Overall camp went well however my son came home stating that a lot of the children were cussing and the staff was doing nothing about it.

South sound YMCA camp and ycare are so helpful. I appreciate them.

Reasonable price, good interactive activities for kids, the councilors are very good with communication.

The staff training is wonderful!

I feel like the staff doesn’t take kids needs into consideration. My child had adhd and it’s hard for him to process things occasionally. Staff doesn’t really work with him and they fight with him causing him to get worked up and sent home. I think more training on working with kids with adhd add and any other hyperactive “disorder” to better help these kids in their care.

It's expensive, but necessary so you pay what you have too. Also I wasn't super impressed with a response I received about a registration mix up.

Everyone was so nice and caring. The kids had so much fun and came home telling me about all the fun activities they got to do! Definitely an amazing organization! 10/10

It felt like there were less activities planned during the spring break camp compared to other camps the y puts on

We liked that they had a variety of projects, an all groups recess, spending time with friends and siblings from different grades and schools, friendly staff, and overall it was very fun!

My son was almost sent home for saying and drawing something "inappropriate." I really think that's something the staff should be able to deal with rather than just calling a parent to pick the child up. We rely on the staff to take care of these things so that our work lives do not have to suffer. Also, my 11-year-old son was very "bored". It would be nice if there were more of a variety of activities the older kids could do.

It is really more about the age level of participants, my daughter is 11 and there were not enough children in her age group. So parts were disappointing for her as it was not geared to her age level. For the future I recommend to set up a variety of craft projects that are geared towards separate age categories.

all was great, just bummed Friday was canceled - though I understand. I also didn't see clearly that I could sign my child up for 2 weeks when I signed him up for the first session. I realize these are unrelated to the camp itself, which was great thanks

Not a good experience

My son is nervous around new people but once he's settled he has fun. The staff did a great job making sure he was at ease, and let him settle in on his terms. He came home everyday in great spirits telling me all about his day. I am so happy with our experience, I will seek out the Y with other camp needs for sure again!

Greeting parents at drop off- many staff at Garfield winter camp did not greet or check in when dropping my child off. Even just a simple Hi and introduction is helpful, and makes a parent feel like the staff is aware their child is there and will care for them and keep the child safe.

My daughter had a great time and lived seeing her friends while we had to work. The always seems to be activities taking place any time we came or went.

Disappointed in every aspect. Sleeps grabbed and then kicked my child out and she had a disability

The craft activities.

My daughter loved the activities and friends she got to see at day camp. She looked forward to it as an extension of after-school care which she also loves attending. It’s really helpful for her that there are different areas available - she can decide if she’s feeling more like reading for a while or making crafts, or if she has a lot of energy there is a game/physical activity to do. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

My child loves the activities, chance to see friends, and camp counselors. The hours of operation are great for working families. We will continue to attend!

My daughter never feels challenged w Y camps. She loves doing art projects but the ones offered at Y camps are, as she puts it, for kindergartners. She is overall bored w the program. On the positive side I always find staff to be kind and attentive, so I feel she is going to a safe place, and I’d rather have my daughter interacting w peers than be fighting over too much time w video games.

Child was harassed and picked on by other children and nothing was done. Staff was dismissive of issue and blew it off, pulled child out after second day.

The hours of operation are great. The kids enjoy the activities that are held and the staff have been nice. The only recommendation we have is to hold a winter camp at Meadows elementary. Horizons isn’t exactly close to where we live.

They did not accommodate my child, and they were extremely racist to my child and the length amount of time that they are, we’re supposed to get used to the camp
