The rep was very general in his explanation as to why a hole needed to be made in the wall. He said there was an â€œissueâ€ and it would cost $800. A service call to a competitor no whole in wall necessary - hair removed and a drain unclogged for a fraction of the price!!

How can I find a contractor to upgrade the attic space above my garage so that it can be used as storage space?

Dennis is correct, NARI is a great resource. Locate a contractor that has a good relationship with a structural engineer. Between the two, they should be able to come up with a good solution.
