It's surprises like this that sour a person's experience, so telling my friends ahead is the right thing to do!!

Areas For Improvement - I have shared this with Nancy but just after the warranty expired a closet in the 2nd bedroom collapsed. Ther were no anchors in wood just sheetrock. The third bedroom closet fell just after they installed them. They corrected it and they assured me it was due to an installation issue and the other closet would be fine. The closet they repaired was also falling and had to be reinforced. The landscaper was not very responsive and also took a long time to agree to replace about 100 pieces of sod in the yard. The mulch was sparse and not as deep as recommended but they would not fix.

The whole process with the construction was amazing. We had a few days to make our initial selections from a wide range of choices. we had a week or two to review those selections and reached out to Kent with several questions that were all answered quickly. The actual building process went smoothly. Any time an issue arose it was immediately brought to our attention and then we resolved with our PM Kenny Jones. We had bi-weekly meetings with our PM and again were kept abreast of the construction. Kenny sent us pictures as the process went along and the house was completed on time. We are extremely pleased with the result. Please remember we live in NY and were not there so the fact that the process went smoothly says a lot about Kent and Kenny.

We did not want a door on the master toilet area, and we had several calls discussing the specifics of the opening, etc. In all cases, he made suggestions that were perfect and steered us away from things that would not work. Finally a need came up to install a $2,000 roll back drain in the driveway. We did not care to lay out the money but he convinced us to install the drain. We are glad we did.

Trust - Without a doubt we had full trust in Kenny. It is not easy to be 650 miles away from the building site and spend a good amount of cash to build a new home, and never feeling the need to travel to NC and check up on the house. Kenny was trustworthy and followed through on commitments.

Orientation Punch List - This is still a work in progress, but Kenny is doing an excellent job of managing the completion of items on the punch list. He had the foyer chandelier installed and swapped out the light bulbs in that light and the light in the dining room per our request. He sent us pictures of both fixtures with the light bulbs to get our confirmation. Similarly, I was concerned with the keys not opening the garage convenience door and the garage entranceway door, but Kenny went over to the house to rectify the issue.

My wife and I happened to bump into Kayla at the second model, she was extremely knowledgeable. Kent has exceeded them all by a very wide margin. it is unusual today to find a company that does what they say the way they say they will do it, in the time they say they will do it, and not only in the time, but sooner. This was a wonderful experience and a confidence building one. I could not recommend Kent any more highly. Give them a chance to earn your business and you will walk away with trust.

And love that basic needs like gutters are included and all the costs are up front other than landscaping. They have tried several remedies with diverters and caulking but to no avail. I was also told they no longer offer this option. Too late for us.

We wish the plumbing issue could have been resolved quicker, but we are happy that it's finally completed.

I have heard from other neighbors that he was very helpful and went above and beyond for them as well.

Additional Comments - When doing the pre-drywall walkthrough, we found several items needing to be corrected (which they were). Having found & reported the items at that time saved Kent thousands of dollars for plumbing, electrical, and general contractor labor costs in avoiding having to fix later. It would have been a great gestor for Kent to have waived a CWA fee for a minor change we requested.

Areas For Improvement - Not all items from selections and/or reflected on plans were always done right the first time. Items were ultimately always fixed but surprised with items that were missed by trades. I presume they just get in the habit of doing some routine things and don't always check the plans. A couple misses likely stemmed to drafting issues. Luckily, we paid for an extra floor outlet for had we not, there would be no power in the vicinity of the media closet as the plans showed an outlet in the wall which could not be installed due to the framing in that wall. Lighting in the Loggia also was not great on the drawings, but ultimately Kenny had the issues rectified in the wiring phase. I'm just mentioning this should someone want the feedback to relay back to the early steps in the process.

I think I just like we are able to fit our entire family in a house that is not enormous because of their floor plans. They are very multi-generation friendly.

We had a lot of trying to figure out the island and getting it to look more like a piece of furniture instead of a slab in the middle of the floor. She did so much leg work pulling things together, helping me understand how things were the way they were. It was a joint effort. I was excited about how we did that. She was great!

Customer Suggestion - M suggestion would to be more open to other options and possibly even if someone has a suggestion or idea about what they want to bring, helping them source it and make it a part of their package to have it installed by them. If you find something not in their showroom, then you have to figure out how you will get it installed. It goes back to having more options, even if you are building off one piece off of their grouping, you can't make it streamline. There will be one piece missing, and you can't close the gap. There are not enough choices with lighting, and appliances is really a big thing. There are no real high-end appliances, and then if you do go outside you get almost nothing for a credit. It wouldn't cover 1 appliance. They just don't have enough options. They should have higher end appliance and light packages that allow you to go in between. They just use one company for the fixtures, like the faucets, and that is it. It makes it really difficult.

Areas Of Satisfaction - I felt like with trying to get in touch with Ella and work through my frustration with the lack of options, she was really able to get me to a point where I was still able to say this was fine. I think you have ideas in your head, and in all fairness, if they cave to every detail everyone wanted it is not a semi custom home. That probably is something that not everyone understands that well, the difference between custom and semi custom homes. They are very accessible, and I was surprised they were as accessible. If Ella said she was going to call, she called. If she said she was available at a certain time, she was there.
