Buffington does not follow their slogan "Details make the difference". For example, our ceiling fans were making a clicking noise, so we had them checked. Every fan was very loose, and each one had to be tightened. It was a miracle none of them came off the ceiling and landed on someone. We had multiple other items that weren't done correctly as well. For example, the doors weren't hung correctly. In fact, the back door would only stay closed by locking it and had a big gap. This was considered an emergency fix by the repairman since anyone could easily break in through that door. Another example is our oven was not screwed in and almost fell on my wife when the door was opened.
Overall, the beauty of the home, the materials used and the layout are absolutely beautiful with how the house turned out. However, I'd say the process of building and making sure the right selections are installed, was not the best process.
What is the work that was performed at my home? I’m not aware of a work performed here yesterday.
I like the house they built but I don't like how they manage the billing process with the buyer.
This has been the most humiliating experience I have ever had as a customer. Buffington professionals are rude, arrogant and do not hold themselves accountable - one blame the other (what is pretty unprofessional). There were several emails that were never replied to the point I gave up sending emails.
At closing, there were issues with the home that had to be addressed and two weeks later many of the issues are still there and need to be addressed.
They build a nice home but their customer service is HORRIBLE!
Andrew did an excellent job!
The overall appearance of the finished product is excellent!
I have bad experience with this builder, especially dealing with their warranty. They were reluctant to take care of warranty issues. Not recommended.
I am satisfied.
Beautiful homes, but warranty processes are lengthy & can stretch out for months. Our yard does not look like the other yards, even 1 year after moving in & opening multiple tickets with the warranty department regarding the grading of the yard & poor water drainage. Unfortunately, this is a reflection on Buffington Homes, and evidently there was a very long list of other warranty claims ahead of ours, delaying responses & action from the warranty department.
I am a first-time homebuyer and this has been the most miserable process I have gone through in my life.
It's a very good home.
They exceeded in quality.
It was under my budget, and the quality was good.
I'm most excited about the living area.
The quality of the build is excellent. However, their design appointments are not thorough. More explanation is needed. Finishing of our home is poor to average considering the cost.
We love the house, but felt Buffington was very rigid and impersonal throughout the building process. I also have a major complaint around the staining of my fence, more on that later.
Andrew and Julian were a great team and took care of everything we needed.
The quality of the materials in the home is not what I would expect when paying this much for a home. Additionally, customer service was terrible when I asked for something to be fixed with the warranty. I ended up doing it myself because customer service did not answer quickly or offer a remedy in over 4 months of communication.
This is after staying here for 1 year review. Buffington is good in some areas and bad in others. I am giving only 1 star due to the inability to fix an issue which is going on for a year now. Pros: - construction/material used for construction. - available floor plans. - selection of interior - any warranty issues of interior. Neutral: Time to complete a construction. Sale person will give one date, and construction progress slowly and hand over happens usually after 3 to 5 months from the agreed upon date. (unless it is 'ready-to-occupy' or 'in-progress' construction) Cons: they have to change the sub-contract for landscaping. I have been following up with multiple people - buffington warranty, HOA, 3rd party in itself - for almost a year now, without any resolution. Each one just say it is the other party who should be doing it. On top of it, I have to pay a huge amount as HOA fees for which I am getting 10% value of what I pay. Backyard is basically useless for me and my kids not able to go out and play.
When my drainage and grading concerns are addressed, I will leave a higher score. We really like the house itself. Follow up: I spent money fixing the drainage issues myself. I’ve never had to spend money to fix drainage issues on other homes I’ve bought, so I was disappointed to have to do that. When you send your team out to inspect issues, do they have the best interest of the client in mind? 24/48 hour water rule needs to be revoked as surface water should always run away from the home.
The buying and closing process was very easy. We enjoyed working with Kelley.
I've had multiple issues since closing on my home and the duration of time to correct my closing walk through requests still hasn't been completed in full. I've come upon multiple issues/mistakes in workmanship that is taking time to follow-up on as well.
I love the floor plan and layout of the house. The warranty process has been easy and responsive.
The neighborhood has an outstanding reputation and I loved the style and layout of the home.
I have bought a lot of homes including several new from builders. Love our Buffington home the most! Update 3/8/2019 Feeling the exact same as before. Beautiful, Quality built home.
The number of options available and at a reasonable cost was the most I had ever seen. The customization really allowed us to build our new home the way we wanted it.
The quality of this home is outstanding!
quality of workmanship, Andrew your job supervisor was great as was your sales person who was at all of the walk throughs
I can’t say enough about the staff at Buffington. Christopher “CT” Todd truly puts his heart and soul into every home. His attention to detail and professionalism are evident during the entire build process. I have been equally impressed with the level care long after we moved in. My family couldn’t be happier and can’t thank CT enough. They don’t look to build a neighborhood....... they strive to build a community.
I am most satisfied with the initial picking of designs and the selection of add ons. It's pretty streamline. Also the quality of the build has been good so far.
