Bad timing that earlier this month (Dec.) we learned we needed some serious roof repairs or maybe even a new installation. Of the local roofers I contacted, Alte was the only one who was able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. They also had a load of great reviews & a top BBB rating, so I made an appt for Chris to do an inspection & go over some options. He was thorough, professional, & took the time to explain all the details & answer our questions. Despite the sticker shock, we decided a new roof was the way to go. The weather cooperated & 2 weeks later, over 2 days, the job was done. I can't say enough good things about Chris, Frank (project manager), & the site foreman & his incredible crew. The organization, workmanship (which also included new chimney flashing & roof vent repairs), & communication were all great. Everything was carefully prepped, but I was especially impressed by (& grateful for) the thorough cleanup -- even down to small things like placing the patio furniture & window well covers back exactly as they were.
Whether it all proves to be a "good value" is subjective & depends on things like budget; but the new roof does look beautiful, & if the GAF 50-yr warranty holds up as claimed, then yes, it's a good value. Bottom line: I would recommend Alte without any hesitation.

Our new roof, skylight and gutters more than met our expectations. The office staff worked with us on timing of the installations and kept us informed on what to expect and when. The installation crews were just as commendable with every care taken to protect house, deck and landscaping. After-project cleanup was very thorough. Alte Roofing came to our rescue after a roofer we had a contract with told us he no longer wanted the job. I was in a panic as our roof was at the point where it was leaking. A friend recommended Alti and I called them that day. They sent someone out very quickly and scheduled our roof installation within a month. Communication was great, telling us what steps to take and when the roof would be installed. The installers worked very hard and left the place spotless. Couldn't be happier!

Was very satisfied with the people that I dealt with. However, it would have been nice to have known that they were going to sub the job out to a secondary company, might have gone in a different direction. It felt kind of sneaky, perhaps I should have known better.

I would NEVER recommend Alte Roofing, They left me with $5300 in damage, didn't want to correct it, and tried to manipulate me into paying their bill AND for the damage by stating that they won't pay their roofing employees, whose families are suffering because I refuse to pay for their damages, until I pay for the damages and their installation. And he had the nerve to state that if I don't pay for the damages too, God will judge me. Unprofessional! Unethical! ENOUGH!!!

The workmanship and the crew were great except an underlying issue wasn't handled as discussed. I informed them about an existing dip that snapped half my roof and discussed repair costs for the beams underneath to fix the problem, but no repairs were made for the problem and when I asked after they were finished why I still had a dip I was told that "they would have had to do beam repairs to fix it" which is what I had agreed to pay for in the first place. So now I have a $12,000 sagging roof. Not to mention the base quote was $3,000 higher than a previous quote from another contractor which I equated to meaning that I would be getting a better quality of work

The workman came to the door, introduced himself, worked briefly it seems to me, but since I can't see the work without getting on a ladder, I must assume the work was done o.k. The charge for such a short job was certainly more than I expected to pay.
