It's a little pricier than my local gym, and an extra 35 minutes away, but I love the variety of classes and the pool.
Friendly, welcoming, good variety of activities
Very comprehensive activities and great staff!
I love the ymca. The guests and staff are always friendly. And the Barre class taught by Maren is absolutely fantastic.
Though Briggs is a a
I have had conversations with members of your staff regarding your aquatics program including the program manager. I've asked about the signage that states that you must shower before entering the pool or hot tub. Yet I have never seen the staff enforce this rule. The reason you have so much surface foam on the hot tub is directly a result of all the perfumes, deodorants, hair gels, and various other contaminants. It also states that no shoes are to be worn around the pool surfaces. Walk into the men's shower area and look down...The other day there was actual dirt in the form of shoe prints headed to the pool area. If the signs are meant to be mear sugestions then state it as such OR enforce state health code which requires the enforcment.
Great classes, instructors, and staff but parking is an issue at both briggs and plum,
Either develop more parking or spread out the classes. Stop doing more than one survey a year.
Overcrowded, no parking which will only get worse when several hundred apts added to that area.
Several times I've showed up for a class and it is something by video.
The women’s locker room showers are not clean. This is off putting.
Love that there are no blaring TVs. The facility is always very clean and the machinery is well maintained. I LOVE that they got the Solitaire app back on the treadmills :-)
I like that it’s a community gym and not a typical gym. I LOVE the dance classes!
Briggs YMCA is truly a vibrant gathering place for family and friends—a welcoming community center filled with energy, connection, and care. From the joyful laughter of young children to the steady presence of older generations, it brings people of all ages together in a spirit of inclusiveness and encouragement. The atmosphere is friendly, active, and uplifting, where people support one another in their journeys toward physical health and mental well-being. It’s more than just a place to exercise—it’s a place where community thrives,
I am not at the Y to make friends. I just attend a few classes and play pb. I would recommend people go to the Y if they want to
The facility, especially the locker rooms need to be updated and remodeled.
I only got the membership for swimming and the pool is always PACKED
Briggs Y has been very crowded the last few months. No parking available 0845-0900, especially MON, WED, FRI when 0800 and 0900 classes intersect plus full pickleball crowd.
Good facility! Plus I like to workout with friends
Your Upper Administration staff/Managers are unhelpful and don’t return calls. I have to call several times and leave several messages and even then, they rarely call back. It makes it really unfortunate and difficult for your frontline staff, because they have “Leaders” that put them in challenging situations when these so-called “Leaders” aren’t doing their job and frontline staff take the brunt of customer-service. If there were more options in our community that had a pool and childcare, I would definitely be going to them. At this point, I believe I’m wasting my money for a location that doesn’t care.
Great facilities for families
There are so many children in thr weight room and the parking lot is always full of parents waiting in their car, leaving no spots for others to park. Also, the y allowed somebody to well puppy mill puppies outside the building last year and that is still weird
Well-trained staff, great facilities, lots of options for class times
The facilities are nice, the staff is kind, our son loves swim lessons (and he is hard to please)
I often recommend it to friends who can receive a free membership through their Medicare health plan. I really enjoy the pool classes.
