Our home project was well executed from day one. the project was streamlined and the process was like a well oil machine! The expectations were well established during the initial consult and the schedule followed a planned timeline. The design phase was expedient and open to collaboration. Questions and considerations were welcomed. Our project manager, Bob, led the renovation with meticulous insight. Bob provided excellent, timely communication; provided a weekly update and plan for the following week; listened to my personal concerns; and reflected confidence in his craft. the crew completed each phase from framing, plumbing, electric, trim, drywall, and painting with great execution. the site was well maintained and kept neat each day. the team was considerate and allowed our daily routine to be uninterrupted. payments were delineated and planned out well without any hiccups. the end result is amazing --should have done this a lot sooner! a huge bonus was Hivex's assistance with cleaning out the basement and hauling away unwanted items ---the crew completed all the clean up in one hour---gold star service!!

Additional Comments - I enjoyed working with Benny my project manager he made the job flow with his coordination and knowledge of the work being done, when I asked for a change he smiled and accommodated us without question He and his team went above and beyond what we expected.

At plan finalization we were told that an access panel to the main water shut off could be placed in the shower/tub enclosure. On day one of construction we were told otherwise and ended up revising the configuration on-the-fly with the framers ready to start and so ended up with a door configuration we did not want. If we were told before day one that our lock would be removed and a different one installed to allow HIVEX access I don’t remember that. It would’ve been nice to know that beforehand. When our lock was returned, it had drywall mud hardened on it. The plastic lining put up to prevent dust from spreading ended up more symbolic than actually being a barrier once the workers tore a 2 foot wide opening in it. It was nice getting a weekly schedule, but at least on one day when we were told that no one would be here we had workers arrive. A ceiling fan was not mounted level, and I asked at least two people to fix it and was told it would be fixed or that I would need to buy a new fan. It was not fixed until near the end when an electrician had to come back to make a different repair, and I asked him if he could take a look at it and he did and fixed it in a few minutes, though he did leave fingerprints on the new ceiling. The toilet tank was mounted not centered on the stool. I was told that the cold air return for the basement would be enlarged to accommodate the newly installed living space but that never happened. Seems like HIVEX has a great system for their company with various work teams coming through, but it’s not really customer-oriented or customer-friendly having so many workers who are strangers coming into one’s home.

I'm thinking better communication between the project manager and the workers would be best in my opinion. There were some conversations that were not relayed to the work being done that could have saved some time along the way.
