I wish I knew then what I know now. I would not have built this home. The quality of the finishing work is below the EG Stoltzfus reputation. There was a light hung crooked (not level) in the guest bath. I pointed it out at walk though and it was never addressed. The paint on the walls was done while there was debris on the walls from drywalling the house. My yard is a mud pit! I know my home was all but completed inside in October. I stopped on several occasions to see if there was someone working at the house. On at least 4 days in late October my house was empty. Why wasn't my yard seeded? There was plenty of time! Very poor quality in the finishing work. Landscapers dug up a communication line in the yard between my home and the neighbor's home. There is still a large hole with a orange cone and two boards. This is a liability for us as homeowners. It should have been addressed. I spoke to both landscapers on the day they made the mistake digging up the line. They told me they contacted their boss and EG. Yet, nothing has been done to correct it. Meanwhile there is excavating equipment across the street. Why not fill in the hole?
Everyone was very responsive. For the most part an excellent experience.
Some of the subcontracted people it seems the workmanship was rushed. Flooring, painting. Had to have flooring people out to fix glue residue on top of the LVP, powder room floor did not go all the way to wall (gaps). They came out and fixed.
There is a horrible sound in the walls when the wind blows as the siding is rubbing against the foam board insulation. Since there is no OSB on top of or behind the foam board. The scratching sound is horrible when the wind blows.
Also by not using OSB I can hear every roll of the neighbors garbage can from my bedroom. Very little noise protection with the foam board.
I am not the first (or probably the last) to complain about this. Some neighbors have had the scratching sound for 3 years without improvement as “the house settles”.
Lastly and maybe it’s the layout of the house, you can hear conversations quite easily through the walls of adjoining rooms. I’m not sure how much insulation is between rooms or if a thinner drywall was used (½” vs ¾”?)
But everyone has been very responsive to our questions, The cabinets are beautiful.
Had to have HVAC company out to rebalance the house. There was one air vent in an upstairs bathroom that was not even hooked up. How that got missed I do not know…
EGStoltzfus made the design process fun and manageable. They helped us make informed decision that fit our unique needs and wants. They offered excellent recommendations and advice to help us.
As I’m sure you know purchasing, designing and watching your home through the construction process is a bit frightening. I was very pleased the way it was accomplished through your company. Even now when a small problem comes up there is someone there to help resolve the issue. Thank you for your assistance.
Likely to recommend because we anticipate that the end product will be beautiful and well built. Potential buyers must understand that the EG process is rigid and the price of options can add up quickly, greatly increasing the total cost of the house.
The design team was helpful, knowledgeable, patient and professional. We appreciated them very much as they guided us through all of the many choices.
The entire Egstoltzfus process is friendly and EASY! They really make a dream home and make sure to listen to any concerns you have! They’re knowledgeable and timely to answer any questions! We’re very happy we went with a Egstoltzfus home! Loving it!
The entire house buying/construction process has been executed perfectly. We are pleased with the quality of construction, the timeliness of the schedule, and the professionalism of the staff.
We like the quality of the home. Loved the frequent communication during the build process. The design studio and selection process were outstanding and the staff top notch.
Quality work. All scheduled completion dates were adhered to. Prompt followup for any issues after closing.
They are a very well known and build quality homes; however, my experience moving into a brand new build has not been great. I have had major issues with my HVAC system which also resulted in flooring needing replaced, and a plumbing issue, resulting in the need for drywall and paint repair. Also, my exterior sidewalk lamp still does not work
This was our second time building a new home, but our first experience with EG Stoltzfus. The communication from the very beginning was far superior to our first experience with a different builder. The design process was seamless with everything done in one location versus needing to visit multiple showrooms/contractors for each design element.
Accurate communication, and timely execution of tasks.
Better quality dish washer and stove should be provided in a beautiful and pricey new home
I would recommend building with EG Stoltzfus to anyone! Re-sales aren’t the only option out there, and building gives you more of a say in the partial custom design. It was a first for me and a great experience. Thank you!!
Egs dropped the ball communicating and executing the final project stage
Some of my friends would prefer last restrictions.i
Everything was excellent.
I like the service, and the options available.
The Design studio experience was good . Further the builder always keep up with schedule. No surprises!
They are very responsive to any problems that arise.
Our family has always dreamed of owning a new EGStoltzfus home. We bought a QMI home, so we did not go through the typical build/design process, but we are very happy with the design choices used in the QMI. The process from contract to settlement was very smooth with all parties involved. We love our new house!
Great to work with at all stages of the development and building of our home.
EGStoltzfus does quality work.
Good builders, great support people, very responsive to call backs
I was very disappointed with the lack of concern for the high levels of radon in the house after we bought it. EGStoltzfus does not disclose the radon levels to buyers. The mitigation system did not remove the radon.
Yes, always receive prompt and professional service
I have already recommended them. Everyone who sees our home comments on the beauty and quality of the home and the neighborhood. The construction process was phenomenal; they never cut corners. We would be happy to live in a EGStoltzfus home at any point in our lives.
Easy to work with and responsive to cuatomwr
Please refer to my answers in question #8
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience and interaction with everyone associated with Warwick Crossing. Every individual that we spoke with/worked with was friendly and professional. We appreciated their professionalism and expertise.
The home we bought was a spec home, so not built specifically for us, but that hasn't affected their attentiveness. We had a few minor items we noted and they responded quickly and came to resolve. They respond as you bring things up which is great. Overall quality of build looks good I have had 3 previous homes built for me, 2 were with small custom builders and they compare favorably with them and they are better than the tract builder we worked with previously. I would have no reservations building another home (even though I hope not to have to build another home!) with them
The homes are great, and the staff were and are excellent to work with at every level. Very happy we chose EG Stoltzfus.
The quality of the drywall is too low. It is too delicate to handle. When I try to just move my hand across it, it causes scratches. It is a very delicate and cheap drywall.
4.75 stars. We are so happy with our house. It is beautiful! There have been minor imperfections, but EG customer service has been great about responding to these and sending someone out to take care of them. From the initial sales team, to the design studio, and to customer service everyone has been informative and helpful. We would certainly recommend EG to a friend, but would of course explain any of the small issues we ran into as well. Thanks EG Stoltzfus!
They delivered a beautiful and well-built home.
Very happy with the quality of work and they completed ahead of schedule!
EG was great to work with from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend them.
EGStoltzfus is a company with high level integrity. EGStoltzfus can be trusted to build a fine home.
The process was great and the experience was very enjoyable
Never fixed grate
The entire experience with EG Stoltzfus has been enjoyable. From the initial work with Stephanie and Katie at the design studio, they facilitated our design selection process assuring that we were happy with the various selections and offering alternatives when they thought there might be a better choice to be made. The home itself is well built and we were kept informed of the progress along the way. The use of the Superior Wall basement construction keeps the basement warmer than what we had experienced with the lower level of our previous split foyer home. The quality of the home and finishes is very good. There were minimal post settlement items identified that needed to be addressed and all of these were quickly resolved through EG Stoltzfus' service department. We would definitly recommend this builder to others.
This is the second EGS Home I've lived in. The last one was 30 years old.
EG Stoltfus’ team was professional, attentive and kind at all times. They answered all my questions and were helpful throughout the entire process.
The process was very transparent and easy, and all of the subcontractors/partners were excellent. From the cabinetry guys who fixed a broken cabinet to the settlement company and preferred mortgage lender, everyone we worked with was patient and kind in answering our questions and walking us through everything. Our house was completed within the timeframe and we were helped through every step of the process. We are very happy with our new home.
The quality and floor plan were very good.
The starting and building process went largely as planned, however the finishing work was largely underwhelming. The basement was left in a dust disaster. Window trim not finished, hood vent meets back splash was crooked, dry wall patches were not sanded before painting, painting ceiling was negrected in kitchen, kitchen light was installed at incorrect location, rail and banister were not sanded in many spots, baseboards were dented, bottom of doors throughout home were cut and not sanded or repainted, the list goes on and on
Short of some minor discrepancies, the home it self was very Satisfactory. The lawn done by Strathmeyer was very Unsatisfactory. I submitted, just recently, an Email listing the outstanding Issues with my property. I look forward to discussing them with your Representative in the near future.
We had so little water pressure at the walkthrough that water would not come out of the shower head. Got that increased to 30 psi, the bare minimum by code. I got my own plumber to come in and measure the psi from the township (60 psi) and had him put in a new valve to get us up to 55 psi. Also, the tile guy left a rag blocking the drain in the master bath shower. Had to get a plumber to come in and clear that out. These are all things that should have been caught by the builder, not by the buyer.
We would point out the positives of using this builder but would have to be honest regarding the problems we have experienced.
