It's so helpful to have childcare while I work out!

My child struggles with kid zone. I feel like if the employees had more training in early childhood development, they would be more likely to be able to help children feel comfortable to go to kid zone.

There have been multiple times that some of the employees don't seem interested in being there and being with the children. Some have seemed resentful for being assigned the kid zone.

My kids love the jungle gym. They are always excited about going at the Kid zone.

The staff are so nice to kids and parents, they show a genuine interest in the kids, and they take excellent care of them. Being at the kids zone is one of the best times in my kid's day!

I just would not personally charge a fee for this. We already pay a membership fee monthly. This should be included in that.

I would feel so much better having my kid at kidzone if they weren’t playing that giant iPad game. I would rather them be playing and connecting with other kids

It depends on the age. Younger kids yes, but once they are a little older it can be boring

Many of the team know my child as she walks in the door. They are all very kind and welcoming.

The staff with the kids often (not all staff, and not always) look disengaged or disinterested in their work. It doesn't make me feel comfortable leaving my kids there.

Compassionate, patient, understanding.

Lately the staff at the Kid Zone have been very organized, professional and vigilant. A year or so ago the process for checking kids in/out and letting them in/out of the gate and door was very haphazard and did not instill a lot of confidence. Weve been going regularly since November 2025 and the process has been so much tighter. Thank you!

Only complaint is the times the kid zone is open. I wish there was a buffer from when the classes end and the childcare closes. It’s always chaos trying to get a kid from a youth experience program and get the others from the kid zone at the same time. Another example, the kid zone closes at 1pm, and I never get to stretch at the end of my noon barre class. Give a 10-minute buffer on the hour it closes.

Konrad is always happy to go to kid zone while I attend a claas.

Staff is always friendly and helpful, and willing to help the children and calm them if need be.

Staff Friendly and understanding.

All of the staff at the Briggs kid zone are amazing and my daughter loves them! They have always been quick to contact me when any issue arises and I trust them to take good care of my child.

I appreciate that the caregivers pick up my child when they are upset. They are also kind and patient.

I’d probably recommend to others with young children. However, my kids are 8 and 10 and when they go in the mornings there are only very little children and the older kid area with age appropriate activities is closed, so they have nothing enjoyable to do.

I’ve only taken my child to the kids zone a couple of times within those times I had 2 kids be mean to mine on two separate occasions. Although I know this can happen in a multiple kid environment however there was only 2 staff members to about 20+ kids in one room. There wasn’t enough space for all the kids or enough staff to keep an eye on the kids. Neither time did a staff member pay attention to the incidents. The second time a staff member picked up the kid who tried to bite my kid and tried to take the toy from my kid. Staff removed the kid from the situation however mine was crying and there was no attention given. I ended up getting my own kid to comfort. I’ve also noticed the floors being very dirty, a bandaid on the floor without being picked up, inappropriate sized toys in the baby area such as a small ball could have been choked on. I removed it and handed it to staff they seemed unbothered. There’s not really a secure why of containing kids yes there’s baby gates that older kids can open and let babies out. There needs to be age appropriate areas separated and more staff, not inexperienced kids watching kids.

It would be helpful to extend the child area hours to include Sunday and an extra hour in the evenings on weekdays.

its easy and convienent for our family needs

Often the tube playing area is closed. Or they remove the children and close it while they’re playing. Also, my 6 month old child cries when I’m gone and they call me immediately and have me com get him. I can’t work out.

I know my child is safe and having fun while I get get a good work out in

I love taking my son to the daycare. It is one of the few places in Olympia/Tumwater that has a daycare in the gym. All the workers there are also so kind! There are a few things I would suggest for improvement: I wish the under 2 year old area open more. I also think the tall play ground area should be restricted. My son went up there and was stuck since it is too old for him which could be dangerous. I also think the play area needs more sanitation since my son got sick the first few days going there. Overall though I really appreciate the program!

It's clean, staff àre friendly, and my child loves going to it.

The kids are always excited to go to the kid zone. The staff has without exception been friendly, attentive and quick. The kid zone is a MAJOR benefit at the Brigg's Y and we feel very thankful for all the people who contribute to making it such a great resource. Thanks!

My kid loves it, the kids are pretty packed in there so I wouldn't recommend this to someone worried about their kid getting sick.

My only complaint is with the checkout system. I wish there was a way to scan the child out instead of just asking for them. It makes me worried some random person could look through the window and read my child’s name tag and then go ask for them. My child may just be too young.

I have received a call the last 2 times to pick up my child due to crying. I have been unable to work out and now am hesitant to even use kid zone and therefore considering canceling my membership.

Just having a break for 30 minutes to do a set is fantastic and they are always looking forward to the kid zone.

Love the offering; employees good with my kid; fun play area

My kids always look forward to hang out there.

Could be cleaner. The bathroom usually smells and dust bunnies everywhere so worries mee about the toys being clean.

The staff is wonderful, the space is always cleaned and disinfected , my child always enjoys themselves.

There's a lot of kids to few staff

Having more hours of availability especially on Sundays would be fabulous. The hours for the gym itself make it hard enough to come let alone trying to figure out how to get there with a child.

This place is clean, the staff is respectful and friendly and my daughter loves it here.

My kids always have fun and the check-in/out is always smooth. It's so nice to have somewhere to drop my kids off so I can exercise.

Be open more often especially on weekends

I am not able to utilize it as much as I’d like because of the limited hours. Keeping it open until 8pm would be SO nice, as the class I enjoy going to goes from 7-7:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays. please consider extending the hours slightly (or move classes up to match the times child care is offered)

The staff are all super friendly and very patient

Clean environment, friendly staff. My kids look forward to their time at the Y!

Wish the hours were different during the week. Would use more often if there were earlier time slots available.

It’s very fun mix of things to do. He loves to climb the playground area and he always talks to his friend.

The childcare area is good enough but my 6 year old struggles to stay entertained while there. The space doesn’t seem big enough and the toy selection could be updated.

My younger kids love it but by the time they turn 9/10/11 they’ve outgrown it. Problem is then they’re only allowed to use machines but we use free weights so they are just bored. Not sure what would entertain them more in the kid zone but they’re bored in there.

Everyone there is so nice and makes me feel like they’re actually paying attention to my kids.

We have lived in the area since early July and have been sick with 2 stomach viruses and a cold. This is the ONLY place my children are going. My kids are always returned to me with black hands and feet because it’s so filthy in there. Everyone is extremely friendly, which is nice. But clearly the kids zone is not being cleaned well, or at all. And other children are definitely not being screened for illness. Once our youngest is walking we will be switching to the Valley.

The employees at the the Briggs Kidzone are so patient and kind. They have been understanding and empathetic—I’ve been taking my daughter to the kidzone since she was 3 months old and there’s never been a time where I’ve been worried about her. She loves it at the kidzone! Shoutouts to Sue, Isabella, Ali, Kylia, (Sam too when she worked there) they are amazing.

My son and daughter are always excited to go to the Kid Zone area while I work out. The staff quickly learned our names and greet us by name.
