Old people sit at the machines and talk with their friends it happens everyday. when I go over to them and ask if they are almost done they get mad. you would think your staff thats standing around would tell everyone while on machines do your sets and be done talk while you work out. Its very frustrating when your trying to workout and you have to walk around in circles while people are having social hour while sitting on machines. happens everyday. this needs to be addressed signs must be put up and staff must enforce. I tell everyone that asked me about joining not to join because of this . then they all sit right in front of coffee area and its hard to get by them to get a coffee. if someone would like to call me I would love to have a talk. I could show you any day of the week what im talking about.
Beautiful facility, great classes!
I would like a tai chi class indoors. The tai-fit isn't right for me.
Best Ymca in all aspects!
The classes are wonderful, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the facility is always clean. The only negative, and it's a big one, is the lack of sauna and steam room. Just because it’s Florida it doesn’t mean that we don’t appreciate these features. I know many people who are disappointed about this.
Never have I gone to Citrus County YMCA
Lots of modern equipment and free-weights. Cost is great! Lots of classes to choose from.
There is a very good sense of community. The staff is helpful and the other members are friendly and warm.
Silver sneakers classes are way too crowded. You can only schedule 24 hours in advance and they fill up in 5 minutes. Not good.
Cathy Wagar, Kira, and Tammy are great instructors. The front desk staff are always helpful and friendly.
It is difficult to use machines because people hang out on them and hold conversations. I have stopped even trying to work out on the three machines I need for my therapy. I will sometimes just go to a different gym for that purpose that is closer to my home of Floral City. Not worth an argument. But on a great note Cathy and Kira are there to help in my therapy and so caring.
Such a huge variety of healthy choices, equipment and classes , as well as activities and events.
The Silver sneakers class that I attend is very popular. it is at 9:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have clicked on it right at 9:45 and sometimes i have been the first to sign up....and other times the class is already filled up at 9:45....How does this happen? others have issues like this as well.
I love the ability to try various classes. I love using the pool. And my personal trainer Matt is a wealth of knowledge and do encouraging. He has me working hard and I can see a big difference in my posture and strength.
Convenient
There's a variety of opportunities for different types of exercise. Something for everyone
There are a lot of lap swim times.
Until the resurface is completed, I'm not recommending anyone - hopefully the work is done quickly as there are MANY who rely on the pool for medical and physical reasons and 6 - 8 weeks is detrimental. In the meantime, I hope those toilet areas connected to the OUTSIDE pool deck are scrubbed and sanitized so well that you could eat off the floor - they are neglected. I have asked cleaning staff about them several times and am told the night crew is supposed to do them, but night crew doesn't. I'll come in for masters or earlier and the same bits of grit, grass, mold and toilet paper that were on the floor for days before are still there. About 3 weeks ago I asked one of the young girls who cleans during the day about cleaning those toilet areas and she put one out of order and said she'd tell her boss. C-Diff, Athletes' foot, staph, MRSA, common types of bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, often tracked in from soil, and Faecal streptococci, which can indicate fecal contamination are all present on both locker room, pool deck and outside toilet floors. Unless the cleaning staff is leaving their cleaning products (which hopefully have the FDA disinfectant approval and aren't some cheap product from a discount source) on these surfaces for at least 10 minutes, these areas are not being sanitized. A quick wipe over just spreads the contaminants. Also, where the locker room floors have been hosed towards the drains, they don't hose the dirty water fully down the drains so when the water puddles as it's draining around the drain and in the corners, dried dirty residue remains. The pool deck is another area of neglect where it is rarely scrubbed and green algae actually grows on the areas where the roof drips, and under the mats in front of the doors. Looking forward to a sparkling clean pool environment.
This is the 3rd time I have tried the YMCA, & each time very disappointed. Your children's program is truly one of the worst ran programs.
Which is really sad because you have a very nice building and great potential.
It is quite obvious that this for the senior citizen and children are not a priority. Every program we have participated has been a disaster and a waste of money.
The teacher didn't know how to teach swimming.
I find your lifeguard to be absent most of the time
You’re aquatics director speaks to no one and does not understand how to run a pool or an operation
Flexible schedule Easy check-in. Nice people.
Wonderful atmosphere, welcoming staff and instructors.
It is a wonderful facility with many different types of exercise with swimming and yoga and Line Dancing. They are my favorites. It keeps me feeling healthy and happy. I love seeing all my friends at the YMCA.❤️
There is a need for indoor Pickleball. In the summer, it’s too hot to play outside on rainy days. We don’t get to play. Additional parking is needed.
Love the pool and everyone is friendly
