Hivex was great. Pricing was detailed and understandable from the beginning and never changed. Throughout the inevitably complex process we always felt "in the loop" due to clear and timely communication. Having a dedicated project manager that was available to answer questions at all times was a constant reassurance (plus Dimitrius was just fun to work with!). Our project (a completely custom home theater space and spa-like bathroom) was complicated, but the professionalism and skill of the Hivex team made it worry-free. A big "thank you" to the whole team.

Additional Comments - Just had my basement finished by HIVEX and the whole experience went really smoothly. The crew showed up on time, kept everything clean, and stayed on top of the details. They handled the whole process without any headaches—super organized and easy to work with. The end result looks great and everything turned out how I hoped. If you’re thinking about finishing your basement and want a team that knows what they’re doing, definitely give HIVEX a look.

Prefacing this review with transparency that I’m frustrated currently with their final response on one item. Will do my best to be objective.



In the end I’ve never had this scale of work done, but two houses I had built (including this one) had less issues. The deck I just had built also had less issues. So that is the best comparison I have for rating the work. Everything found during painting I haven't brought back to them. I simply can't afford it to take any longer to finish my basement and cost of repainting etc. If I'd known what I know now I may have chosen another contractor for my basement.

Additional Comments - HIVEX Basements was great with pricing and being honest about everything. I have had problems with contractors before about hidden fees. Chris, the owner, and others involved were upfront on every bit of the cost and every bit of the materials. That was probably the biggest thing for me. I can't stand it when contractors don't tell you the whole story. HIVEX Basements was really good about being upfront about everything.

Our "go to guy", NATE has been super in all areas such as communication, explanation of any issues, knowledge of every trade, & creative suggestions! All the trades-people have been very diligent in their specialties as well.

I would highly recommend HIVEX Basements to everyone! Not only do they provide quality work, but also they are extremely easy to work.

So far we've had a mixed experience. The project is getting done much more quickly than our self-managed projects, and the planning/sales process was very impressive. But the execution has been sloppy at times, and resulted in a myriad of inconveniences for the tenants living in the upstairs unit. We haven't seen the final project yet, so I can't say whether or not we'd recommend them just yet.

We feel fortunate to have had HIVEX finish our basement. We found them to be well organized, friendly, competent and trustworthy; and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. Just as importantly, we were really impressed with how the work was done. It was obvious to us that HIVEX has worked hard to create an impeccable process. From the start, Jess made an impression on us when providing an estimate for the project. She patiently helped us decide what we wanted our basement to look like and took pains to provide a transparent and comprehensive explanation of the scope work - including the floor plan and the agreement – to ensure that there were no misunderstandings or hidden costs. Once construction started, our knowledgeable and friendly project manager, Bob, took the time to explain things, offer suggestions, and remain immediately available to us if we had any questions or concerns. Bob even had his team members put up a temporary fence in our backyard to ensure that our dog wouldn’t get out when HIVEX team members accessed our basement walkout entry.
