We will be sure to tell them to not be afraid to ask any questions and look at all their home options as there are many to choose from.
I would recommend them to anyone who is going to build, I thought they were great.
It was an easy process going through building a new home. They were very cooperative when we asked questions and needed anything to be done.
Keep a watchful eye on all subcontractors.
nice area - nice quiet community - nice home (so far)
Want to give 5 stars for everything, as we love our home, neighborhood, and town, but are so disappointed in the way our lawn and drainage issues have been mishandled, and not responded to.
We already have!
As noted below:Craig Smoot was a pleasure to work with. He was a significant help in the entire process. Debbie Meenan has always been pleasant and responsive. The members of the design team that assisted us also were helpful. The exterior of the house reflects the good choices the entire EGStoltzfus team helped us make.
I would give EG Stoltzfus three stars because the only issue we had was we were promised at closing things and they weren't done in a timely manner.
I was very disappointed with the overall finish of the home. Based on the reviews we read, EGStoltzfus did not meet our expectations.
We have had almost no problems with the construction of our home and anything that did crop up was immediately repaired or checked.
I would certainly tell them there were things that I was not appreciative of. I would warn them of those things.
We were very pleasantly surprised with the timely completion of the project. The quality of material and craftsmanship was commendable.
It took 6 weeks to resolve an issue in my kitchen. I had no kitchen sink for 2 weeks.
It was a very comfortable experience working with EG Stoltzfus in purchasing my house and very happy with the process and customer service.
Our EG Stoltzfus provides a quality built home as well as employs quality personnel that are responsive to the client's needs.
We love our house; it's beautiful, and we're happy with it.
I thought EG Stoltzfus was a "Quality and exceptional builder" but I have found them to be at the best average.
Good quality construction. Superior walls in basement are excellent and the height of the basement is great. Many floor plans to choose from.
EGStoltzfus has great service and great people. They are very courteous!
We have not previously bought a residence which was to be constructed. I had always heard horror stories of how difficult that process was. Such was not the case with Stoltzfus and it's vendors. The whole experience was stress free and easy. Everyone we worked with went out of their way to ensure that every feature was the way we wanted it, even the positioning of the addition of grab bars in the shower and the location of the water control in the shower to accommodate reaching it easily from a shower chair.
Our entire homebuying process from start to finish with EG Stoltzfus has been nothing but a headache. To start, we were misinformed on the purchase price of the home. It was falsely advertised on their website and falsely told to us by Stephanie Lachance. We were not told that we needed to use EGS's lender and title company in order to get the advertised price until we went to submit the offer. This caveat was also not included on the EGS website anywhere. Our realtor had a very difficult time getting in contact with Stephanie throughout the entire process - from attempting to cancel showings 5 minutes beforehand, to being unable to reach her after we were told to expect a signed contract within 30 minutes After 5 days with no response, we had to go through Craig in order to receive the signed contract. Our signed contract included a few minor cosmetic changes to the home that were to be completed prior to the walkthrough. We followed up and reminded Stephanie about these numerous times, but these were not completed by the walkthrough. Kevin, the project manager from EGS who was also at the walkthrough, was condescending towards us and rushed us from start to finish. He grew annoyed by our questions about the home. However, within the first week of moving in, we discovered outlets that had no power, plumbing that was installed backwards, a lock on the back door that was broken, and many scratches and dents in the hardwood floors. Kevin also indicated that the nails in the hardwood installation are glued in, however we have discovered many nail pops in all of the rooms. Based on our experiences with EG Stoltzfus, we have a number of friends currently in the market for a new home and we have not recommended EGS.
It was a pleasure working with EGSoltzfus on our new home. We enjoyed the building process, love our home and would encourage others to build with the company.
We were very dissatisfied with the response from EG on the interior finish.
I didn't complain about too many things, but I did request the range be replaced with a glass top one and two toilets on main floor be replaced with comfort height ones due to my wife's RA. They are not good quality and I will be replacing these again myself. I have had my siding cracked by a stone thrown from the lawn service which I had to report to the HOA. Siding is very thin, cracks easily, took two months to get replaced. Window in sunroom was also broken after I moved in by the lawn service never acknowledged. Stolzfus replaced the glass, I had to pay 75 dollars for the glass. I have been picking rocks and digging massive stones out of the lawn, it's a rock garden held together by clay. I watched the excavators building houses across from my unit and it was not good seeing what they covered over with minimal soil. I see my neighbor has had crews out many times to try to make her lawn look presentable. The new ones being built off Hinkle Rd seem to have nice topsoil being dropped on their lawns. I was desperate to move, so I bought this sample condo, but I think a lot to be desired for a showcase model, now that I have lived here a little over a year and I know this was built months before I purchased it, Nov/Dec 2017. I had to have the sliding screen replaced as if had a hole in the screen, which was replaced in a timely manner. The hose bib on the patio had no visible shutoff valve. Had a shutoff which I thought was it, but it was redundant to the cold only in the kitchen. I got hold of the contract plumbers and they verified the shutoff was on the wrong feed, they corrected it free of charge, thankfully. I did inquire if they were going to build anymore units as I would liked to have picked some of the interior, but was told they were done, not true as I now have seen for myself.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of EGStoltzfus as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
