Since our founding in Clearwater, the YMCA of the Suncoast has grown from its first facility in 1965 to its newest in Citrus County in May 2016. At the time it opened, the Clearwater YMCA was one of the largest YMCAs in the country. In more than 60 years, our footprint has not just grown, but flourished and made an impact on the communities we serve, especially in youth development. In the ‘80s, we introduced before- and after-school child care to our service areas. Today, we guide more than 60 school-age programs in your elementary and middle schools. Hide

Amy, at the front desk, is very knowledgeable. Brynna, (admin.), listens well & works toward solutions.

Sometimes it is so crowded you have to wait for machines. There are only 2 seated elliptical machines and 2 stepper machines. That seems to be the most used by the seniors. It’s hard to get to use them. Not sure why there are so many standing elliptical machines and not enough seated ones.

It’s way too crowded. There were no bikes, no treadmills available when I came. The EGYM was so busy that as soon as you sat down you had to start because people were standing behind you. Found it stressful

The Y has made tremendous upgrades in its physical facilities over the past two years. It has one of the nicest locker rooms that I have seen anywhere. I use the E-GYM when I am home in NY and was very pleased to see it introduced here. The staff is always helpful.

It is overpriced for those just working out, not utilizing classes, the pool or other amenities. Great if you’re getting more out of it.
