Spanjer Homes

Established in 1978, Spanjer Homes is a small, family-owned company with a reputation for building distinctive, efficient and long-lasting homes throughout Northern Colorado. Spanjer’s company culture is rooted in a desire to enhance the community through fine construction, to build meaningful relationships with clients, partners and employees, and to seek out opportunities for continual enhancement.

Spanjer Homes’ work is characterized by an emphasis on value and thoughtful customization, alongside the company’s hallmarks: distinctive interior trim, furniture-quality woodwork, meticulous craftsmanship, and timeless design. Both the end result and the custom-built or build-to-suit process are made possible by the expertise and communication capabilities of the Spanjer Homes team, which is comprised of an in-house staff of seven and a network of trusted trade contractors.

Steve Spanjer, owner and president, has been instrumental in the Northern Colorado building community for nearly 40 years. As a student at UNC, Steve worked for a well-known Fort Collins builder, and upon graduation became a supervisor at a Longmont firm. In 1978 Steve founded Spanjer Homes, and has been building fine custom homes ever since.

Steve has earned many accolades for his dedication to excellence and ongoing improvement, including Custom Home Magazine’s Pacesetter Award, the Ideal Energy Home Builder Award, the BBB Torch Award for Business Ethics, and NoCo HBA’s Builder of the Year in 1992 and 2011. He has served on the NoCo HBA board since 1989, and is active in the National Association of Home Builders, having been named a Senior Life Director in 2013.
