We had our guest bathroom remodel competed by KBR. I am very pleased with the outcome and they will definitely be my first choice in any future bath remodel. The workers made sure to cover their walk path with floor coverings and removed them and all trash at the end of the day. The project manager listed to any concerns and made sure to relay to the workers. There were a couple of change orders, to be expected, and all were fairly priced. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous.

There were several change orders as the remodeling went along...some due to unexpected challenges that the company had pointed out might happen, and some were due to during construction discovery. In all cases KBR was quick to respond, draft a change order and get it approved quickly. The attention to detail in the actual work was amazing and the communication from the technicians was excellent. Efforts were so good that we added a second 1/2 bath project to the overall effort. Overall Schedule was held up by a shower glass issue that was not anticipated by either KBR or us, but with all the COVID-caused delays, this had minimal impact in the end. We are very pleased with the results of both and would recommend KBR to all.

We had KBR renovate our kitchen and four bathrooms as well as do more than 70% of the flooring in our home...all while we were overseas for work. The price was right for all the work we required. We shopped around and know that for quality products/service, we were offered a reasonable rate. They did an amazing job working with us on our design requests and allowing my father do the walk through/check ins, etc. Once we moved back, we were so impressed with the overall renovation. From the workmanship to the follow up service (I had one small request and sent an email one evening...they sent technicians the following morning to address my request.), they have been wonderfully professional and accommodating. We eventually came to a resolution which I’m happy about, but I think during the time it was an open issue, more upfront details about why something wouldn’t work would have been helpful for me. Then again I’m a details person so I want to know that info, not everyone may care, but if we had talked through the specific measurement issue at the start, and admittedly, I could have asked for them as well, we may not have had the delay of getting to a resolution, as I was waiting for updates on other sink options when in fact there probably wasn’t any and I think they knew that too. In the end, it all worked out, but I think more upfront sharing of info related to the issue would have alleviated the stress/concern I had while that issue was pending.

Areas For Improvement - There were a few aspects of attention to detail I wish they had caught and some basic follow through that could be improved. The doorway to the kitchen was widened and extended up, but the height of the doorway is a couple of inches shorter than the nearby entry to the dining room entrance on the same wall. It’s apparent the height is different and looks a little odd with two different height entries on the same wall just 4 feet apart. Unfortunately we didn’t note this until the project was done and it’s not a big enough problem to redo the entire doorway, but it would have been nice to get it right from the beginning. Similarly, we were told we’d get a stock cabinet door in addition to our glass cabinet door for the corner cabinet but never received it despite multiple mentions about it near the end of the job. We also weren’t overwhelmed with the quality of the wood flooring that was installed. They placed the longest pieces of new flooring where the peninsula would sit on and shorter pieces in what would be the middle of the kitchen. (This isn’t their fault but the GC and foreman should have talked through the layout and where to place the prime wood down.). We also needed them to come back to refinish a few areas that weren’t very well stained (which they did). Lastly, I wish I was aware of how much damage would be done to the living room wall behind the kitchen, which I had to patch and repaint as a result of the work on the other side of the wall (in the kitchen).

I was impressed by the team’s cleanliness, efforts to mitigate dust, and timeliness throughout the project. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and professional throughout, something that we haven’t experienced with other contractors. We are currently considering using KBR again for some bathroom remodels. I’ve also recommended them to some neighbors and colleagues at work.

The experience with KBR at times had some mixed feelings. There were days I needed them to address items and they promptly did. It seemed that some of the preplanning could have gone a bit smoother to make construction run a bit better. I would highly recommend double checking everything prior to ordering items. Do not assume that it is taken care of. Ask for an explanation for the cabinetry (usually in a manufacture code) to make sure you are getting what you request. As with everything be your own advocate.

We've had to have them back several times to adjust cabinet doors that were uneven, didn't close properly, or hit cabinet doors next to them, but they have been accommodating to our requests.
