We have heard horror stories about friends' experiences with other contractors. This was our first remodel, so we were nervous at the beginning. However, Pathway never let us down, and we will gladly recommend Pathway to friends.
We had weekly meetings with Alex, and all of our concerns and questions were fully addressed.
An asbestos issue arose unexpectedly in the middle of our project. Pathway efficiently addressed this issue and kept our project on schedule.
Everyone who works for Pathway was unfailingly professional and courteous.
Pathway set up dust/dirt containment barriers and cleaned up so well that we were able to live in during the remodel.
In almost every area! Alex went out of his way to address all of our concerns. He always communicated patiently and clearly, did his own construction work to a very high standard, and generously helped us with other problems that arose during construction. After unusually heavy rain, water seeped into a basement room near where a new electrical panel was being installed as part of our project. (The electrical panel was not the source of the leak.) Alex and Mike kindly assisted us with drying out the basement and helped diagnose the external source of the water.
We are so happy with our choice of Pathway for our kitchen/powder room remodel! Everyone helped make this daunting experience so much easier than anticipated. We had heard horror stories from others about the woes, hassles and regrets of remodeling. We had none of these, and any problems encountered were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. We would trust Pathway with any future projects and confidently recommend Pathway.
From start to finish Pathway made our 4 month project stress free and fun. Paul and his entire team were professional, reliable, accountable, and true craftsmen.
Pathway uses a website called Buildertrend. It tracks the project schedule, change orders, invoices, and selections. It provided great communication but the entire team was also just a text or phone call away.
Alex, our lead carpenter, was extremely organized and kept everything on track. Mike, our project manager off site, made sure everything was ordered and on time. Both were great to work with.
Our schedule changed a couple of times through out the project at no fault to Pathway. In the end we moved back into our house only 1 week later than originally planned.
I can't say enough about the Pathway team. I was blown away by their professionalism and respect for our things.
At the end of each day the entire work area was cleaned up. You could actually walk through the site and not feel like you were walking through a construction zone, even during demo.
Alex and Steve provided us with the highest quality of workmanship. They both are true craftsmen.
Pathway exceeded our expectations in all areas of the project. We had heard so many negative stories from family and friends on their remodel projects. They should have worked with Pathway. We just never experienced anything negative through out the entire project.
I can not recommend Pathway enough. We can't wait to start phase 2 with them.
Pathway was very open, collaborative, and professional with us. In particular, they did a wonderful job keeping us up to date on the status of the project, being transparent and honest when there were unexpected surprises, and helping us navigate the overall renovation and letting us know what to expect. We are very happy that we partnered with Pathway for this project, and love the end results.
We had an excellent experience working with Pathway for our two story addition in Mt. Baker. First of all, our house is BEAUTIFUL. We could not have asked for a better finished product. Everyone at Pathway was responsive, helpful, kind, and had amazing attention to detail. We would highly recommend this company for any project, large or small. Plus, they finished on-time and UNDER BUDGET. Basically a miracle.
We really appreciated the communication from Tina, Paul, Mike, and Alex. It was very helpful to have an easy way to contact everyone involved in the project and to receive messages back in such a timely manner.
I'm amazed at how close we came to the budget. Truly incredible.
We had such an excellent experience with everyone we worked with at Pathway. Not only professional and courteous but also thoughtful and helpful through the whole project.
I was always so impressed with the cleanliness of the job site when we visited.
We were most satisfied by the communication and suggestions during the project, and we are ultimately the most satisfied with our finished product. We love our home and we're so happy we chose Pathway.
We also really appreciated our relationship with Alex. It made a huge difference to have someone we trust at the house every day, managing the daily work and the subcontractors who were coming through. It gave us peace of mind and was very comforting to know that Alex's attention to detail and considerable talent were managing the project.
I was out of town when the work was being done but the kept in communication with me about the progress of the work. When there was a small issue about the layout of the tile it was quickly solved.
Had a wonderful experience working with Pathway and all their subcontractors. Everyone was very professional and courteous, took time to answer all my questions and address any concerns I had. I would feel very confident about recommending Pathway Design and Construction to all my friends and family. They were a joy to work with.
I am very happy with the professionalism of all the workers and thought that Pathway did a wonderful job of keeping me informed through the process. This was my first renovation job and it was a pleasant experience. I feel confident in recommending Pathway to friends and family and will definitely think of them for any future renovations.
The year-long project truly felt like a partnership. It didn't feel like they were talking down to us or keeping anything from us. They never hesitated in answering our questions, big or small. They involved us in decision-making and explained their choices. They helped us do portions of the project ourselves. We were also very impressed with how respectfully they worked in such close quarters with our neighbors, and with us who were living on-site during the project.
After having several remodels on my home by a different contractor who retired, I gave Pathway Design & Construction a try when I needed my kitchen and deck remodeled. The overall experience with Pathway was outstanding. They were extremely receptive of my feedback and went out their way to resolve any issue that I brought to their attention. The quality of their work and craftsmanship was excellent. There was always good communication from the initial planning stages to the final project review. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
Very professional, considerate and conscientious.
Truly a company of craftspeople.
communication and quick response to inquiries or concerns.
I was very impressed by a letter they took around to my neighbors explaining that there would be a project going on, apologizing in advance for any inconveniences and giving a contact number if they had any problems or concerns.I was also impressed with the binder I received at the end containing product maintenance information and warrantees so that I can have it all in one place for this project.
My husband and I were very happy with Pathway. They put a lot of effort up front into defining our scope, helping us to understand a realistic budget, and recommending helpful changes to reduce our cost. They were terrific at problem-solving on site, addressing many issues in an open, thoughtful, and proactive way. And they were quick to help us agree on solutions to the few problems that did arise. We are thrilled with our remodel and enjoy their great work every day. Thanks!
From beginning to end, Pathway delivered superior services that differentiated themselves from other design and constructions firms. The overall experience was wonderful and exceeded our expectations.
Managing budget and keeping it on target.
Working with Jeremiah was a delight. He is always responsive, takes his job seriously, goes above and beyond his work duty, is very attentive to details, makes really good suggestions, takes feedback seriously... Working with Paul and Mike was also very easy. They were quick to find solutions and always listening to feedback and taking it to heart.
The Team at Pathway were all great to work with. They communicate well, are problem-solvers, and very detail-oriented. It's apparent they take pride in their work for every project they have, and are quick to make things right if the customer has something that needs to be addressed. We plan to remodel our basement in a few years and will definitely utilize Pathway again. We're beyond happy with how the house turned out!
We did not meet our targeted schedule, but it was due to events that were out of Pathway's control.
We had a very positive experience with them. No major issues.
Their Lead Carpenter, Jeremiah, was amazing to work with. He was responsive and great at what he does. I think our experience wouldn't have been as positive if our main day-to-day contact did not communicate as well as he did during the project. He made the process feel less stressful, and in good hands.
The entire Pathways team exceeded our expectations at every turn. Not only were they easy and fun to work with; each member of the team knew their stuff, was prompt and courteous, and delivered high-quality products. Was our remodel more expensive than we thought it would be when it was just a dream? Sure. But the value of working with true professionals was worth every penny. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Oh, man. The list is long. Most of all, here are the two top things: 1) I just appreciate that you guys are so responsive. You answer calls and emails and texts in a timely fashion. That's practically unheard of these days. 2) I'm sure you know what gems you have in Alex and Don. Not only was their work exceptional, they were so easy to have in our home - polite, smiling, hard-working, respectful. For years to come, I will look at our kitchen and think of them, working so hard to create a beautiful space for us. I'm so grateful.
We are extremely pleased with Pathway's work on our 1912 Craftsman. Pathway was the most responsive contractor during the initial bid phase and provided the most helpful feedback while we were making our decision. We consider ourselves fortunate that Pathway was willing to adjust their scope of work to fit our budget. Although their reputation for green building was not a key factor during contractor selection, I was pleased with their cleanliness and support during the owner-performed demolition and small projects during construction. They provided an extensive dust containment system and HEPA filters for dust management. In retrospect, I will look for green builders in the future because of my good experience with Pathway, particularly because we did not sacrifice quality. In fact I am impressed with the construction quality. Issues or conflicts that arose were handled in a reasonable and professional manner. The lead carpenter, Alex Merrill, was an extraordinary overseer with keen attention to detail and good communication skills. Oftentimes we would identify small issues during construction with the intent of mentioning them during our weekly meetings, only to find that Alex had already fixed them. They completed their full scope of work nearly on time and with a reasonable number of change orders. We've also appreciated their post-construction support, which has been courteous and prompt. We would certainly recommend Pathway to others looking for a high-end builder.
This was one of the most important aspects of working with Pathway. They were willing to narrow our scope to get the project within budget and we greatly appreciate their efforts.
Alex Merrill is not only a spectacular carpenter, he is charismatic and extremely easy to work with. He also commands a team of talented and courteous tradespeople.
In the future, I will work harder to ensure a more thorough scope of design. Several unforeseen issues could have been earmarked earlier by expanding the scope items. This is as much my fault as Pathway's and we were fortunate that the Project Manager, Mike Kocharhook, was reasonable and courteous during discussions.
Working with Alex was an unexpected pleasure. Pathway did a good job matching him to our job. We are incredibly thankful to Pathway for accepting our job, working with us on the budget, allowing us to perform work where possible, maintaining steady and clear communication throughout the job, reasonable solutions to conflicts, clever design ideas, and overall high build quality.
Overall, we were very pleased with the professionalism and skill of Pathway employees and their sub-contractors. In spite of our oddly-shaped kitchen, they were able to present options for solving all the challenges that arose and execute our chosen solutions with aplomb. Definitely a job well done!
Jeremiah certainly has the skill and personality for a job with these challenges. We especially appreciated his good work and ability to think on his feet.
We had an excellent experience with Pathway. They were professional, kept our home clean after they were done working for the day, and gave us the beautiful end result we were looking for. We will recommend them to everyone!
Nothing – everything was taken care of perfectly. Even when something went off-plan, they either adjusted accordingly or offered us several options to resolve the issue.
We really appreciated that our home was swept clean every night. This made a huge difference in still having a nice home to return to every day. I also appreciated that they went the extra mile when an issue popped up, through no fault of theirs, so that we would remain satisfied with the outcome.
Pathway was extremely professional, communicated well, completed the job on budget, and were very responsive to my concerns. I highly recommend them.
We discussed chemicals involved on the job producing discomfort, waste produced and best handling methods, and newer products. Pathway is good about being open to discussion and continuously improving green practices, which is very important to us.
Pathway was an excellent service provider during our remodel, actually to the extent where they felt more like a partner. They did whatever it took to make sure we were happy with the final work quality. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the job site throughout the process. Additionally, Pathway was great about communication. From our bid process, to our weekly touch base meetings, Pathway was responsive and accountable with matters related to project management and any unexpected issues. As new, first-time homeowners, this was our initial remodel project. Pathway took extra time to ensure we were comfortable and that we understood each step in the process. They also finished the job ahead of schedule which was an added bonus.
Pathway was proactive in communicating any issues. We also really enjoyed the use of the BuilderTrend web-based software to give us insight into the project calendar, progress, and to easily make change-order approvals.
We are satisfied with the materials used and recommended by Pathway. We gave Pathway strict budget and priorities to meet, and they were able to help us select great materials to fit within our parameters. We have lived in the house for one year post-remodel, and everything is holding up well.
One-year later after moving in, and we're happy with the craftsmanship. Everything was put together well.
Pathway always did whatever necessary to ensure we were happy with the job. If that meant redoing something, they did it until we were satisfied. No questions asked. We appreciated their customer-centric approach to doing business.
We bid three separate companies before choosing Pathway. Pathway's services were priced competitively and we feel that we received a good value for the time and craftsmanship.
We eliminated moldy bathrooms and used low-VOC materials/paints throughout the house as recommended by Pathway.
Pathway was an excellent service provider during our remodel, actually to the extent where they felt more like a partner. No job goes exactly as planned 100 percent of the time, but Pathway always did whatever it took to make sure we were happy with the final work quality. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the job site. We were at the house for weekly meetings and we were always impressed with the organization and low amounts of dust left lying around. Additionally, Pathway was great about communication, from the outset during our bid process (with Paul the owner), to our weekly touch base meetings (with Mike, our project manager, and Jeremiah, our lead carpenter), Pathway was responsive and accountable with matters related to project management and any unexpected issues. As new, first-time homeowners, this was our first time doing any kind of remodel project. Pathway took extra time to ensure we were comfortable and that we understood each step in the process. They also finished the job ahead of schedule which was a nice bonus.
We will happily recommend Pathway to any of our friends in the market for design and construction services.
In a very competitive market Pathway consistently delivered high quality, on-time work. They kept an immaculate job site, were always available by email, text, or phone, and stuck to the milestones and benchmarks established at the beginning. Their estimates and work were accurate and the quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding. They are also a nice team and pleasure to be around.
The communication, the exceptionally nice people, and the cleanliness all were significantly better than I could have hoped. Thank you.
Mike and Jeremiah gave us ample time to think about and discuss the decisions we needed to make along the way. They prompted us to begin thinking about things well before they needed a decision to be made. Jeremiah would leave mock-ups and drawings for us to consider over time so we could explore possibilities without feeling rushed. All of our questions and ideas were considered and discussed to our satisfaction. Jeremiah also seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge with us so we felt informed and capable of making educated decisions. This level of communication and management meant that we didn't hold up the project trying to make decisions, we're happy with the decisions that we made, and we truly enjoyed the entire process.
We went outside our own budget, but Pathway was always extremely clear about costs of any work we elected to undertake.
We love the Pathway team. Jeremiah, Mike, Paul, Brandon, and all the others were professional, courteous, and really easy to work with all around, and we felt very comfortable having them in our house, with our two young children.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jeremiah. We were living in our home while the work took place and Jeremiah not only left the house clean and safe for our young children at the end of each day, but was also truly kind to our family. I hadn't considered the reality of having people being in our house while we were at work all day or getting started before we'd even woken up. We really felt comfortable with Jeremiah and trusted his supervision of subcontractors. Our three year old daughter drew him a picture he graciously accepted and she was thrilled to get a photo of it hanging above his motorcycle at home. We all missed having him around when the project was finished.
Outstanding prep and cleanup! Thanks guys!

GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Pathway Design & Construction as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
