Warranty Work - Our warranty manager AJ went above and beyond to complete the warranty items during our one-year review. Everything was done to our complete satisfaction and he actually corrected a few things that weren't even on our punch list. Great experience!
Work Done Right - After more than a year, we have had no unexpected issues so I trust that the work was done right the first time. We also hired a private home inspector just before our one-year warranty review. He also did not find anything of major concern and the minor issues were all addressed by AJ, our warranty manager.
Employees & Subcontractors - All of the Kent Homes employees and subcontractors that we dealt with from start to finish were professional and courteous.
PM Professionalism - As our Project Manager, Dade Dutton was very knowledgeable and professional. He kept us informed of our home's progress during construction and answered all of our questions.

The Kent Team is committed to excellence in their craft and in their service. If we found something that did not meet our expectations, their spirit of service addressed the gaps. We felt our needs were at top of mind.
Change Order Process - This process was covered in person and in writing. That really helped us understand the workflow. Carol Hobbs also coached us on the Change Order process as an extra measure of assistance.
Communication - When we were iin the shopping phase, Carol Hobbs was by far the best sales professional me met. And we met many. Carol listened carefully to our needs, read between the lines when we didn't know what to say, and offered ideas to think about. Most significantly, Carol followed up. She reliably and consistently showed us that she and Kent wanted our business in our time. Her professionalism sealed the deal for me: I really could not imagine buying our home from anyone but Carol.
Overall Experience - Yes. Carol, Alina and Chris (whom we met on our selections visit) were all friendly and knowledgeable. If they didn't know something, they asked and then followed up with us.
Professional & Organized - Yes. I would add transparent to that as well, which is a key differentiator for your company. I do believe, however, that there's an opportunity to be more organized when defining the floorplan and selections.
Sales Attentiveness - She's a rock star. And she does a great job coordinating the team. Approachable and transparent.
Sales Knowledge - Always. Carol knows your process, the players and how it will all shake out. She has an impressive body of knowledge.
Sales Problem Resolution - Yes. When we had questions, Carol dug for answers until we were satisfied.
Salesperson Accessibility - Even when she was on vacation, Carol would answer the phone of shoot us an email. Most importantly, she stuck with us through a very long sales cycle, and she did it without being buggsy.

Lead Source - We looked at model homes 10 years ago after having purchased our property. Since then, we have been faithful internet scouts.

Trust - If someone on the team cannot keep a commitment, that person communicates their intentions and sets a new target.
Employees Professionalism - We may be an anomaly, but some communication from the accounting staff has had a tone of exasperation.
PM Professionalism - Archie is totally on top of his responsibilities. We have observed his interactions with subs, and it's clear they respect him. That's especially nice to see because Archie treats everyone with respect. He holds his authority lightly, yet manages the details. He's great with customers as well. Both Corey and I hold Archie in high regard.
Customer Suggestion - The landscape contractor did not give the same level of service as your Kent team. The landscaper cancelled an appointment and rescheduled for understandable reasons. THen the rescheduled appointment was missed with no contact from him for at least another week. We know everyone is busy, but too busy to send a text? Given that the landscaping line item is a guaranteed minimum in our contract with a sub of your choice,, this level of service does not leave a good impression.
Expertise - We are delighted with the project managemnt skill of Carol, Archie and Nancy.
Communication - I am confident that Kent transfers the necessary information in verbal or written form. That's not the same as aligning expectations. Copious verbal communication can be a lot for a customer to process: we may miss unintended consequences. On the Kent side of communication, you expertise may cloud your perception of what needs to be explained to clients who do not build houses or deal with detailed.contracts. I am giving this 5 stars because you treated us very well and accommodated many blips with us. Corey and I are confident that we accommodated blips as well. Wouldn't it be more efficient if 90% of those blips were eliminated?
Employees & Subcontractors - The stonemason stands out as an exemplary subcontractor. We could see how he considered each piece, size and color, befote fixing it to our foundation. We also enjoyed a gentleman who has worked for Kent for years and now does small jobs (like finishing closets?) Its refreshing to meet an engaged employee who articulates how he cares about his employer and his work.
Value - Yes, but. :-) Continued interaction with the landscaper has been less than perfect. Our perception: his team had a literal hay day covering our property with pine straw without cleaning or grading the land. Corey reached out to the landscape sub to discuss a reasonable resolution after our last visit. We gave Patrick time to initiate contact, but that didn't happen. A leader committed to brand, reputation and quality would have called us first. Corey and Patrick agreed that he would fertilize the strip of grass. We are done.
Trust - Absolutely! Nancy is super speedy on her follow through. AJ is learning, he has great charisma for a client-facing role. Alina helped me several times as a courtesy. I hope i did not take advantage of her; that was not my intention. I now know that she is not "my designer." I have run out of catchy superlatives for Carol and Archie: they are devoted to your brand and to our satisfaction, it shows in everything they do and say. Bravo.

Additional Comments - Thank you for facilitating our dishwasher claim. I was concerned that we would be outside some timeline because we are long-distance movers, but that doesnt appear to be the case. Nancy has followed this process and kept me in the loop. I feel like she cares and thats the goal. Did i say that Archie and Carol are rock stars? Their ability to build caring relationships with people like us causes us to forgive the very tiny misfires that the universe puys in their path. Grace begets grace. We would recommend Kent as a high quality customer-driven and helpful builder.
I have had an extremely positive experience with Kent Homes during the build process. Being remote most of the time, communication has been important; my project manager has kept me informed of progress on a regular basis and will reach out if there are any urgent items that need to be discussed. The team is professional and has taken care to keep the job site clean. Doing the work right and in a quality manner seems to be important.
Clean & Safe - I am building remote but my neighbors on multiple occasions have gone out of their way to me know that the site is kept clean and the contractors are professional.
PM Professionalism - Kenny communicates with me on a regular basis to keep me informed of progress and what to expect. He is proactive in planning ahead to eliminate any delays or quality issues. He is well organized.
Communication - I agree for the most part. I expected all our information to be loaded to the Kent Homes client portal for our viewing. That happened at the very beginning of the process but not so much as the process went along. I had to ask before the portal caught up with our info. Once that happened we are good. I attribute the hiccup to growing pains in coming to grips with the new pandemic environment. Having said that our Project Manager is great. Chris Moore is very good at communicating exactly we are in the construction process and what we can expect to take place moving forward.

Overall Experience - For first-time home builders, we have had an amazing experience from the very start to where we are now. As I mentioned above, for many reasons we waited almost 5 years to start our build, and it was a new beginning and a turning point for us, and somehow Kate read that, and shared in our excitement.
Trust - The pre-construction process was flawless, and based on where we are with the build, I trust Kent a million percent. We understand that there can be delays, especially due to Covid, but Kenny to us has worked miracles on this build. There is another lot down the block from ours, using a different builder. That construction started a full month before ours, and right now all that's there is a foundation. Our home is pretty much fully framed out. That is amazing to me.
Understanding Of Cost - Clear and concise no hidden costs, and upgrade prices were clear and easy to understand.
Value - In today's market and compared to home prices in the North where we came from, I could never afford this home in Long Island NY
Options - Between what standard in the base model and the options we selected, I know there is nothing we'll say "we should have done that when we built the house". We will have everything we want.
Use Comments - Don't look any further for your build then Kent! That's the advice I would give new home builders.

Problem Resolution - Once a problem has been identified or pointed out (by us) Kent is quick to resolve. The Project Managers seem to have a lot on their plate and isn't always the one to notice a problem.
Customer Suggestion - We believe Kent has taken on more than they can control with the level of quality that they tout. They don't have the level of control over contractors that they need to have which results in mistakes along the way.

Budget Pre-Con - A suggestion: we knew our landscape budget would be light going in but helping us know what some of the options we had with the outside items before we signed the contract with Kent would have helped. It would have helped with our work with the Bank financing.
Customer Suggestion - Let people know that during their selection process that depending upon when they start building that the chosen vendor selections my longer exist when comes time with building. We experience that several times already and we've just started construction.

ITEMS INCLUDED IN THE SELECTIONS THAT WERE NOT ACTUALLY REVIEWED BUT SHOW UP ON LIST. Design Center & Selections - The selection process and support at the design center was good. But the process leading up to the 2 day selection event could have been explained better. We received the Kent catalog selections list ahead of time but it looked very much like the base contract. The email didn't explain well enough that part of the process, just that the list is quite big and we can review it as we like. So I thought I was just looking at the contract again (the selections catalog and the quote pick list look very similar of course) and did not realize the selections list was an exhaustive list of options we needed to go through and better prepare for selections day. not until after the selections day did it sink in that reviewing the options list ,ore thoroughly would have helped us pick out a couple more options to our liking ( appliances, for instance). It's all going to work out but if we knew then what we know now about the process we would have been a bit more informed and capable to select our very best options.
