Clean up the mold in the shower area and tiles leading into the pool area. Put some hanging shower racks inside the shower racks to hold shampoos, etc. The tiny soap dishes aren't big enough.
It's just such an average experience. Neither very good or very bad.
Friendly staff, met some great people and made friends!
The reason for the 8 mark and not a 10 is the inconsistency of the pool temperature. It is extremely uncomfortable to have to go into a cold pool when it’s supposed to be “heated”.
This is a wonderful venue for making friends while working out.
My instructors are awesome
The staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoy the pool, Tai Chi classes, and weights.
Because everyone who works there is so kind and friendly! The instructors are amazing especially Ashley who teaches chair yoga!
I've been swimming laps at the Y for several months. I am a distance swimmer and paid close attention to the schedule. But I found that on any given day, the lap lanes would be used by folks who can't swim, or I'd be asked to move to accommodate people with special needs, right in the middle of a set. It was frustrating and very often I was with those same swimmers who don't know how to share a lane. On the upside, the Y was a godsend these past months because I've been training for an open water swim and needed to get time almost daily in the water. But I wonder if you could modify the "lap" schedule a bit so that athletes and dedicated lap swimmers could actually lap swim at given times, and that folks who want to recreate or just float, could have a different time. There were a lot of people going into my lane, or kicking me in the leg or arm.
The pools, the friendly and competent staff, the available locker rooms, plenty of parking, the maintenance.
I believe in the mission of the Y and work each time I am there and when I speak about the Y to others to say that loud and clear. The Y is a welcoming place to all and helps all to live well.
Super friendly and welcoming staff. Nice variety of classes and a Swim Yeam!!
The water temp in the big pool needs to be better regulated. It's often too cold and it's very uncomfortable, often resulting in myself feeling cold all day after going home.
I know I'm not the only one with this on-going complaint.
Very courteous staff, and fitness instructor is excellent.
Monthly membership cost is very fair for value. My only wish is that the youth experiences for the two youngest groups were better organized and that instructors were more involved. As they are currently run, with little to no involvement from instructors, they are not worth the cost.
I only use Briggs for water volleyball. I am 86 years old on a fixed income and I wish I could get a discount on my membership. Also, I am frustrated that the hot tub and bathing suit dryer are often out of service. I hate the new lockers.
Modern, clean, very well equipped facilities, made affordable and accessible by linking up with my Medicare Advantage program, plus introductory tour and friendly staff to answer my questions. What's not to love?
I enjoy the ease of access and have recommended they Y already 🤗
Front desk people have horrible customer service skills. I know they are mostly checking people in scanning
The atmosphere and the peoples, the climbing wall, and definitely the hot tub
Staff are so friendly and helpful! Instructors are marvelous!
Too crowded. Facility is small. Wait for machi es and weights is too long. Pickleball only has 3 corts
Nice facility with comfortable atmosphere. I would appreciate it if you could change the bathroom hand soaps to a non-scented type as I am allergic to fragrances. Thanks
I really wish Briggs had a dry sauna room. I split my time between Briggs for swimming and Plum St for sauna sessions.
Excellent!! Welcoming!! 🥰😍🌟☀️🤩
I felt welcomed in and immediately found the water class I was in need of for my bone on bone knee. The joints in motion class is doing wonders for my mental health and showing me that there is still something I can do despite my pain.
I just joined and everyone has been very welcoming!
Convenient location, friendly staff, wide variety of equipment and classes for every age and fitness level.
My daughter and her friend are joining.
Friendly staff; variety of offerings
I have been disappointed at the lost opportunities for the Y to walk-out it's mission...from the front entrance (lack of greeting/smile to ALL folks who enter, a greeting upon exit...all are opportunities to strengthen your bond with your members and exhibit your mission in action) Missed opportunities cannot be regained. Your very confusing enrollment matrix...go on a mobile and try to join as a senior and see what you get:( Again, a missed opportunity to start things off on a "welcoming and clear note". Your staff seem exhibit a lack of uniform training on front desk interactions (just a guess) and should model their ongoing training. Kayla does stand out as an exception to the disappointing front desk protocols. She makes a excellent effort and is engaging! Thank you, Kayla.
Please don't call me about this, I have accepted that this is what the Y Briggs is going to perform and have seen it repeat month after month...it is your decision to implement expectations that your "walk your talk". Motivation for staying is location is convenient.
Hooks to hang diaper bags, duffel bags, or towels in the family changing area.
The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. I liked the free orientation with a trainer. The gyms are well maintained.
variety of classes
More assertive swim instructors
Main pool water could be warmer. Locker room and shower area very chilly
Keep equipment in working condition. The rower closest to the squat rack has a chain that is sticky/slack and it's been like that for months and months.
The almost daily opportunity to lap swim is what I value most (though not on Sunday obviously). My schedule changes constantly, so I appreciate having options available each day to select when I can swim. I'm frustrated when the options are limited, realizing that staffing and competing uses for the pool are likely the issues. I hope the Y constantly monitors the shifts in lane usage so that when there's consistent crowding for
The pool chemicals are very strong. If I swim more that once a week I get a chlorine rash across my whole back. This is particularly unfortunate becaue I got my membership initially specifically to swim and use the pool regularly.
I understand that many people use the pool, but I've not experienced chlorine rash anywhere else before and had to go to my doctor for confirmation.
I can swim once a week and it seems to be okay if I wear a rash guard and heavily moisturize my back a while before I go. I may try to go twice a week and see if I still get a rash.
I just got the membership to swim, but due to the chlorine rash, I end up using the cardio room for workouts too.
Good variety of gym equipment. Morgan on Saturday morning is an awesome zumba teacher.
Personal training
Great staff, lots of activities :)
Safe and friendly and clean
The Plum YMCA has sauna. It will be better if this location has one as well.
The Moms Get Strong class with Vanessa is the best!
No one seems to know anything at the front desk about classes or instructors. And when I try to get clarity the attitude is I should just go away, look at the website and leave them alone to do nothing but greet members as they come in.
Great equipment and classes. Firendly staff. Good hours. Clean facility
excellent staff, clean and full of happy people!
I do not make recommendations to people about anything.
Comments:
I’ve recently had two wonderful interactions with aquatic staff (and unfortunately, one that I’m trying to forget.)
Also, hoping that the hair dryer in the men’s locker room will be operational again soon—seems like it’s been out of order for months and months.
The staff are always helpful and courteous.
