I would recommend to friends because its comfortable here and everyone including the staff is very nice and friendly
Clean facility, friendly, helpful staff
Classes are excellent with plenty of different times. People are friendly too.
I have been training with Kristhel Lopez for 2.5 years. I love her!!! She comes to each session prepared and does research to find exercises that meet my needs.
Whenever you go there, it is a positive experience. The facility is well kept and very large, the staff is always helpful and friendly, it is busy most of the time, which is a good sign in my book.
Coach was encouraging and really encouraged the kids:)
The Y is not just a gym. It’s a social gathering place for the community. It brings together people of all ages and walks of life.
I love the friendly "Good morning" by staff member(s) as I enter the facility. It is welcoming and inviting.
Handicap parking is sometimes non-existant depending on the time of day.
Nice facility, great machines staff seems nice.
Really enjoyed this program. Coach Paul Rader was so good with my 3yo. That coach really made this program worth it and I would look into more sports where he is the coach.
Most of the trainers are very friendly.
My one complaint right now would be the lack of the
My wife and I truly enjoy the diverse opportunities available. The clients and staff are very courteous. I would recommend the Y to anyone.
It's like the family I choose ❤️
I would be great to have bootcamp type classes later in the day at the 6-7:30pm time period. And longer spinning classes would great also!
It's s nice place close to home enjoy good health
People are friendly, the environment is bright and clean, and there are a variety of classes appropriate for every fitness level. The equipment in the gym is state of the art and very user friendly.
Instructor for water exercise class was a half hour late. Other people in the class said she always is late because of teaching another class prior to the 10:30 water exercise class. Hopefully this is only a temporary thing because the water exercise class is my reason for belonging to the Y😉
The Suncoast Y is the nicest, cleanest, has more classes and even has an EGym! All of the instructors that I have attended their classes know my name and are very friendly. I could not be happier! When I was looking for yoga classes, I saw that the Y offers them, but I didn’t join right away because the ones in NYC are disgustingly and dirty.
Before joining I was very depressed because I had just moved and I was devastated because my wonderful cat died 3 days before moving, but little by little I started feeling better as i continued with yoga. I recently also started Zumba and the EGym
Several of us have asked many times for more subs when your wonderful Zumba instructors have health issues and can't find a sub. Your Zumba classes are some of the most popular and best attended classes. The gentleman who is in charge of Zumba told me your main focus is Les Mills. He is not very receptive when we go to him and ask for more classes and instructors.
Registration for the class was very easy. I attended two classes today. Training rooms, gym and restrooms were clean. Facility is orderly and managed very well.
I think it’s a bit pricy for what I use it for. I’m looking for a cheaper options. I have my own pool so I never have and never will use the pool. Because of my work schedule I’m very limited in the classes I can attend most of the classes I like are in the morning when I’m at work. The wellness center is good but I don’t know how to use a lot of that equipment and the trainers overseeing that room are not usually welcoming to questions, it feels like you’re nothing them, one of them even told a friend of mine to “ just figure it out”. Most of them just sit at the desk or walk around with the attitude of being above you which is crazy cause it’s a gym, where people go to better themselves physically and mentally. It’s very close to my house so I wish it was better. Thanks for asking lol
The YMCA of Hernando is the best!Everyone is super friendly and helpful!I take the water aerobics several times a week and multiple classes a day.You couldn’t ask for better.
Swim instructor wasn’t very focused. Spent more time talking to the other instructor than dealing with the kids.
The place is has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Customer service is premises is clean and well maintained.
Schedule needs to be more accurate when it comes to the Body Pump classes. Sometimes they do Pump Heavy and it should be reflected on the schedule. Also would be helpful if the weight of the weighted bars were posted on the wall. Too hard for senior eyes to see the weight on the bar itself. Need to add more color on the walls. The place looks so sterile.
I enrolled my daughter
I love my YMCA and especially love the E-GYM! I only wish it was less expensive and that I could bring a guest, maybe once a month, for free. Then others could go with me once in a while, to try out the YMCA.
There is almost every type of activity or sport for every age group and capacity
I tell all my friends how much I enjoy going to the Y and always suggest they should join as well.
the parking is horrid, especially for handicapped with wheelchairs or walkers, no one is enforcing one major rule, phone conversations while on equipment these are not business calls but personal. Where did the Bible verse quote go?
People are open & friendly.
Getting pretty populated and lost part of its closeness. Becoming a "number" not a "member" so much. That occurs with growth too sad yet true.
Later hours, a lot of the gyms around have 24hours . We close so early on the weekends its frustrating.
The staff know us now when we get there, the lifeguards too. It's a family environment and we've made connections with other families we see there
Parking is hard to find and it’s hard to use the equipment because it’s crowded.
The Y offers different activities and exercise programs for the various groups of participants who attend.
Too busy for the amount of equipment in fitness room
Have more handicap parking?
Great, clean place to work out with very friendly staff
Stop maintenance workers from coming into classes before they are over! It is intrusive and dangerous! We had a guy come into our class and try to set up a ladder! Other guy comes in and starts throwing tables around before we even have a chance to put our equipment away!
The Y recognized a growing trend in playing a table game (mah jongg) and addressed it with a weekly session.
I absolutely love the YMCA pool. I’ve lost weight, got stronger to get out of a wheelchair and I’ve made wonderful friends. I do wish the water was a bit warmer for my severe neuropathy but our Y seems more interested in the healthy swimmers than the ones with arthritis, neuropathy and fibromyalgia and a few dealing with cancer. There’s one friend who’s only form of exercise is walking in the pool she is fighting cancer and if the water is too cold she cannot exercise. There’s proven research that recommends at least 86-87 degrees but they choose to ignore that. I have to wear heavy wetsuit pants to use the pool now. Before our current leadership in the building and pool , the water was a constant 86-87. Now, apparently they say it’s impossible. No one has ever had a heat stroke at our pool, according to our lifeguards yet our administrators try to say this happens. Other than that I love the lifeguards who are extremely kind to me and my disabled, adult son. The women who greet us at the door are wonderful too. I dont use the gym as it’s far too difficult for me. The pool is my gym. Please help us with this concern. I beg of you
I made some friends there. I have enjoyed playing chair volleyball, taking Stability and Senior Circuit classes, and playing cards. I also appreciate that swimming lessons are offered, although I haven't done that yet. Staff have been very kind and helpful. Using the gym equipment was the first activity I did there, and it's terrific that it's been updated.
I have been a member of the Y for many years and would highly recommend it to anyone. Especially senior citizens
Ymca management is always truthful about how water classes will be or about getting a replacement for a known absence instructor. This then leaves 22 people in the water ready for class with no instructor or a water class..
Since the renovation, it's very professional.
Staff is friendly and professional. The building and grounds are clean.
I would just like the pool water to be a few degrees warmer. I use the pool for health benefits and when it is cooler it isn't as enjoyable or offer the needed relief I need.
Friendliness of staff and up-to-date equipment and an energetic atmosphere throughout the building.
