After devastating winds and weeks following of rain, the flashing on an old roof of the home I bought 9 years ago had torn off, water had entered, and all the tiles in my back entryway porch had fallen from the ceiling straight to the floor; awesome. Having never before filed an insurance claim, my insurance carrier assured me they had a great company to provide service and would send someone out to inspect, and soon after Ed Carey from F.Lax Construction showed up to take a look at what had happened. He listened to my wobbly-voiced worry and assured me this was no big issue, and that for water mitigation purposes, his team could easily knock this out. With the Insurance Carrier agreeing to everything from inspection, Ed brought out Trevor and Vinnie and got to work on water mitigation and mold treatment (because of course there was mold, right?). Every day they worked, Trevor made sure to communicate exactly what they were doing and when they were leaving and when they would arrive the next day. They were consummate professionals, kind, and treated my issue as if it had happened to one of their own homes. When it came to putting paper on the roof before reconstruction could occur, there was an issue with their Roofing Team being able to reach my project but, after having already left for the day, Trevor and Vinnie returned and put up protective measures to keep the space from becoming wet again as it was scheduled to rain. After mitigation was complete and we'd said our goodbyes and I gave my thanks to both Vinnie and Trevor, my Insurance Adjustor called and let me know that they would be sending me options for contractors for the rebuild of the space and I told him to just send F.Lax back out, upon telling me that was actually one of my choices, I told him I didn't need to see any other options. Mark Smith was the Project Manager for the rebuild and his energy and confidence gave me great confidence in my decision. His team was constant and professional. There were some scheduling issues, and one heck of a heat-wave, but all their hard work came together in a few weeks. Mark's constant check-in's and showing up to help clean up or assist with the project was stellar and really helped keep my mind at ease and the redesign of the space and it's completion as smooth as possible. I could not recommend F.Lax Construction enough! Thank you all for your hard work and professionalism.

Our experience with this company—particularly with the assigned project manager, Brandon Mazzacco—was deeply upsetting and unacceptable from start to finish. Mr. Mazzacco was consistently unprofessional, failed to communicate clearly, and generally did not appear to know what he was doing. He provided an inaccurate timeline at the outset and failed to consult with the work crews responsible for carrying out the job to ensure it was feasible. As a result, the timeline was extended at the very last minute—not once, but three separate times—which left our family displaced from our home for three times longer than we were originally told.The quality of the work performed was equally unacceptable. Much of the work was done poorly, and in several instances, it was completed entirely incorrectly. We repeatedly raised these concerns with Mr. Mazzacco, who failed to address them adequately. As a result, areas of our home were damaged—damage that could and should have been avoided had the work been done with care, competence, respect, and proper oversight.What is most disturbing, however, is the growing belief my wife and I share that this mistreatment and negligence were not just a matter of incompetence, but deliberate. As a mixed-race gay couple, we could not help but notice the dismissive tone, condescension, and blatant lack of respect we received throughout the process. We cannot ignore the pattern of disregard and the persistent failure to correct mistakes that, in our view, went beyond negligence and bordered on discriminatory behavior.We expected a professional experience. What we received instead was disrespect, broken promises, substandard workmanship, damage to our home, and a lingering sense that we were never treated as equal or valued clients. No family should have to experience this—especially in their own home.

Brandon Mazzacco and his crew did an amazing job renovating our bathroom! The carpenter James is an expert and pays great attention to detail. T the painter is so good at drywall and paint. We are so happy they did our job.

The service was excellent. The communication could be improved from start to finish. Otherwise, the quality of the work was exceptional. The finished job is perfect.

Don the contractor was great, but there was a lot of lack of engagement that led to a lot of problems with the project manager. I'm still waiting for the correct paperwork to be submitted. There was extreme lack of engagement, leading to extensive delays.

F. Lax took an incredible amount of time and had consistent problems following up with our project to the point of our project being redirected to a new manager. Then after that it took about another 2 months to get everything done. They even went as far as drilling into our floor without disclosing this to us.

They did a fine job in redesigning and installing the front window. They also did a good job in putting up a utility shed for me.

We worked with F Lax to restore our house after a fire in 2017. While originally courteous and responsive, the company had incredible amounts of turnover during our 8-month process and repeatedly did not respond to emails or requests in a timely manner, missed or overlooked items, and ultimately added a significant amount of time and stress to the overall ordeal. Our project manager was switched multiple times with the only notice being a lack of responsive to multiple inquiries and the house was returned to us in a dirty condition with several items still needing to be addressed. The project required intervention from the insurance company multiple times to get things done. I would not recommend this company.

Took too long to complete the work! I always had to call to complete the work. The work my insurance company was billed was not done.

Great response to the initial damage when a tree fell on our house. I should have hired someone else to do the repairs. Minor repairs took over 3 months. Terrible communication. "Be there tomorrow"...no show, etc. Employees, when they showed up, were very nice and did a great job. I understand that the supervisors have been dismissed, so maybe it's better now.

The address was not correct, they got a permit in the wrong city. It took four months to get any work done. The first contractor we dealt with would not return calls and was not responsive. Once we got a second contractor, things began to happen and the work was completed somewhat satisfactorily.

F Lax team did a great job of on our restoration project. Professional in their customer service with high quality work completed.

Took much longer than expected, had so many problems with flooring, still not right. I have found several things that need to be fixed, trim not nailed down, carpet not nailed down. We decided to fix them ourselves and do it right. Never again.

I would not recommend this company. Questionable workmanship, substituted used or lower quality materials for what was quoted, cut other corners while still trying to bill insurance for full job, made an absolute mess of my house and yard while working and did not finish the project (which was a relief by that point.) I also would not recommend AAA, as they added to a poor experience with their contractor. Made the stressful situation of suffering home damage even more stressful.

F Lax did an awesome job on the addition and bathroom conversion project in my home! My husband and I are extremely pleased with the work that was performed. F Lax came highly recommended to us, and we, in turn, highly recommend them for all of your construction needs!

The overall experience using F Lax Construction was a positive one, however, the team that repaired our garage roof left a very large mess that had to be cleaned up later. Although the mess was cleaned up to our satisfaction, it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
