We had a very smooth experience with our build. We've never built a new home before and were a bit nervous about what to expect. Everyone at Kent was so helpful and friendly. If we had questions they would get answers. We're very happy with our new home.
Budget Pre-Con - We really never gave them a budget number. We wanted the house done with the options that were important to us. Everyone we worked with was helpful with that.
Design Center & Selections - We totally enjoyed making our selections. Alina was very helpful. We took the advice to review material beforehand and it made the process very easy.
Sales Attentiveness - Kate has been helpful and informative through the entire process.
Sales Solutions - Kate has been helpful with suggestions when we’ve had questions or concerns. Built-in bookshelves were on our wish list. Now they’re going to be in our study thanks to her advice.
Lead Source - Seeing model homes on site
Additional Comments - We initially heard about Kent by seeing the model homes. As we continued our search we now have friends and have met numerous people that have built homes with Kent. All have had great experiences and that made us feel even better about our decision to go with Kent.
Problem Resolution - We had some issues right at move in with our landscaping. Kent made sure the situation was resolved promptly and to our satisfaction.
Employees & Subcontractors - The only issue we had with a subcontractor was with our landscaper. Ultimately, thanks to Kent the problems were resolved to our satisfaction and in a timely manner. We are appreciative of that. But there were a few upsetting instances throughout the landscape process that we wish could have been avoided.
Punchlist - Major items were taken care of quickly. We have never done a new build before and weren't really expecting so many items to still be on a list at our walk through. Many were taken care of quickly, which was appreciated. But there are still a few and there were some that took a good deal of time that were relatively important.
Quality Of Workmanship - Our new home is lovely and we are very happy with it. Again, we have never built a new home, so something that surprised us was the workmanship of the paint job. There just seemed to be quite a few areas where we found paint splatter on the fixtures or flooring. It wasn't anything catastrophic, but just surprised us and seemed sloppy.
Additional Comments - We are very happy in our new home and proud to share it with family and friends. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kent Homes to anyone considering building a new home in the area. Our overall experience was extremely positive. Every person we came in contact with who worked for Kent was friendly, courteous, and helpful.

Lead Source - Visit to Brunswick Forest during Coastal Home Weekend, went to open house, met Kayla, high praise from Ryan Lipchek of CBUSA a customer and friend of mine.
Additional Comments - appreciate the written communications, every step and expectation communicated well
Recommend Builder - The process of building with Kent Homes thus far has been organized and professional. The bi-weekly meetings with our project manager are helpful to keep us informed about the building process and schedule.
Kent Homes presents a great quality home. Their sales and selections staff have carefully guided us though the purchase and design of our new home. We have had nothing but positive experiences with Kent Homes.
Lead Source - Model home at St. James.
Design Center & Selections - Alina Aviles was fantastic & made the whole process enjoyable.
Sales Attentiveness - Kate has always been attentive to our needs & was a great advocate.
Lead Source - Visited model home at Brunswick Forest.
I definitely would recommend but to put a 5 means in my mind it was close to flawless. I think 4 stars is a good score from me.
Professional & Organized - The only thing I would improve here is your organization is so process driven that it can be irritating. I mean I worked for a Fortune 500 company and we had less documentation at times than you guys do. I know customers get out of control and I know there is a happy medium just not sure you are quite there. The people themselves are fine so I think this is more of a management thing.
Schedule - As best they could with some items
Problem Resolution - Again with Warranty items Randy and Nancy were quick to respond and I appreciatee it. They did not make me feel stupid when I had some issues.
Communication - Chad, Nancy and Randy were good with communication especially Chad in answering questions. I would say on the sell side that you have standard options we miht have considered if you had shown us the whole list before contract signing. I think this is a tug a war between customer and builder. You don't really want options even standard ones that are unusual and we might have. On the flip side, it really is not that big of a deal so 4 stars.
Clean & Safe - Was out of state so I did not see the job site that much. When I was there, it seemed fine.
Employees & Subcontractors - Only one electrician was kind of rude but outside of that I think everyone has been professional and courteous and careful not to like track dirt in the house where possible.
Value - I would say it seemed fine. Not great but certainly good. We were happy we built when we did and I will say Kent did not try to upcharge us when pricing spiraled up. Value is a toughie but Kent was solid.
Trust - Not worried about Kent not following through.
Punchlist - Still waiting for 2 windows so I had to give this a 4 but that is more outside of Kent's control. From a customer standpoint though, it is a bit irritating but remember ratin is relative.
Quality Of Workmanship - Generally I would say pretty good. I think the tile could have been done better especailly in the master bath. Some of this is being address under warranty but it really should have been better. Other then some small items though everythig is pretty good. We have had a number of houses and this is one of the better ones so far.
Additional Comments - I think in this time period it is really hard to review because the building market is crazy, the supply chain is crap, the employees are a bit frazzled. Overally I think you hung in well. Chad was also willing to do a couple of things he did not have to and was quick to answer questions. I appreciated that.
Lead Source - We stopped in the Pierre model and were impressed with the model as well as Kate DaSilva
Use Comments - Kate and Vanessa have been exceptional! Highly recommend Kent Homes!
Lead Source - Brett Russell Brunswick Forest Realty, Kate DaSilva Kent sales
Sales Attentiveness - Kate is incredibly attentive, responsive and helpful. She is an amazing asset to your company.
Lead Source - Brunswick Forest Salesman Chris Dedrick
They did a great job at building our home.
Construction Quality - We are still in building process, but so far everything is going well.
Problem Resolution - Everything is being addressed, but we still have 8 weeks until completion. They have been very responsive.
Understand Building Process - We meet with project manager every 2 week. They always answer our questions, and gives tentative scheduling.
Communication - Wre meet every other week, and anytime a text or call they respond immediately.
Clean & Safe - The job site is still active.
Professional & Organized - They are very responsive. There were a couple of glitched, but all was worked out.
Overall Experience - We are in the middle of completion, but everyone is responsive and is very caring. They wants their products to meet our expectations.
Punchlist - We are still working through some things.
Additional Comments - We are very happy with our home.
Top Quality and nice to work with.
Sales Attentiveness - Susan was outstanding, but she did not close the sale.
Sales Communication - Susan Lyons was outstanding at answering my question. Kayla Paladino was not good at answering my questions.
Lead Source - First saw on websites for St. James, Brunswick Forest, and Compass Pointe. Then the model homes and agent recommendations sold us on Kent Homes.
This is not our first experience building a new home or making major renovations and was substandard compared to other experiences.
Lead Source - I heard about Kent Homes through a designer I used, Phyl Ray.
Additional Comments - Overall, so far the process has gone very smoothly, and I feel confident the build will as well. Everyone has been professional and courteous. Everyone has been wonderful, from the lowest to the highest person. I am extremely pleased.
Lead Source - St. James real estate office ( Eddie Addison) and seeing model homes in area
Additional Comments - Kent Homes has a very reputation in the area ( and we talked to many neighbors). They pay attention to detail and have very nice features to all their models.
Customer Suggestion - Provide a build timeline sheet or what is done in each process at each stage ...i didnt see one.
We selected Kent because of its price point for a floor plan that met our needs and its reputation as a top-of-the-line builder in Compass Pointe.
Budget Pre-Con - Carol Hobbs was very good at listening to us talk through design considerations and offering suggestions that we likely would not have considered. For example, going with an extra wide garage door to make access easier.
Change Order Process - My understanding of the change order process: don't. Just get it right by the time plans are signed.
Communication - The only point that could have been communicated better is the overall process going from sales contract through ready-to-frame.
Design Center & Selections - Design center was a bit of challenge. We came up with good selections, but our consultant felt a bit distracted. Moreover, she left Kent's employment after our in-person session but before we completed Selections and our process ended up being delayed. We did have one mis-communication on what we wanted electrically that was caught by the drafting team and resolved in time. In addition, the Selections process has a built-in Catch-22 scenario. Customers are asked to make selections without understanding pricing. In our case, the front door we selected in the Kent studio was an $8,000 up-charge. That was quickly deleted once we reviewed the pricing.
Overall Experience - Challenges with understanding the overall process and getting through Selections drive the reduced rating.
Customer Suggestion - Take a look at what you're doing to educate customers on the overall process and what key decisions need to be focused on and when. A couple of simple one-pagers would likely better communicate what decisions need to be made up front vs. later. Also, an overview of the overall process and expected timeframes would be helpful.
Lead Source - Referral from Kent customer - Greer family
This had been the best choice we could have made. Every thing was just as explained even with these tough times
Sales Problem Resolution - I had no concerns.
Lead Source - I heard about them through the land developer.
Additional Comments - They were one of the best choices ever made.
Construction Quality - Everything is exactly as they described
Problem Resolution - There realty has not been a problem as they brought any issue to us with a resolution already planned and always in our favor
Understand Building Process - Everything was explained upfront
Overall Experience - This is easily a 5+ compared to the nightmares we have heard of
Recommend Builder - Without doubt
Customer Suggestion - None they already do it
Budget Pre-Con - As much as they could in these crazy times we're living in right now!
Change Order Process - Yes
Communication - Yes
Design Center & Selections - Alina was/is terrific. Very patient and hard working lady!
Overall Experience - To date it's all been great!
Professional & Organized - No question here.
Sales Attentiveness - Yes
Sales Knowledge - Absolutely
Sales Solutions - Absolutely
Salesperson Accessibility - Very much so.
Salesperson Professionalism - Honestly, I butted heads with Kayla a few times during the initial process but to her credit she was and is very courteous and very professional in her demeanor and provided us with excellent and honest service thus far. Kayla is very responsive & knowledgable and if she wasn't sure of something she was diligent and honest enough to get the correct answers and information to us in a timely manner. I do look forward to working with Kayla throughout the build process as well as whoever our assigned project manager will be. I have every confidence in Kayla to provide us with whatever we need going forward with our build.
Trust - So far so good!
Understanding Of Cost - The selections process and reviewing the Community Options Pricelist before we met with Alina was daunting and stressful but Alina was awesome and we were diligent buyers that did our best to understand the process as well as the offerings and associated up charges for the options we chose, which of course, was a lot more than we anticipated but feel that in the end we will get what we want and be very happy with our new Kent home.
Value - These are obviously very weird and crazy times we are living in currently considering the pandemic, market demand, supply chain issues, etc., and felt vulnerable and stressed out a bit regarding the pricing increase threat but did our best to understand and keep things in perspective.
Customer Suggestion - We were somewhat disappointed that Kent does not offer Egg Shell paint finish as an option and we were limited to a flat finish on all the interior walls. We know it's a small thing but for us that was frustrating as the egg shell paint finish is what we've always used in our homes as it's very durable and easy to clean, etc. The jury is till out on the landscaping portion of our build as well, which is also very important to us so we can't really offer a final assessment as well as the actual building process which has just started.
Lead Source - We visited many model homes in Compass Pointe and Brunswick Forest and was impressed with the Kent models we saw and researched ALL the authorized builders for both communities as well as asked around and felt comfortable that Kent would be a good fit for what we were looking for in a builder and so far so good for the most part.
Additional Comments - Not really. Our experience with Kayla in sales and Alina in design has been excellent thus far as well as any dealings we've had with the Kent office staff as well including Ashley Kent, the CEO.
Lead Source - I heard about them through my family.
Have mixed feelings we recommending. There are areas that need improving.
Lead Source - Our friends built with Kent
Concerns & incomplete items post walk through mostly corrected. Thorough and reactive to concerns.
Communication - So far no issues.
Design Center & Selections - Design center and Vanessa were exemplary.
Lead Source - Brunswick Forest sales team.
Professional & Organized - Warranty dept. is proficient at communicating.
Schedule - Met home completion date although many items were not finished.
Budget - Yes, costs remained consistent with contract.
Problem Resolution - Yes, most issues were resolved.
Expertise - Professional and courteous.
Communication - Through each step of construction.
Clean & Safe - Mostly.
Employees & Subcontractors - Mostly. Some confusion with non English speaking subcontractors.
Value - Costs were held to contract.
Trust - Yes, Kent Homes has earned our trust.
Punchlist - For the most part yes. Some long lead times on items that were supposed to be completed by walkthrough.
Quality Of Materials - Good quality materials used in build.
Quality Of Workmanship - Good workmanship.
Additional Comments - Chad Lee was reactive and reliable. Appreciate his concern with our satisfaction. Nancy at warranty services is good to work with.
Options - i expected more tile tile selections and ways to make my home seem more personal.
Use Comments - Beautiful models and helpful sales associates.
Lead Source - Visited Brunswick Forest and we liked their models.
Additional Comments - Dade was our Project Manager and we thought he was very professional, communicated well, and related well to our concerns.
PM Professionalism - Archie has been great. He is very responsive and answers our questions.
Value - The landscaping prices were overpriced. The landscaper knows they have a captive audience and they overcharge. As an example they wanted $2000 to put pine straw in the unfinished back yard. I got this done afterwards for $420. Drainage prices were also extremely expensive and the drains are not coping when there is high rain fall.
Punchlist - The punchiest process has been relatively tedious. I understand that there are budgets, etc. but from a customer perspective the warranty team was EXTREMELY efficient whereas the punchlist process has been rather tedious. My recommendation would be to figure out how to hand over the punchist items to the warranty team to have a much smoother customer experience.
Additional Comments - When we moved into the house we were very disappointed that the house was not sparkling clean. We spent the first few days cleaning the house. I understand that it was just before Xmas but a brand new home should be 100% clean and ready to move into.
Our experience thus far has been easy and pleasurable.
Sales Attentiveness - Kate has been a superstar throughout the process. It’s been 3 years since we found our lot and she’s been supportive and on top of things the whole time.
Sales Knowledge - We had long discussions with both Kate and Lucas from Bill Clark. Both were very personable and knowledgeable, but we found ourselves always coming back to Kate and Kent. It just felt like it was where we supposed to end up.
Value - In this environment value is relative, but we feel Kent has tried very hard to keep options and costs in line with expectations of the marketplace.
Everyone is easy to work with and are very responsive to questions or concerns.
Communication - Kent always responds quickly to emails and the project manager meets by phone with us every 2 weeks. If I have an urgent question, I feel like I can text our project manager.
Design Center & Selections - Alina in the design center worked very thoroughly and diligently with us and we never felt rushed to make decisions. Alina also re-worked a few areas of our home with the ideas we had (that were not on the custom options list) and listened carefully to what we wanted. We are very happy with these changes.
Professional & Organized - Kent's policies and procedures are clearly outlined. All the employees are very professional and easy to get along with.
Sales Attentiveness - Carol is the BEST! We had a million questions and thoughts, and she carefully listened and guided us through the process.
Sales Knowledge - Carol knows so much about all of the floor plans and options. She helped us weigh options to suit our budget.
Sales Problem Resolution - We had a concern about our floor plan and the lot lines. Carol went back to her engineer twice and resolved the placement of the house on our lot to our satisfaction.
Sales Solutions - The custom options booklet for our floor plan is very extensive. Carol helped us navigate through the options and weigh them carefully. She also went above and beyond to produce an acceptable solution for our loggia enclosure.
Salesperson Accessibility - Carol always responds within a couple of hours. She is very accessible to meet in person also.
Salesperson Knowledge - Carol's meetings are short and to the point. We were able to go through the plans/contract item-by-item with her and she answered many questions throughout this process.
Salesperson Professionalism - Carol is a great "problem solver" and knows who to contact to get answers quickly.
Options - The custom booklet was large and comprehensive. I feel like every home is semi-custom because the options that are important to you can be added.
Lead Source - from the St. James webpage and the builders showcase weekend.
Additional Comments - We are so happy that we decided on Kent Homes. We are very excited to build a semi-custom home that is budget-friendly. We know the quality and craftsmanship will be excellent, and we felt like we could make the Pierre's Bay floor plan into our very own custom home. Not only are all of the custom options provided with this floor plan well thought-out, but when we wanted truly custom items in our home, Kent was able to make those changes as well.
Problem Resolution - OMG! Kenny, our project manager, has been absolutely amazing in his thoroughness! Highly recommend him
PM Professionalism - Without Kenny we would be lost. I can't tell you how many times I have praised Kenny and his masterful work on our house.
Professional & Organized - Every step of the way was very organized
Schedule - The build was completed early and well within the time frame.
Budget - The costs never exceeded our budget- we were very happy .
Problem Resolution - Went over and above to solve issues or concerns that arose during construction
Expertise - Project Manager was very knowledgeable and helpful during our build
Communication - Had weekly phone calls and periodic emails/calls as the need arose
Clean & Safe - All of the trades cleaned up and our project manager checked behind them.
Employees & Subcontractors - Always!
Value - I received a higher valued product than what I thought I would be able to

GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the opportunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Kent Homes as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
