You get what you pay for. We wanted a competent company with good communication and action. And we got it.
Great experience end to end. These guys know how to remodel and do it right. They take care of your every need. All with any additional cost!
Budget - Very happy with how they budget and stick to it unless change requests are needed. This is such a great part of the experience.
Schedule - As far as scheduling goes this is the best held schedule in all my various remodels.
Problem Resolution - They are on it
Areas Of Satisfaction - Top to bottom their responsiveness attention to detail client first mentality is something I have not seen a lot of in this industry. Can’t wait to use them again!!!!
Additional Comments - Paul and Mike.... thank you for handling our Job with care and making our experience great. You have built an awesome company!
Communication - Being remote, using email include pictures and Buildertrend made it easier.
Budget - Matched the contract with no surprises.
Schedule - Even though the start was out of our control, Pathway kept to the initial contract schedule estimate and to the schedule made once the project started.
Problem Resolution - We had a few issues with Pathway's suppliers and they worked with us to resolve issues.
Quality Of Materials - So far it has been fine and we appreciated their suggestions on products.
Fair Value For Investment - Pathway might have been more expensive then what others had quoted but there were no up charges during the project except. for the issue of the tub surround. We think that others would have raised their prices or used inferior products.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Prompt, good communication (questions or notifications), overall quality and workmanship, keeping to the schedule and working with us to find a timely solution to the tub surround issue.
Additional Comments - They made it as easy as possible to manage the work remotely and probably couldn't find anyone that could have made that easier. Appreciate their willingness to work with us and positive attitudes.
Will definitely hire Pathway for our next project.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The painting and drywall done on our project was really well done. This part of the scope wasn't something we had originally asked for, but we're glad we did because it looks really nice.
Additional Comments - Will definitely hire Pathway for our next project.
Additional Comments - . Except for Covid the project went smoothly and very well.
Areas Of Satisfaction - They met/exceeded my expectations with their follow-through.
Additional Comments - We were in the middle of the remodel when COVID shut everything down. They worked really hard to get our bathroom back functioning and complete the project while following all the requirements for the shutdown.
We couldn't be more pleased having selected Pathway Design & Construction for our home remodel project. The entire staff practices, the positive attitude, pride in quality, highest integrity and standards, reflecting the personality and philosophy that we noted in our initial meeting with Company President Paul Kocharhook. Our team and support staff, were experienced, skilled crafts-persons of the highest quality. They were all polite, personable and thoughtful individuals providing us with the feeling that our smaller remodel, was their most important jobs.
We also experienced personal growth through the project development stages and construction phases, often being presented exciting alternatives to our preconceived assumptions and ideas. We were expertly guided through an enlightening educational experience and are thoroughly enjoying our new, more efficient, organized spaces. We are thrilled with all aspects of our completed project.couldn't be happier with all aspects of our completed project, from the hardware and equipment recommendations and the "look" of our new spaces and their selected finishes and colors.
Communication - Communication was an important ingredient during the entire process of our project. This was mostly managed through a program used by Pathway called Buildertrend. It contained all of our project goals, the final permitted Construction Documents (and all developing design iterations, comments, and questions), our signed Contract, any historically significant information and photo images of the pre-project spacial layout and conditions of our home, the names and contact information for all Pathway Team Members, including all Sub-contractors. It provided a daily report on each day's activities, questions from both owner and contractor, progress photographs, all specified equipment and materials for review and final approval, invoices, Change Order proposals and cost for approval, and budget and schedule tracking and updates. It proved to be a great tool once we got used to always checking daily for informational updates and possible questions. In addition there were weekly meetings with both our lead carpenter and project manager, as well as occasional request for in situ, situational reviews and decisions for "unanticipated discoveries" in order to maintain schedule.
Budget - Maintained budget with very few Change Orders resulting from structural surprise, owner added requests, and some cost savings options.
Problem Resolution - Owner questions/problems were always quickly addressed and corrected, if necessary. Any contractor questions/problems including the typical "remodel surprises" were quickly presented with options as well as budget and schedule impacts. Always transparent and the solutions dealt with and incorporated promptly.
Employees Professionalism - All construction team members and office staff were certainly top notch, highly qualified, wise from professional experience and always polite, considerate and courteous.
Trade Partners Professionalism - If they weren't skilled, professional, and courteous crafts-persons, they wouldn't have been working for Pathway. In conversation I learned that their group of subs typically work exclusively with Pathway. I have worked in the construction industry for many years in various capacities and these are among the very best I have had the pleasure of working with. All very responsible, promoting, representing and living by the "Pathway Philosophy."
Clean & Safe - Cleanliness and safety were always a priority, both during the work day and as they departed each day. They were very responsible of caring for the entire house not just the areas in which the improvements were occurring.
Quality Of Materials - I think we touched on that briefly in our summary above; however, their experience led to recommendations of products used in applications on past jobs with consistent reliability on past jobs. This experience served us all well and introduced us to some hardware, items and materials that we really couldn't be happier and more pleased with. In a sense it becomes almost a quest, in a cooperative search in consideration of the best solutions for each and every aspect on every project.
Quality Of Workmanship - Second to none!!! Their pride in their work product shows in even the smallest of details, just as you want it to.
Trust - It works!!! We were not pleased with some of our carpet installation and it was replaced at no additional cost to us.
Fair Value For Investment - We definitely feel we got a very "Fair Value" and the quality we wanted for our investment.
Additional Comments - Pathway will always receive our highest recommendation and our first consideration for any possible future projects.
Process focused, easy to work with, good communications, high value
Budget - We changed the specs to get what we wanted. Pathway knocked themselves out to stay in budget
Schedule - Pathway set a schedule and worked to get it. No problems
Employees Professionalism - Everyone we worked with was top notch
Trade Partners Professionalism - The subs were all attentive
Clean & Safe - Exceptional. Cleaner than we normally keep things.
Quality Of Materials - Materials matched the budget
Quality Of Workmanship - Excellent work from professional craftsmen
Areas Of Satisfaction - Incredibly fast response to concerns
Additional Comments - Would definitely recommend Pathway
We have heard horror stories about friends' experiences with other contractors. This was our first remodel, so we were nervous at the beginning. However, Pathway never let us down, and we will gladly recommend Pathway to friends.
Communication - We had weekly meetings with Alex, and all of our concerns and questions were fully addressed.
Problem Resolution - An asbestos issue arose unexpectedly in the middle of our project. Pathway efficiently addressed this issue and kept our project on schedule.
Employees Professionalism - Everyone who works for Pathway was unfailingly professional and courteous.
Clean & Safe - Pathway set up dust/dirt containment barriers and cleaned up so well that we were able to live in during the remodel.
Areas Of Satisfaction - In almost every area! Alex went out of his way to address all of our concerns. He always communicated patiently and clearly, did his own construction work to a very high standard, and generously helped us with other problems that arose during construction. After unusually heavy rain, water seeped into a basement room near where a new electrical panel was being installed as part of our project. (The electrical panel was not the source of the leak.) Alex and Mike kindly assisted us with drying out the basement and helped diagnose the external source of the water.
We are so happy with our choice of Pathway for our kitchen/powder room remodel! Everyone helped make this daunting experience so much easier than anticipated. We had heard horror stories from others about the woes, hassles and regrets of remodeling. We had none of these, and any problems encountered were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. We would trust Pathway with any future projects and confidently recommend Pathway.
Communication - Buildertrend was helpful, and our project team was available by phone, email or text as needed--and always prompt in responding.
Clean & Safe - Pathway employees took meticulous care to ensure the job site was clean when they left each day. This greatly reduced the stress involved in remodeling/kitchen displacement!
Trust - We trust the integrity of Pathway and we know everything will be completed to our satisfaction. This confidence makes the whole experience so much more pleasant and less stressful.
From start to finish Pathway made our 4 month project stress free and fun. Paul and his entire team were professional, reliable, accountable, and true craftsmen.
Communication - Pathway uses a website called Buildertrend. It tracks the project schedule, change orders, invoices, and selections. It provided great communication but the entire team was also just a text or phone call away.
Professional & Organized - Alex, our lead carpenter, was extremely organized and kept everything on track. Mike, our project manager off site, made sure everything was ordered and on time. Both were great to work with.
Schedule - Our schedule changed a couple of times through out the project at no fault to Pathway. In the end we moved back into our house only 1 week later than originally planned.
Employees Professionalism - I can't say enough about the Pathway team. I was blown away by their professionalism and respect for our things.
Clean & Safe - At the end of each day the entire work area was cleaned up. You could actually walk through the site and not feel like you were walking through a construction zone, even during demo.
Quality Of Workmanship - Alex and Steve provided us with the highest quality of workmanship. They both are true craftsmen.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Pathway exceeded our expectations in all areas of the project. We had heard so many negative stories from family and friends on their remodel projects. They should have worked with Pathway. We just never experienced anything negative through out the entire project.
Additional Comments - I can not recommend Pathway enough. We can't wait to start phase 2 with them.
Additional Comments - Pathway was very open, collaborative, and professional with us. In particular, they did a wonderful job keeping us up to date on the status of the project, being transparent and honest when there were unexpected surprises, and helping us navigate the overall renovation and letting us know what to expect. We are very happy that we partnered with Pathway for this project, and love the end results.
We had an excellent experience working with Pathway for our two story addition in Mt. Baker. First of all, our house is BEAUTIFUL. We could not have asked for a better finished product. Everyone at Pathway was responsive, helpful, kind, and had amazing attention to detail. We would highly recommend this company for any project, large or small. Plus, they finished on-time and UNDER BUDGET. Basically a miracle.
Communication - We really appreciated the communication from Tina, Paul, Mike, and Alex. It was very helpful to have an easy way to contact everyone involved in the project and to receive messages back in such a timely manner.
Budget - I'm amazed at how close we came to the budget. Truly incredible.
Employees Professionalism - We had such an excellent experience with everyone we worked with at Pathway. Not only professional and courteous but also thoughtful and helpful through the whole project.
Clean & Safe - I was always so impressed with the cleanliness of the job site when we visited.
Areas Of Satisfaction - We were most satisfied by the communication and suggestions during the project, and we are ultimately the most satisfied with our finished product. We love our home and we're so happy we chose Pathway.
Additional Comments - We also really appreciated our relationship with Alex. It made a huge difference to have someone we trust at the house every day, managing the daily work and the subcontractors who were coming through. It gave us peace of mind and was very comforting to know that Alex's attention to detail and considerable talent were managing the project.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was out of town when the work was being done but the kept in communication with me about the progress of the work. When there was a small issue about the layout of the tile it was quickly solved.
Had a wonderful experience working with Pathway and all their subcontractors. Everyone was very professional and courteous, took time to answer all my questions and address any concerns I had. I would feel very confident about recommending Pathway Design and Construction to all my friends and family. They were a joy to work with.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I am very happy with the professionalism of all the workers and thought that Pathway did a wonderful job of keeping me informed through the process. This was my first renovation job and it was a pleasant experience. I feel confident in recommending Pathway to friends and family and will definitely think of them for any future renovations.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The year-long project truly felt like a partnership. It didn't feel like they were talking down to us or keeping anything from us. They never hesitated in answering our questions, big or small. They involved us in decision-making and explained their choices. They helped us do portions of the project ourselves. We were also very impressed with how respectfully they worked in such close quarters with our neighbors, and with us who were living on-site during the project.
After having several remodels on my home by a different contractor who retired, I gave Pathway Design & Construction a try when I needed my kitchen and deck remodeled. The overall experience with Pathway was outstanding. They were extremely receptive of my feedback and went out their way to resolve any issue that I brought to their attention. The quality of their work and craftsmanship was excellent. There was always good communication from the initial planning stages to the final project review. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Very professional, considerate and conscientious.
Additional Comments - Truly a company of craftspeople.
Areas Of Satisfaction - communication and quick response to inquiries or concerns.
Additional Comments - I was very impressed by a letter they took around to my neighbors explaining that there would be a project going on, apologizing in advance for any inconveniences and giving a contact number if they had any problems or concerns.I was also impressed with the binder I received at the end containing product maintenance information and warrantees so that I can have it all in one place for this project.
My husband and I were very happy with Pathway. They put a lot of effort up front into defining our scope, helping us to understand a realistic budget, and recommending helpful changes to reduce our cost. They were terrific at problem-solving on site, addressing many issues in an open, thoughtful, and proactive way. And they were quick to help us agree on solutions to the few problems that did arise. We are thrilled with our remodel and enjoy their great work every day. Thanks!
From beginning to end, Pathway delivered superior services that differentiated themselves from other design and constructions firms. The overall experience was wonderful and exceeded our expectations.
Improvement Suggestion(s) - Managing budget and keeping it on target.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Working with Jeremiah was a delight. He is always responsive, takes his job seriously, goes above and beyond his work duty, is very attentive to details, makes really good suggestions, takes feedback seriously... Working with Paul and Mike was also very easy. They were quick to find solutions and always listening to feedback and taking it to heart.
The Team at Pathway were all great to work with. They communicate well, are problem-solvers, and very detail-oriented. It's apparent they take pride in their work for every project they have, and are quick to make things right if the customer has something that needs to be addressed. We plan to remodel our basement in a few years and will definitely utilize Pathway again. We're beyond happy with how the house turned out!
Schedule - We did not meet our targeted schedule, but it was due to events that were out of Pathway's control.
Improvement Suggestion(s) - We had a very positive experience with them. No major issues.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Their Lead Carpenter, Jeremiah, was amazing to work with. He was responsive and great at what he does. I think our experience wouldn't have been as positive if our main day-to-day contact did not communicate as well as he did during the project. He made the process feel less stressful, and in good hands.
The entire Pathways team exceeded our expectations at every turn. Not only were they easy and fun to work with; each member of the team knew their stuff, was prompt and courteous, and delivered high-quality products. Was our remodel more expensive than we thought it would be when it was just a dream? Sure. But the value of working with true professionals was worth every penny. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Oh, man. The list is long. Most of all, here are the two top things: 1) I just appreciate that you guys are so responsive. You answer calls and emails and texts in a timely fashion. That's practically unheard of these days. 2) I'm sure you know what gems you have in Alex and Don. Not only was their work exceptional, they were so easy to have in our home - polite, smiling, hard-working, respectful. For years to come, I will look at our kitchen and think of them, working so hard to create a beautiful space for us. I'm so grateful.
We are extremely pleased with Pathway's work on our 1912 Craftsman. Pathway was the most responsive contractor during the initial bid phase and provided the most helpful feedback while we were making our decision. We consider ourselves fortunate that Pathway was willing to adjust their scope of work to fit our budget. Although their reputation for green building was not a key factor during contractor selection, I was pleased with their cleanliness and support during the owner-performed demolition and small projects during construction. They provided an extensive dust containment system and HEPA filters for dust management. In retrospect, I will look for green builders in the future because of my good experience with Pathway, particularly because we did not sacrifice quality. In fact I am impressed with the construction quality. Issues or conflicts that arose were handled in a reasonable and professional manner. The lead carpenter, Alex Merrill, was an extraordinary overseer with keen attention to detail and good communication skills. Oftentimes we would identify small issues during construction with the intent of mentioning them during our weekly meetings, only to find that Alex had already fixed them. They completed their full scope of work nearly on time and with a reasonable number of change orders. We've also appreciated their post-construction support, which has been courteous and prompt. We would certainly recommend Pathway to others looking for a high-end builder.
Budget - This was one of the most important aspects of working with Pathway. They were willing to narrow our scope to get the project within budget and we greatly appreciate their efforts.
Employees Professionalism - Alex Merrill is not only a spectacular carpenter, he is charismatic and extremely easy to work with. He also commands a team of talented and courteous tradespeople.
Improvement Suggestion(s) - In the future, I will work harder to ensure a more thorough scope of design. Several unforeseen issues could have been earmarked earlier by expanding the scope items. This is as much my fault as Pathway's and we were fortunate that the Project Manager, Mike Kocharhook, was reasonable and courteous during discussions.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Working with Alex was an unexpected pleasure. Pathway did a good job matching him to our job. We are incredibly thankful to Pathway for accepting our job, working with us on the budget, allowing us to perform work where possible, maintaining steady and clear communication throughout the job, reasonable solutions to conflicts, clever design ideas, and overall high build quality.
Overall, we were very pleased with the professionalism and skill of Pathway employees and their sub-contractors. In spite of our oddly-shaped kitchen, they were able to present options for solving all the challenges that arose and execute our chosen solutions with aplomb. Definitely a job well done!
Areas Of Satisfaction - Jeremiah certainly has the skill and personality for a job with these challenges. We especially appreciated his good work and ability to think on his feet.
We had an excellent experience with Pathway. They were professional, kept our home clean after they were done working for the day, and gave us the beautiful end result we were looking for. We will recommend them to everyone!
Improvement Suggestion(s) - Nothing – everything was taken care of perfectly. Even when something went off-plan, they either adjusted accordingly or offered us several options to resolve the issue.
Areas Of Satisfaction - We really appreciated that our home was swept clean every night. This made a huge difference in still having a nice home to return to every day. I also appreciated that they went the extra mile when an issue popped up, through no fault of theirs, so that we would remain satisfied with the outcome.
Pathway was extremely professional, communicated well, completed the job on budget, and were very responsive to my concerns. I highly recommend them.
Additional Comments - We discussed chemicals involved on the job producing discomfort, waste produced and best handling methods, and newer products. Pathway is good about being open to discussion and continuously improving green practices, which is very important to us.
Pathway was an excellent service provider during our remodel, actually to the extent where they felt more like a partner. They did whatever it took to make sure we were happy with the final work quality. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the job site throughout the process. Additionally, Pathway was great about communication. From our bid process, to our weekly touch base meetings, Pathway was responsive and accountable with matters related to project management and any unexpected issues. As new, first-time homeowners, this was our initial remodel project. Pathway took extra time to ensure we were comfortable and that we understood each step in the process. They also finished the job ahead of schedule which was an added bonus.
Communication - Pathway was proactive in communicating any issues. We also really enjoyed the use of the BuilderTrend web-based software to give us insight into the project calendar, progress, and to easily make change-order approvals.
Quality Of Materials - We are satisfied with the materials used and recommended by Pathway. We gave Pathway strict budget and priorities to meet, and they were able to help us select great materials to fit within our parameters. We have lived in the house for one year post-remodel, and everything is holding up well.
Quality Of Workmanship - One-year later after moving in, and we're happy with the craftsmanship. Everything was put together well.
Trust - Pathway always did whatever necessary to ensure we were happy with the job. If that meant redoing something, they did it until we were satisfied. No questions asked. We appreciated their customer-centric approach to doing business.
Fair Value For Investment - We bid three separate companies before choosing Pathway. Pathway's services were priced competitively and we feel that we received a good value for the time and craftsmanship.
Living Environment Healthier - We eliminated moldy bathrooms and used low-VOC materials/paints throughout the house as recommended by Pathway.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Pathway was an excellent service provider during our remodel, actually to the extent where they felt more like a partner. No job goes exactly as planned 100 percent of the time, but Pathway always did whatever it took to make sure we were happy with the final work quality. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the job site. We were at the house for weekly meetings and we were always impressed with the organization and low amounts of dust left lying around. Additionally, Pathway was great about communication, from the outset during our bid process (with Paul the owner), to our weekly touch base meetings (with Mike, our project manager, and Jeremiah, our lead carpenter), Pathway was responsive and accountable with matters related to project management and any unexpected issues. As new, first-time homeowners, this was our first time doing any kind of remodel project. Pathway took extra time to ensure we were comfortable and that we understood each step in the process. They also finished the job ahead of schedule which was a nice bonus.
Additional Comments - We will happily recommend Pathway to any of our friends in the market for design and construction services.
In a very competitive market Pathway consistently delivered high quality, on-time work. They kept an immaculate job site, were always available by email, text, or phone, and stuck to the milestones and benchmarks established at the beginning. Their estimates and work were accurate and the quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding. They are also a nice team and pleasure to be around.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The communication, the exceptionally nice people, and the cleanliness all were significantly better than I could have hoped. Thank you.
Communication - Mike and Jeremiah gave us ample time to think about and discuss the decisions we needed to make along the way. They prompted us to begin thinking about things well before they needed a decision to be made. Jeremiah would leave mock-ups and drawings for us to consider over time so we could explore possibilities without feeling rushed. All of our questions and ideas were considered and discussed to our satisfaction. Jeremiah also seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge with us so we felt informed and capable of making educated decisions. This level of communication and management meant that we didn't hold up the project trying to make decisions, we're happy with the decisions that we made, and we truly enjoyed the entire process.
Budget - We went outside our own budget, but Pathway was always extremely clear about costs of any work we elected to undertake.
Employees Professionalism - We love the Pathway team. Jeremiah, Mike, Paul, Brandon, and all the others were professional, courteous, and really easy to work with all around, and we felt very comfortable having them in our house, with our two young children.
Trade Partners Professionalism - It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jeremiah. We were living in our home while the work took place and Jeremiah not only left the house clean and safe for our young children at the end of each day, but was also truly kind to our family. I hadn't considered the reality of having people being in our house while we were at work all day or getting started before we'd even woken up. We really felt comfortable with Jeremiah and trusted his supervision of subcontractors. Our three year old daughter drew him a picture he graciously accepted and she was thrilled to get a photo of it hanging above his motorcycle at home. We all missed having him around when the project was finished.
Clean & Safe - Outstanding prep and cleanup! Thanks guys!
Areas Of Satisfaction - Professionalism, Quality of workmanship, Cleanliness, Personable employees
Budget - They were great.
Areas Of Satisfaction - They were really professional. They did what they said they would and stayed on the budget. They communicated really well with us.
We had a very positive experience with Pathway DC. They stayed in budget and within the time that said they would. What few problems we had were fixed to our satisfaction in a timely manner. They were courteous and professional.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Miah, the carpenter, was awesome. He did beautiful craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work.
We did a huge remodel of our existing home, which included adding a new bedroom, dining room, a new roof, and full energy upgrades. Pathway D&C was one of the more expensive bids, but we felt comfortable discussing the details with Paul and felt, ultimately, that their bid made the most sense. So glad that we went with our gut, rather than our pocketbooks! Working with Paul, Mike, and Doug was a pleasure. They were always willing to talk us through the options, pricing, and tradeoffs in a clear and detailed manner. Their work was excellent and all the contractors they worked with were held to a high standard. Additionally, they worked hard to protect the landscaping, as well as taking every environmental precaution. After the work was complete, they came back to follow-through on little patch work that needed to be done after settling, as well as knocking out any items that we added to the punch list. We have been absolutely satisfied with the entire experience. We were living in the house while all this work was completed and they were extremely accommodating to our schedules and privacy. Additionally, they left the living area clean and tidy after each day of work.
Areas Of Satisfaction - 1. The responsiveness to any of our concerns and emergencies. Whether it was a tarp tearing loose in a windstorm or just people rifling through our dumpster, assistance was just a phone call away. 2. Taking responsibility for their work. Throughout the construction, I always felt confident that if anything went wrong, Pathway would stand by their work, take responsibility for any faults that were theirs, and let me know what the options are for moving forward. This contributed to a huge piece of mind that made what could've been a very tense few months quite reasonably enjoyable.
Pathway was great to work with and produced a superb product for us. We would use them again and have recommended them to others.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Decisions that led to a home that would be low maintenance and high efficiency were important. We were particularly concerned about having a healthy home that did not expose us to toxic materials and provided excellent air quality. Pathway specializes in creating a healthy home environment and did a great job of doing that for us.They were able to do this both in the new addition and in changes to the existing 75 year old house.
Additional Comments - Our project was large and took some time. We lived in the house for the largest part of the work and Pathway did an excellent job of minimizing the impact to us.
Additional Comments - We were so happy with the care that they took. We got to choose the color, and they were so patient and kind. They were tidy and cleaned up. I don't think we could have had a better experience. I think they're great.
Problem Resolution - Problems were handled very easily by the staff
I couldn't be happier with our new deck. The deck is great. It has added to our summertime enjoyment to our house, and added to the value to our home.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with their ability to find a good deck solution for us. We had to find a unique solution for our specific case.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Their experience with non-toxic materials and methods.
Areas Of Satisfaction - They got me off my chair to get things done because they made it seem like it would be an affordable and quality job. That's so important because you tend to procrastinate. I really felt like I could trust them.
The remodel project Pathway did for us in 2013 was a great experience that resulted in a wonderful result. Our home is much more livable and is now a better, healthier environment. We are now working with them to plan a much bigger project.
Areas Of Satisfaction - We have both had experience with remodel projects and this was the best experience ever. The work site was clean and almost entirely odor-free through the entire remodel and the finished work was top-quality. Planning and communication was excellent and they handled the few bumps (that we caused) in the process with complete professionalism.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Mike and Doug were very responsive, reliable, personable and accommodating. They were always there for us whenever we needed their assistance.
It is always a pleasure working with Pathway Design and Construction. I trust them to always be conscious about their work and conscious about their stewardship for the environment.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was satisfied with their response and their integrity. I trust them to do good work.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I always have the sense that Pathway is working with us, rather than for us. They see many things we have overlooked and point out facets that make the whole job go better.
Improvement Suggestion(s) - We were/are very happy with every aspect of their work.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Thoughtfulness in communication; followup on all details; clear explanations of reasons and process.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Doug and Mike have always been very dependable, helpful, responsive, and personable. We feel very confident and comfortable that they would solve our problems by any means.
Additional Comments - I thought the people were especially cognizant of my special needs - they were definitely aware of how to address my special medical needs, and that was important to me.
Improvement Suggestion(s) - nothing. I have never had so much trust so well placed. I do not know many who could have completed this project with such patience and grace. The work was thoughtful and careful. I did spend too much money, but that was my fault. I was warned!
I hired Pathway to guide my whole house remodel because I'd seen some of their work and liked the way they approached their projects. After we made the decision to remodel rather than tear down this 1950's home that had never had a speck of maintenance, Pathway addressed each issue as we encountered it. It was kind of a design/build concept, in that once we tore out the old drywall to see what was there, then we figured out what we could do. We knew going in it would need to be replumbed, rewired, new heating and ducts, flooring, kitchen, baths, insulation and sealing. Reinforcing the framing made a huge difference in the way the building feels, the floors are much more solid. We got the interior squared away and I've been living in the house for a year and everything is preforming just the way it's supposed to. We're just starting to talk about the next phase of the remodel which will include replacing the flat roof with a pitched roof to better control runoff, add space for insulation and pre-engineer for a solar application in a subsequent phase.
Areas Of Satisfaction - It was great the way we were able to talk about different options, materials and approaches to the different issues we encountered. It helped keep the project on budget and made me feel like we were making the best decisions for the long term life of the home. This house needed a lot of structural upgrades, a bit hard to swallow at the time because of the unforseen expenses, but they needed to be done. I am very satisfied with the end result, the house feels so much more solid.
Original Design - We wrapped up work on the first phase of my whole house remodel a year ago and all the new systems have been working perfectly. The new HVAC not only warmed the house efficiently, it really felt like a cleaner, dryer air in the house.
Communication - Communication was great during the remodeling process and I continue to stay in touch with the general contractor at Pathway as we talk about the next phase.
Quality Of Workmanship - I like to do some of the work myself, but I really appreciated the knowledge and ability of some of the people Pathway brought in. The structural and framing guys brought new life to the sagging framework, the insulation and air sealing people tightened up the envelope and the finish carpenter did a great job in the kitchen.
Improved Energy Performance - oh yeah, the house was a wind tunnel before it was sealed up. And the new HVAC is a million times better than the old oil burning furnace.
Areas Of Satisfaction - It is important to me to build/remodel with the long term best interest of the house in mind. I want everything to last for the next 50 years. I think Pathway did a great job or accessing the challenges unique to this 1950's era house that was almost a tear down, rebuilding or replacing where needed and using the greenest materials I could afford. All the while maintaining most of the character that made this house a star back in its day.
Pathway Design & Construction were great to work with. They let us do a lot of the work ourselves, which is what we wanted in a contractor, so that we could both learn from an expert and save some money. Doug was extremely patient with us (we barely knew which end of a hammer to swing) and did a great job advising us on technique and materials (Frog Tape can make all the difference in the world!). They also lent us numerous tools during the job, which was great as it allowed us a kind of "try before you buy" experience. Pathway also seemed to genuinely want us to have a healthy, energy-efficient home (as did we!), so it was great to work with them towards that end and not feel like they were just there to make a buck. Pathway was recommended to us, and we happily recommend them to others!
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Pathway Design & Construction as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
