Everyone needs to exercise at some level
The main exercise area was renovated with new equipment.
Very nice, organized and clean place. Now, with the upgraded health equipment it is a real contender to any health club in the area. We love it.
I know you all are going through 'new install' pains. I voiced this issue recently with the new TVs & Bluetooth audio. The old TV's had a similar problem. The app downloaded with the QR Code works great. The audio has a LOT of latency (Lip not synching) and chirps making it impossible to listen to the TV's with yout BT headphones. I am sure it is coming from the TV settings, maybe firmware update or AV Sync or Audio Delay on the TV's. Easy fix. I will be willing to help with this if needed.
The only reason is the cost which keeps going up. Hard as a senior on fixed income to pick where to spend your money
Enjoy going. Recent changes/upgrade removed the aerobic machine I used and didn't replace it with something similar. First eliminated all but 2, then took those 2 away and didn't replace with similar machine.
Staff is always helpful and welcoming. Classes are energizing, fun and instructors are knowledgable and attentive!
I have one complaint. I usually take the silver senior classes. Starting at 8:15 in the morning. There needs to be overhead fans not those individual black fans. Some people feel they are their own personal fan and they move it so that it blows on them and bothers other people. There’s always an argument about the fans. A lot of us do not like the fans blowing directly on us. The people who want the fans directly on themselves get nasty and tell you to move if you don’t like it. Please address this situation.
Thankful the stretching tables were kept after the wellness center was updated but disappointed that now only 2 instead of 3. Would have been a deal breaker for me if they were eliminated. Also the new elliptical bikes are awful in comparison to previous ones, and hope that at least one of the 2 upright bikes with wide cushioned seats are available often. Some of the new equipment is better, but some will take some getting used to.
the new update is nice. besides can't beat the price since my part B pays for it!
Group exercises, body pump, zumba , hit , cardio strength classes
From the smiles at the front door to the spotless bathroom and sparkling gym , there’s something for everyone. The pool is sparkling and spacious, the variety of group classes is impressive and the child care is professional and attentive.
The coffee and tea in the lobby complement the social scene perfectly.
The staff is always helpful and the facilities are very clean and well maintained. Very good value in terms of membership fees as well!
The two "Cathy's are super great silver sneakers instructors
One of the best YMCA facilities in the country !
It’s a wonderful place to get healthier and make great acquaintances. Excellent staff and volunteers
The pool is clean, watched by lifeguards
The red machines are great for when you don’t have a lot of time but I think those machines should be in a side room with a timer to encourage people to move along. Some people just sit on their phones and I will go do 2-3 other machines and that same person will be on the same machine.
The new gym is opening up down the street and they are cheaper so I already have joined and I will compare the two. I don’t use the pool at the Y so I’m not sure I find the Y at this point a better value.
I have only been about 4 days, but in those days I have seen an improvement in my sciatica. Taking the chair yoga classes taught by Kira, has been excellent for me. She is an excellent teacher and is patient (especially with me) knowing each of our disabilities and encourages us to go the full limit. She knows her "stuff". I am so glad that I decided on her class to try first. My first visit there, she took me into the gym to show me what machine I should use and exercises to do to help with the sciatica. She did this on her own time. I will continue going to her classes.
The staff is always pleasant and will engage when asked a question. The front desk is well manned and friendly. They do not engage unless asked in the wellness center but then again I am not looking for that.
I do notice there are some that do not wipe the machines down after they are used. I am sure that is noticed by the staff. I am sure it is not a law but it is proper etiquette. But overall a wonderful experience and I am thrilled to be a member.
Very nice facility and great staff!
Clean and efficient
Great assistance from Amy
The pool for exercise and therapy
My granddaughter is autistic, 5 years old and loves the water. Her instructor Mayla, was patient and engaging. Ellie trusted Mayla and followed her instructions.
