Very good experience overall, but not perfect
I am really happy with my home.
I had a good experience all around.
Steph was awesome.
I dont think the home buying experience is ever super fun. However, my experience buying a McArthur was a very good experience. Quick communication and friendly people. It was very nice not playing the bidding games on offers.
Very good experience except for one thing. On the initial discussion our realtor asked if we could use a different title company and was told yes. At closing we were told we didn't get our $500 gift card because we used a different title company. As the buyers we feel we shouldn't have been penalized by this and should still receive our gift card but no one really wants to address it.
Great people and everything went smooth
McArthur Homes builds great homes and are so easy to work with. The home layout and location is great!
We’ve been very pleased with McArthur Homes. The more we learned about them as a builder, the quality of homes they build and the people we met and how they run their business made us feel so confident about the home we were purchasing.
Very exceptional customer experience
Customer service sucks!
The team was helpful through every step. When there were speed bumps, they made sure we were comforted.
I'm definitely happy with the quality of the build overall. There are a few things that I think will need to be looked at during the warranty period, but I don't think any build is going to be perfect. Having said that, I think the communication during the build itself was subpar. I would constantly get emails that said something to the effect of, "Thank you for your patience. We are experiencing a time that we've never experienced before." I understand that, but as a customer, I am too. So, in times when things are unlike anything you've ever experienced, it would make sense to do things that have never been done. Let me explain. Be more open and transparent in communication. What are the delays, and why? What is your build process and are there phases to it? What are things we can do to be ready to move in once it is ready to go? Are there specific milestones that we would typically watch for that indicate it is to a specific point in the build? What are things we should be watching for as the buyers? Are there things we should be paying extra close attention to during the walkthroughs and such? Point is, I would rather you give me more information than I need than just be silent and constantly thank me for being patient. I don't know what delays exist and why. I don't know how things affect the build process. I don't know what general timing is or should be. I don't know what things to be watching for. I would have expected better communication.
Everyone at McArthur made the building process better than we expected. They listened to our issues and responded to questions.
The quality of the home is great and everyone was quick to help us out and make sure we understand everything. Overall McArthur did a great job.
Thank you for building my home and not getting greedy or lazy when the market went haywire. I am seriously beyond happy with my experience buying a home from McArthur. I recommend McArthur every time I talk about my home to others.
We have loved building with McArthur. Throughout the whole building process, they were excellent at updating us, especially during a tricky time with unexpected shortages. Every person we worked with was professional and extremely knowledgeable. We loved all of the design choices for our home, allowing it to feel like a custom home would. McArthur offers more customization choices than most builders in the area. They also have a higher standard that other builders would require you to upgrade to receive. We have been impressed with the warranty- and particularly how it was explained to us. We have been very impressed with the subcontractors as well. We believe McArthur builds a better home than most other builders in the area. We loved our experience and would look to build with McArthur again in the future!
McArthur homes were so easy to work with and the selections included were comparable and even above other home builders in the area. The communication each week was so helpful in knowing what was happening and so exciting to see everything come together.
We loved working with Sales staff Kira and Merrilee. We mainly worked with Kira. She was super easy to work with and would always communicate quickly and respond to needs we had arise throughout the construction process. On the other hand I was not impressed with McArthur's Construction process itself. Having been in the construction industry myself for many years the time frame McArthur provided and deadlines that were given to us after we contracted was ridiculous. Our house sat at framing stage for two months with all concrete done and not one thing was completed for two months. A home our size should not take 10 months to build. Arrive Homes was still cranking their homes out in as little as six months and they are much bigger more complex plans. I was very disappointed at how the jobs have been run and quality control from a construction management perspective was horrible. The subcontractors were blowing and going leaving tons of messes and there was zero quality control given to most of these homes built in Sunrise Ranch. Our construction manager went ahead and had our carpet installed one month before our home was completed. Numerous subs were found walking all over our brand new carpet. The carpet was laid before our finish electrical and plumbing was done. Insulators were blowing our insulation in our attic and walking all over brand new carpet ladders mud shoes dust dirt grime. Safe to say who ever managed these projects was not using any common sense. Our new house was not new when we moved in it. ZERO QUALITY CONTROL. Sales staff solid 10 in my book construction staff managers subcontractors 2 out of 10.
Build quality is good, but lack of disclosing information on multiple occasions created unneeded stress.
Yes, of course, however it would be important that they seek to have better quality control in the work carried out by the contractors, we take care of the finishes
Terrible process and experience. I understand that COVID has made things complicated for builders but it didn’t feel like McArthur made any extra effort to be accommodating, understanding, or proactive. Communication was poor throughout the whole process. Many issues could have been resolved or mitigated with better communication. I would not build with McArthur again or recommend them.
I love my home just not the experience that i got building my home. Things at first went good, but as the build went on it wasn't.
Overall satisfied with the quality of the home, cosmetically it is acceptable, but by no means fine craftsmanship. Hoping that the underlying structure was more of a priority. Purchasing process was very frustrating and unprofessional, however the caveat here is that I did purchase after another client had backed out on the home. I think if you start the process from the very beginning with McCarthur, it is likely to be smoother.
I have mixed feelings towards McArthur Homes and the experience I had with them. On the surface, things are great. They have a good system in place and they have good people working for them. And I understand that construction projects have their fair share of unexpected and unavoidable problems. But what bothered me about my experience with McArthur Homes was the way I was treated through those problems. Though technically you could say they addressed any concerns I had, they did not leave me feeling like they had listened to me and had done all they could to make things right. I felt like they were a lot of talk without much action to back that up. I also have been more disappointed than I expected to be with some of the quality of finishes and completion of my home.
