The front staff is extremely kind and helpful, the facilities clean and the classes are wonderful
I'd probably recommend the Briggs location because it's more spacious
I wish the massage chairs could be used more than 10min. By the time you adjust your settings it's almost over. When nobody is waiting for a chair it would be nice to have 10 more minutes.
The instructors (especially Beth Daniel) are great and instill a sense of camaraderie among students.
I usually encourage seniors to check out the 2 local Ys.
Staff were very friendly. The place is well
organized and easy to figure out. I came
for the dry sauna in the women’s dressing room. It was wonderful. I will be back.
The staff are all friendly, helpful people. Good hires all around!
Excellent classes and facilities. Massage chair essential part of exercise. Staff friendly and helpful—they are authentic
The parking is abominable. Otherwise the y gets a 10.
The sauna in the men’s room inconsistently works.
Beth is a great instructor
The men's sauna is often very gross after men sweat there and leave puddles. I'd like to see more education/signage encouraging men to clean up after themselves.
Also, the new layout near the garage door means that there's very little space to stretch downstairs, which I don't like. I understand that rooms are available upstairs for stretching, but they're colder, isolated, and not always available. I'd like to see more dedicated stretching space so I don't feel like I'm laying down in the middle of the room to stretch after my workout.
Parking is such an issue. What are you proactively doing to remedy this situation? Talking to neighbors to use 4 spaces ? There are a number of neighbors that could make this doable—ensuring an additional 12 spots. Also, don’t let people who are only showering use the lot—they should pay for on street parking. Our dues should include parking and if a non dues paying person uses the showers, the least they could do is pay 75 cents to park, keeping the lot free for members.
Convenient, quiet, clean, friendly staff, just wish there were a few additionalpieces of equipment and a little more space for stretching
I would really like a Mixxedfit class at Plum Street, or Zumba with Morgan. That would bring me and several friends to the ymca much more often
I liked everything about my experience, from the darling welcoming of the friendly people at the front desk to the excellent instruction by Beth, to her playlist, to the friendliness of the other participants….I’ve never enjoyed a second of organized exercise before. Thank you so much!
Friendly people and good environment.
I like the warm friendly staff. L’ance Regnum-Rouge gave me the best overview and helped me with all of my questions about strength building. Very courteous, kind and knowledgeable.
Parking is a problem
Affordability, good service, variety of options for classes.
Good value for the cost (even though my costs are pd. by insurance). Good equipment, in good shape -- all except for the resolution on tv's on treadmill & Stat. bikes. Facilities are in good repair & are clean. Broken equipment is repaired in efficient manner.
Wish it was open just a little bit later on week days
There's a sense of community but no one cares what you are doing or how you look. The place is kept clean and organized.
There is a lot of competition for the machines downstairs (for example the lat pulldown machine is always busy-- we need more than one) while meanwhile, most of the ellipticals upstairs remain unused. We also need more than two stair steppers-- one is almost always broken, and there is stiff competition for them. The way space and resources are allocated doesn't seem to match actual needs and popularity of various equipment. The floors are never clean. For the multipurpose rooms, it's important that the floors be cleaned regularly because people are lying down in there doing various exercises for classes-- it's unpleasant to find big chunks of mud and hair all over the floor the minute you sit on your mat.
Friendly staff. Love the sauna!
