on track. The project ended up being completed on schedule. So many people said to us, upon hearing that we were renovating, that we should be prepared for it to last twice as long and cost twice as much. Pioneer kept it on time and on budget.
