Friendly staff, clean exercise areas and changing rooms. Great facility.
The instructor is very patient and attentive!
friendly
We love the y everyone is friendly and supportive.
Welcoming & cean
class size small
I really Love all the classes offered at the Y. I am unhappy with the locker room. It's impossible to change without getting your clothes wet. I had talked with the front desk once, suggesting fans to dry the floors.
I like the friendly atmosphere. All staff & volunteers are professional & courteous.
I have been a member for over 20 years. I am happy to join a gym that is not just a gym, but a community resource that shares my values. The people at the Y are a cross section of the community...young, old, from all different cultures, and pursuing their goals means they are having a positive ripple effect on the community at large via greater well-being. I love that. In fact, I started working at the Y in 2005 when I read a newsletter that was so moving I asked to speak to the director, and she offered me a job! This was totally unexpected and not my intent at all, but I ended up working for the Y for 17 years (in Greater Seattle). So I honestly can't imagine joining any other fitness organization.
I would like more evening class options and more classes such as pilates, barre, kickboxing.
The staff are friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable around all the other members; i.e., it doesn’t feel like a beauty contest or competitive in any way. AND, the facility is new, clean, and nicely maintained.
The pool/pool area are too cold
Not enough handicap parking
I love the classes and sense of belonging
I would rate the Y higher if you were able to offer a reduced monthly fee by entering into an agreement with United Health Care ( my insurance company)to pick up part or all of membership fee.
Free to Seniors with plenty of activities for seniors.
I never feel judged. All the employees are very friendly. The facility is always very clean.
Very nice facility.
Very friendly and family oriented
I've had a great experience, staff is phenomenal, and I have already recommended it to others!
Friendly staff
Teacher is great. My son has fun. Love they do both pokemon battles and work in physical activities!
The jujitsu program is amazing! These kids are challenged, coached, and encouraged. the respect and self discipline taught is exactly what they need. They are teaching trust the power of their bodies and how to work together.
Staff is friendly and welcoming!
There are classes for various levels of fitness
The floor of the men's locker room is dirty
Would love to learn new thing not thw same thing every month, would like more options on weeknight rather then weekends.
Just a bit chaotic and unorganized
great facility, instructors and service
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The facility is spotless, reasonably cool and comfortable. Managers are open to members ideas and thoughts about minimizing bottlenecks with equipment use. Equipment is maintained well, with insight realtime help for minor issues. Most members seem to enjoy their time at the facility.
One improvement would be to have a stronger internet signal to reach podcasts or news broadcasts on my devices. It is pretty weak, and signal is often lost
The facility is very well managed. The employees are friendly and helpful, the facility is always clean and has top notch equipment. It offers so much for the cost of the membership.
I have recommended the Y to friends and family.
The staff are all super friendly and encouraging, I applaud them for hanging tough as my 7mo learns not to scream the whole time that I am not in the room.
the y is a very open and friendly place to all people; just wish you had more parking at the Shelton location have had to go home no parking.
I really enjoy the advanced Tai Chi class. CHeryl is a wonderful instructor & I enjoy all the members of this class. I look forward to seeing everyone & participating twice a week. I leave feeling healthy & happy.
Affordable, very clean, variety of classes, friendly staff and good instructors.
I am a charter member of the Shelton YMCA. I have watched this facility become a loved and integral part of our growing community. The leadership appears to have a commitment to a continuous improvement program and adds new classes often. The grounds works are amazing, I love the new forested trails.
The staff always makes you feel welcome, and the gym is inviting and clean.
Boomers for Bone Density workout classes are super beneficial. Instructors are a genuine delight with excellent people skils.
The caretakers are excellent with my kids, my kids look forward to going while I attend the Y.
Friendly and personable
I like the modern equipment. The great pool and awesome basketball courts.
The director listened to my complaint about the lifeguard not enforcing no wrestling and horseplay in the swimming pool. Thanks for making those members behave in the swimming pool.
This Y has the right stuff & a Great staff.
Overall floor space in the gym is tight in the offseason. When those garage doors are open it's great!
It is a very safe place to go and they have a variety of choices for your workout.
In fact, I have already recommended you to a friend, and my husband is aware of the YMCA but is unlikely to use it. I’m sure it was a financial decision, but I really wish that Shelton YMCA had an actual indoor pool that felt like an indoor pool and it was not square but had lap swimming. It can be really cold. Going from the women’s bathroom to the pool and back after one has had a shower. It would be nice if there was the option to at least have a hot tub or sauna afterwards to help warm up. I’m not sure where that could go but both in the Aberdeen YMCA are well used. That is the reason I did not give you a 10 out of 10.
I signed up for the membership. Had to wait a week for them to give me the introduction on the facility. The day of the appointment you guys called and canceled, I asked twice for another appointment. And it's been only 8 months and still don't have it. I even emailed the manager directly. No response.
Great staff, wonderful classes
There were no instructions to help my child swim. It was very hands off. Might be better for older children and should be divided by age to better assist beginners.
The facility is beautiful! The balance class offered by Cheryl Weeks (?) is fantastic.
