Be more flexible on ordering the product to do the project right

All of the guys who helped us were do nice and very open to us having tons of questions. They answered everything and did such an amazing job at remodeling our tub and shower! We loved working with YHIC and their staff. They also answered all of our questions and concerns. They kept us updated the whole time and financing was available for my wife and I since we just got this house and are low on funds. We recommend them to anyone looking to update their bathroom. Our new shower and tub are beautiful, and we can't wait to use it! It actually makes our bathroom look gigantic and it is a single very small bathroom 1950s slab house. Thanks guys!!

Too expensive and taking the majority of the loan before any of the work was done.

This project was quite expensive for what was offered but the plan did fit our needs. The project slated to be a 2 day install turned into 4+ months trying to get the details correct. It was difficult to get help to start with since I could not find the right person to talk to. Once I did, then we had to wait on parts being manufactured. The part that was installed did not come with a manual and so several parts were improperly installed and a return visit had to be scheduled.

Quite expensive. I had some problems with getting work I paid for done. Overall, the finished job looks very good. But, I had to hire extra help to finish what the carpenter, Jake, did not do. He had a lot of excuses to not do what he was supposed to do per the contract. When I talked to the supervisor about it, he said he would have to charge me extra. I'm not paying extra for work I was told by salesman, and was in the contract, would be done.

The sub-contractor they use are unprofessional. Was on his phone while sawing into my window fame, didn't put Something on the cardbroad and it blew next doors yard, they need to use headphones when playing music because they had it so loud and sang at the top of his lungs, brag to each other and in front of another contractor doing work here on how much money they are making on this job. Which lead to the contractor quitting in the middle of a bathroom remodel. They clean up they mess in the house.

The sales person was awesome, love the warranty option, but after the measurements we had very little contact with anyone and there was some miscommunication about our order. Then when it came time for instalation there was a problem and it was very difficult to get ahold of anyone.

Salespeople were knowledgeable and thorough with their inspection and helped us choose the right option that fit our needs. Once the install was scheduled, it was quick and the work was done well. Our new windows look great and we're happy with the outcome.

Took a year to finish the job and screwed it up! The shower walls are not to be up to the ceiling. The floor pan feels soft. And screwed up the wall in the water closet.

The original shower pan did not fit due to the drain location. I accepted a different one they had on hand. They said they would install a small grab bar for working with them on the error. Still waiting on the grab bar….

They quality and service

2 hr install took multiple days, resulting in the need to use PTO. Window in bathroom has a lot of play side to side when sliding and the lip used to slide the window is bent. Drill holes were left exposed in both horizontal sliding windows.

All the people were very knowledgeable and helpful.

They were very adaptable to our road construction and worked well with our timing. The quality seems very good.

I am disappointed in the amount of time it took to complete the install of the bathroom downstairs. I had a hole in the basement floor for over a month. I think there should be more communication between contractor and customer.

Love the shower and no leaks which was my biggest concern.

Salesman will promise anything just to get you to sign. When they completed the job , they had removed the toilet that they broke. I had to buy a new one. The plummer. Decided that I didn't need to use the adjoining room so he put the water pipes out into the middle of the room. Even he had to vote back he made it clear that he was doing me a favor for doing it correctly. The shelves had water blocks on the edges so they constantly held water. It took 3 months to get it changed, looks like a quick fix. Why was this not figured out and done right to begin with. Tried talking to the owners but they were busy laughing there way to the bank

After saying it would only take 2 days a bathroom to finish we are on week 14 and neither bathroom is finished.

Good communication, fast efficient service

They were here on time, prompt, and did a great job. They didn't finish off the siding on the exterior from where they removed a window and replaced it with a smaller one. There is a large space that is not covered by siding. I am currently having that done by another contractor.

Your Home Improvement - Rapid City needs to follow up on the installation locally.

I am not likely to recommend Your Home Improvement to a friend because I was misled.

No messes to clean up, process was fast easy and time was underpromised and certainly over delivered!

My shower stall was extremely old and needed an update; this installation was more than an update; it was an enlightment and makes me happy everytime I walk by the bathroom! It has updated a very old house.

From consultation to final product we were impressed! The demolition & install was done quickly & on schedule with very little disruption in our home.

First window was cracked upon installation. 2nd window was missing cover for handle, bar is bent so when closing window it grabs the foam around window. 3rd window when open the plastic piece holding bar in place pops out. Handle also comes right off.

Everyone did a fantastic job! From Tim giving all the job details to the guys that did the install and plumbing everything was great!

They are borderline criminals, and they disrespect your time and lie about where their people are if they don't show up when they said they would. I wouldn't put anyone through what we went through with them.

First, you can not make it right. I had many contacts with several people during this ordeal and no one made any attempt to provide the type of service any customer deserves. Rest assured I will give an honest and accurate evaluation of my experience at any opportunity.
My installer showed up prepared as scheduled and completed the demo. He then found the shower pan was the wrong size even though it had been measured by the sales rep and the project manager. Of course, I told the installer I did no want to proceed with the wrong size pan. He left and told me the project manger would be in contact with me. I heard from no one the rest of the day. The next day morning I called the sales rep (it was the only phone number I could find). He told me the project manager was in the same building and one of them would get back to me by the end of this day. No one had called by close to the end of the day so I called and left a message with the sales rep. I called again the next morning. The sales rep never did provide the courtesy of a return call. Later that day, I finally heard from the project manger. He said he had been out of town on a project (not what the sales rep said) but had requested the replacement shower pan. He said they would get it as soon as possible.
So, the error with the shower was identified on April 8. The error was caused by YHIC personnel. Good customer service would demand priority resolution of issue. So far, there is a sales rep and/or project manager who hasn’t the basic courtesy to return a phone call.
The project manager said the replacement pan was ordered on April 9. Next were a series of status emails expressing apologies for the delay and promising expeditious processing. For example, one said the replacement pan would shipped April 18. That’s 8 days from ordering to shipping! That’s not any kind of expedited processing. Then there’s an email that said shipping would take 5-10 business days. Again, that sounds like regular processing. Remember, this is caused by YHIC personnel making a simple measuring error. I don’t when the shower pan got to Rapid City. But in the first two weeks, there were only two slots available to install my shower. One, I wasn’t available and the second was scheduled but pulled by YHIC so the installer. Again, no sense of priority.
Seems to YHIC has no concern for customer service. In one of phone calls,I asked to speak to a manager and I was told I could not. Enough said!

It has been 10 months since I started this project and it still isn’t finished

I flew back to South Dakota for the installation to find out the shower base measurements were incorrect for the drainage. So I did not want to fly from AZ to SD again for the installation. The installers had to remove the towel rack and did not reinstall the rack after completion. In addition, I never did receive a document with the breakdown of the type and options with the cost breakdown.

The time Drew took to talk to us about the whole process. Having it done a month ahead of schedule. The wonderful job that Nick did in tearing the old shower out and replacing the new one in. Kept things pretty well clean

They put our windows in and did not do them right. We have no idea when they're going to come back and fix them. They will come back, I guess.

Easy to work with and educated us on the products. Need to improve communication with sub contractors.
