Lots of activities
I have nothing to criticize except signing up for the pump class in the winter is a pain (snowbirds).
I would think like the basic tending of the large bathroom could use a lot more attention. Often there is either no soap-no toilet paper, broken toilets, very wet and slippery floors, moldy shower tiles, very low flow water from some of the shower heads. The portable bathroom used during the construction was tended to much better all the time. To me that is nuts. I also take pilates and the air is broken in the room for weeks and now we hear months. There should be a move to the large gym for all these classes for the health of the members. That room is too hot all the time!!!! Why do you still use it????
I love the Y! Everyone is so kind and helpful. And the kid zone has been a life saver for me! My toddler loves it there!
Works if he possible to change the kid zone hours to accommodate the class schedule? I attend several 8:30 AM classes and it’s been really difficult with the kids zone. Also opening at 8:30 AM. I frequently miss the warm-up for the 830 classes because the kids zone isn’t open.
Great classes..but the rooms cannot accommodate all members. It intimidating to New members to try and squeeze in and find a spot.. we need another classroom. Or rearrange what is available. Not sure what more people the winter will bring
The PowerZone program at the YMCA has been an absolute game-changer! It played a huge role in helping me hit my weight loss goals and stay consistent with my routine. On top of the great program, the front desk team is always welcoming and attentive every time I walk through the door. The facilities are consistently clean, and the gym is fully stocked with fantastic equipment. I couldn't ask for a better environment to reach my fitness goals!
Great classes -Michelle, Wilda, Sheila, Tammy
I love all the choices of classes that are available. There’s something for everyone.
I do wish something could be done about the over crowded classes. I know another Y that adds another class on Mondays when the seasonal people come back to Florida. However, I believe we need it at this Y and it should be year round. Or you may have to start limiting the amount of people per class.
Lots of natural light at entrance. Clean and spacious exercise rooms. Great variety of classes.
Our building has had a huge expansion. While this is wonderful, there are now only 4 floor fans for the whole place. In the group X room there simply aren’t enough fans for an August in Florida. I don’t understand why fans cannot be bought for the spin room and the multipurpose room.
Overall, so grateful for the Y and our membership. The only things I could suggest improving are: 1) the hours of the family pool are a bit limited for younger children not yet in school. 2) yoga instruction could level up.
Clean, friendly, great instructors.
Good instructors, friendly people
Great classes new equipment friendly staff
I have recommended it to everyone I know.
Bring age groups together and have listening sessions to brainstorm approaches to help individuals thrive when they are alone and are not sure what would fit their needs. Or, offer ways for individuals to sit down with staff to explore personalized options.
The facility is very clean and the staff is incredible!
Nice facility & variety of classes. However, veterans should get a discount.
Gym is very clean and machines are always available.
We did 2 different YMCA camps. GPH Y and Camp Typhoon. She enjoyed both of these.
They are helpful. The insturctors are good & answer any questions I have.
Wide range of activities. Great group classes especially the Silver Sneakers classes.
Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. My granddaughter had a great time. She especially liked the gym and swimming.
If I’m not sure how to use any piece of equipment the staff is always helpful
1) I think you should clearly state on the calendar of exercise classes which ones are in heated rooms as opposed to air-conditioned rooms so that people do not go to a room with their mat and get disappointed by the temperature.
2) I'm wondering how your clients can be informed in advance when a class is canceled?
The woman who helped
Me was wonderful. Checked to see if I had Solver Sneakets & made me feel very welcome to be back after a few months’ ‘medical leave.’
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming!
Great classes, beautiful pool, great gym!
Facility is clean and equipment is up to date. Missing a place to run/walk especially in bad weather
The facility is top notch! The exercise equipment is high quality and well maintained. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a wide array of class offerings at all levels and ages. I can't say enough about my local YMCA!
The facility is clean. The staff is friendly.
Everyone is friendly, from the clients to the volunteers to the employees. They're all so helpful, kind, and caring. The instructors care about each person in their class.
Very friendly atmosphere
I am only 2 weeks in as a member, but so far, I am liking the facility
Friendly staff. Cardio & weight room.
I go to the Y frequently. When I'm in the Wellness Center the audiofetch does not always work and is glitchy. Sometimes there are only 2 channels instead of 6. Sometimes it just doesn't work. In addition, the tvs by the treadmills are not always on the cablebox, they are streaming. Based in conversations, this seems to be a consistent training issue or there was a storm and they do not know how to rest the device. This has been an ongoing issue and management doesn't seem to care to fix it.
We like the fact that we can also use the Trinity facility. Depending on what we have going on, we will either go to Palm Harbor or Trinity and traffic depending on time of day will factor into that. We enjoy the staff at both facilities. We enjoy the facilities as well. We do like the E gym at Trinity as it gives a complete workout in a short time even if not for the diehards!
It has a good selection of classes. I really enjoy the stretching class and only wish it was 3 times a week but the current 2 are great. The instructor is fabulous understanding and well balanced seems to know and care about what she is doing which is not always the case especially with older people.
She is very patient and personable!
I am very happy that the Y has added more yoga classes. I hope to establish a fitness routine by attending two or three classes per week. The late morning or mid-day slots are best for me. Wilda is my favorite instructor. Some yoga classes are extremely crowded to the point that it can interfere with freedom of movement in doing the poses. Overall the YMCA is a good value.
Patrick had a very nice experience with Eileen, although he has not learn to swim yet, Eileen was able to instill confidence and teach him great survival skills.
The lack of communication around a child ringing a
The camp leader sends a ridiculous number of emails, often repeating the same things. I assume, like me, much of the audience consists of people who work all day, 5 days a week. I don't have time to read all that. I can't even tell what changes when I get multiple "week whatever' emails.
One of their main activities is swimming. Half of the pool has some sizable slides that many of the kids would probably like to slide down. Well, if your child doesn't swim well enough, they have to be on what my 6 year old describes as a "kid section" while the other part of the class get to use the slide, right in front of them. That's a nice format. Then, she gets to test every week to see if she qualifies for the slides. If not, bummer - no slide. Maybe this was documented somewhere and I missed it. My kid goes to the Y at other schools. We had no idea this was a thing here when we signed up.
Two weeks in, she switched class. She said it's because she was older. She didn't have a birthday. She was just, I guess, 3 days older. So, forget the friends she made. Now she starts over. For some kids it's hard to make friends. This isn't a good way to help them be comfortable with a new place.
They ask for sunscreen but won't help apply it. She can't do it herself? Too bad. And, RIP back and shoulder skin.
They get Jeremiah's icy ever week and she rarely gets the flavor she asked for. We pay $5/week for that.
Listen, the place is fine. She comes home relatively happy though often times says she doesn't like it but can't really say why. She does have friends and seems to have a decent time. Would I recommend the place? Maybe with a disclaimer about what I've stated above. I will say we really like Miss Kiki. She's awesome and a pleasure to talk to in the morning.
Great staff and volunteers Always make you feel welcomed. Always clean and well organized. Great schedule.
The facility and staff are wonderful
I have recommended it to friends and I like it well enough that I have joined the Y in VA as well.
Great instructors, especially the one who lead body pump 7/1/26 !
I was very hesitant to go the YMCA in Palm Harbor 2 weeks ago. I am sure glad I did! From the first day I have felt like I belong there. The staff is so laid back, friendly and welcoming. It has been five years since I’ve really gone out and done anything so this was a big step. I know I have somewhere to go and start moving again. I am starting with the silver sneakers classes and some of the weight machines and it feels so good. Why because the atmosphere and people there are awesome.
Water Aerobics instructor are amazing
Friendly atmosphere
