Team was great from start to finish

We have done multiple projects with Kathleen Donohue from the Neil Kelly - Bend office. She is an outstanding partner in designing and managing our projects. We appreciate her attention to detail, her frank opinions, her attention to budget, and her willingness to give extra effort. We have also worked with three other designers/project managers from the Neil Kelly-Portland office. Our experience with Kathleen is the best of all four people we have worked with and far exceeds the experience with two of the Portland based designers.

Having our entire house re-piped was daunting. The Neil Kelly team we worked with did everything possible to make the process predictable and manageable. They were proactive about communicating with everyone -- us and the contractors -- and did a great job of managing our expectations. Everyone we interacted with was kind and considerate, and the project was completed without a hitch -- which seems like a low-key miracle. Every part of the process seemed like it was designed to minimize our stress, and it did!

All of the contractors were very polite and professional. They were able to handle a broad range of projects, from replacing a leaky window to installing a bathroom exhaust fan. And the quality of the work was excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the entire project.

I am still waiting for the closing meeting. I understood that it was supposed to take place within a few weeks of the installation, and it has been several months and has still not been scheduled. The communication has been poor since the install. I understand there have been layoffs and I am concerned that has affected customer service.

Generally, the company has integrity and employs excellent people for installations. However, their level of workmanship is subpar. I would recommend the company, but with the caveat that their work needs to be monitored closely.

We have always had excellent outcomes working with Neil Kelly -- starting over 20 years ago in Portland and continuing here in Bend.

Efficient and do what they say. Designer was brilliant in softly pushing us toward good designs without being overly directive. Project manager was always available and resolved any issues quickly and professionally. He loved our dog.

All work was completed as agreed, and the company made sure everything was done right. My project manager, designer, and their assistants were easy to work with, and responded to any of my concerns. The sub-contractors, except for one, were great. The team of Brian, Karen, Steph, and Carolyn were a pleasure to work with. Chris was great as well.

They are very skillful, trustworthy and reliable.

We could leave all the management of the project parts to them and still make decisions that were important to us. They handled all the subcontracting.

It would depend on what a friend is wanting. Neil Kelly is more expensive, but if design and workmanship is of prime importance, we would recommend Neil Kelly. If a friend were needing a comprehensive project, we would recommend looking at Neil Kelly.

Neil Kelly manages the entire project; everything is clearly laid out and the project manager keeps you updated on what's happening. All done with professionalism,courtesy, and friendliness.

We have done several projects with Neil Kelly, from major remodels (kitchen, master bedroom) to this one (overdue maintenance) and we feel we get excellent results at a fair price. They also stand behind their work if issues surface after the project is complete. What more could one ask for?

Neil Kelly took on the complicated and difficult project of foundation work and seismic upgrades for our 1908 bungalow. I especially want to shout out Wes, whose weekly status emails kept our progress and next steps always clear, and carpenters Elvo and Rodney, who were a pleasure to work with and who went above and beyond when the difficult work went on into the rainy and holiday season. Such major work on an old house came with many challenges, but with Neil Kelly I was always confident we would reach a successful conclusion. Thanks!

I had an exeptionally positive experience with Neil Kelly--I would absolutely recommend NK to anyone in the Portland area who is looking for a contractor. Cal and Christian were amazing--from the beginning until the end. They gave great advice, were always conscious of my budget, and were truly EXCELLENT communicators. I always had a lot of questions, and they always got back to me very quickly and patiently answered all of my questions. I truly appreciated how responsive they were. They both went above and beyond at all times--in addition to being so good at what they do and very knowledgable, they're both kind, decent people. It was a joy to work with them. At this point, I wouldn't trust anyone other than Cal and Christian with my home renovations!

We've hired Neil Kelly a couple times, once for an energy home audit and work resulting from that audit and more recently to replace our kitchen hood. They are always professional, on time and care about the quality of their work no matter how big or small the job. Their handyman services are competively priced but are superior to the competition on quality, customer satisfaction, clean-up, and communication.

I know we paid more with Neil Kelly, but every team member delivered an exceptional level of service that made that premium worth it. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism; they intercepted any potential hassles or concerns. We requested a challenging timeline and they delivered great quality within that restrictive schedule.

Job was handled professional from my initial contact requesting a scope and estimate to project completion. I also like the five-year construction and workmanship warranty.

Neil Kelly was able to deliver high quality timely work on my small concrete and window repair project via their handyman service. It is not the least expensive solution; their quality made it a worthwhile value for me. I would absolutely recommend Neil Kelly for homeowners in a similar situation.

Way, way over priced for the expected professional carpenters. Left a big gap that was very obvious. Kept saying they will come to correct the glaring hole and then kept postponing the date. A real disappointment. And I repeat- way over priced for the labor.
