I have only been about 4 days, but in those days I have seen an improvement in my sciatica. Taking the chair yoga classes taught by Kira, has been excellent for me. She is an excellent teacher and is patient (especially with me) knowing each of our disabilities and encourages us to go the full limit. She knows her "stuff". I am so glad that I decided on her class to try first. My first visit there, she took me into the gym to show me what machine I should use and exercises to do to help with the sciatica. She did this on her own time. I will continue going to her classes.
The staff is always pleasant and will engage when asked a question. The front desk is well manned and friendly. They do not engage unless asked in the wellness center but then again I am not looking for that.
I do notice there are some that do not wipe the machines down after they are used. I am sure that is noticed by the staff. I am sure it is not a law but it is proper etiquette. But overall a wonderful experience and I am thrilled to be a member.
Very nice facility and great staff!
Clean and efficient
Great assistance from Amy
The pool for exercise and therapy
My granddaughter is autistic, 5 years old and loves the water. Her instructor Mayla, was patient and engaging. Ellie trusted Mayla and followed her instructions.
Handicap access in locker rooms and pool and AIR CONDITIONING!
The instructor Ethan was great. He was very personable and professional. My grandson enjoyed him and the lessons very much. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we had to discontinue after two lessons. I would definitely recommend Ethan as an instructor.
She didn't push
I'm extremely scared of the water. She explained everything. She asked me how far I wanted to go and when I got tired we stopped. I highly recommend her seniors and children.
We are very pleased with Vincent's progress and with both of his instructors. Chris went above and beyond to find information on autistic children to help him help Vincent; we truly appreciated his efforts. When he left for college he turned Vincent's training over to well qualified new trainer.
Nick was very professional and knowledgeable and patient with my son. I thought ge did a great job
The wire aquatics program has something for everyone!
The YMCA has always been a place for my family to learn and become healthier. We've been going since I was a kid in Chicago back in the late 60's. I enjoyed Karate then and now probably Tai Chi. Great place to workout.
You didn’t disappoint me. It’s always crowded, several people just sitting on equipment talking. In my opinion, the stretching and floor mat area should not be s open right in front of, like being on stage. Makes a lot of people uncomfortable and reluctant to use this area. Your membership fee is quite high, compared to other gyms, I would expect better for this price.
A wonderful friendly staff and I love the poo.
Why wouldn't I. Lots to do for everyone
The issue is your equipment is outdated and not properly in the right place to perform a great workout.
Love the lap pool! Clean and good water temperature. The only drawback is that if you're a working adult who does laps, you can't get a lane for a long chunk of time (generally 3:30 to 7, M-F. )This is a big inconvenience. But I am appreciative that the staff now leaves one large (double) lane that at least 2 of us can use when the teams are practicing. There used to be a single lane with stairs at the end and that was impossible. I think the fairest solution is to give the teams 5 lanes for practice, and lap swimmers 3 lanes, in the late afternoons and early evenings, as this is a time that is more convenient for many of us. Just a suggestion!
I enjoy the water aerobics classes that I attend and feel it helps me keep active and stay somewhat social.
Have only been there once. The people, and my granddaughters loved the pools.
I have only
The Citrus YMCA is a beautiful facility that welcomes people of all ages and serves the community well. This Y is undergoing an addition to expand its programs, classes and outdoor Pickleball courts and will offer Citrus County an even more awesome state-of-the-art facility.
The YMCA is conveniently located and has a great variety of machines
I love this YMCA, the people are nice, and I encourage people in my age group 65+ to check it out. It’s a great opportunity for us to stay active and social.
I love the group workouts, I just wish Barbra’s cycling at 11 am class would come back.
First rate facility
Need more water cardio/aerobics classes. Losing Kelcey was a huge unnecessary disappointment.
Friendly atmosphere and variety of exercise equipment keeps me coming back!
My insurance covers the Membership fee.
Lots of classes, friendly staff and great gym equipment!
I would like to speak with someone about the children programs .
Beautiful facility, many classes.
I especially love the variety & quality of the classes. The Wellness Exercise Center is rather good too but often overly crowded. Presume the additions will help remedy the crowding of both some classes & facility as a whole.
Wanted to join the Y for some time, now that has happened, am waiting to get my wife to sign up
Amy checked me in on Monday & she was very knowledgeable, kind and patient!
I felt very welcomed right away. I went directly to water aerobics and then again on Wednesday and Friday! Great group of ladies who made me feel right at home!
The showers and facilities were very clean, which I greatly appreciated!
I will definitely be spreading the word!
It is literally changing my life. I signed up due to my doctor's recommendation because I have been grieving the loss of my mother and I was isolating myself from others. It has been the best thing for me not only physically but emotionally.
I have recommended the YMCA to many other people as I feel it is a wonderful source of exercise, maintaining good health, having socialization and making friends. Since I moved to Homosassa, this is where I have met most of my friends.
Great place to work on individual goals in an either group setting or alone. I think the group classes boost motivation a build community. The encouragement and push by group instructors make the classes want to get the most out of their offerings. Particularly Cathy W. Monday and Wednesday 8:15. Natalie at body pump is helps and motivates to put just a bit extra in. My only negative is when sign up says 30 and they let in 40 is not ok to follow rules one day and not the next. Floor space is important to be able to maximize the freedom to participate in the excercise completely and not be jammed up by walk-ins.
I like that there are plenty of machines and you don’t have to wait in line to use them. I like how friendly the staff is and all the people that go there.
Joining the Y has helped me inside & out!!
Variety of classes available and great instructors all the way around.
How clean the entire area is
I enjoy exercising and talking with others while I am in the pool.
The gym always is clean, although sometimes is a little crowded and the machines that I like to use are busy, still the staff is nice.
The pool water temperature is too cold for most of the seniors. I would send my friends to another pool which is actually heated.
I have been a member of the Y for the past 10 years and it has been a sheer joy & delight! I am in better physical shape now than when I was 40 years old. What would be not to love!
You guys rock!!
People, staff and participants are friendly. Always smiles. Work staff always helpful and take time to answer questions.
It's such a wonderful facility.
Is there a way to make the fitness center cooler? It gets so hot on sunny days. The sun beats down through those southern windows. Either curtains, more fans, lower thermostat setting. Or all of the above! 😁
