Construction Quality - As a mortgage professional of nearly 40 years, I have known and worked with many builders and Windsong is truly a class act and build a beautiful home.
I was very pleased with the building time and the quality of the work. Since the house was finished, we have lived there for 7 months. We really like the community. They are building 15 houses on the cul-de-sac, and they are a remarkable building company. They keep the streets and yards very clean. They are up there building, but you can still get in and get out. Everything is kept organized, managed and cleaned up.
Recognized Excellence - Brian the builder is very courteous and always helps if you have any problems. He oversees the building of the houses. Joyce in the front office was very kind and courteous. The lady from the design center, Amy, was very professional, polite and happy. Diane Miller was very kind, polite and knew her stuff.
Recognized Excellence - I would like to recognize Diane, Amy, and Brian for their exceptional service and for being knowledgeable!
I just like everything they do, everything about the builder, and i’m as happy as ants at a summer picnic!
Sales Community Presentation - They had to show me what made this model different from if I bought a new home. They clearly made me see that buying this model now was a good investment. I am happier than I have been in 28 years.
Customer Suggestion - Teach other builders how to be as good as you are. I have done this before, with small and large companies, and it has never been as wonderful as this experience. They also treated the real estate agent nicely, and I would to add that as well.
Recognized Excellence - Sherry Vining and Jane (my initial contact at the model home) were wonderfully pleasant. And, Jeff was wonderful. Also, Brian and Brett were exceptional.
Additional Comments - I consider Windsong as family. They are welcome at my family reunion. I am serious. I talk a lot about things that I feel strongly about and am passionate about. They are wonderful.
They're beautiful homes. I love the space given for a courtyard. It's the only active adult place that I found that gives you enough space for outdoor living.
Additional Comments - Driving thru the entrance gates on my first visit to Echols Farm, I knew then that this community was home for me. Meeting and working especially with Joyce and Amy and the rest of the Windsong Properties Team members made my home buying process during the Covid-19 pandemic a much smoother transition. Their patience, knowledge and optimism doesn’t go with notice.
Everyone that I worked with were awesome. From Sherry and Bret at the property (I had a lot of delays because of supply chain issues but she kept me notified.), Amy at the design center, had a birthday cake for me when I came in to make my selections!! Then when it was done the warranty dept stepped in Bryan & his team have been great to answer question or concerns and follow up.
The sales team to closing was proffessional. We are thrlled with our new home and the community. Windsong does take pride in their homes and communities and will work to make sure you are a satisfued home buyer.
Everyone made the process easy considering the delays.
I would recommend your firm to anyone looking for quality I design and construction management
Recognized Excellence - I would like to recognize Joyce Schell the sales rep, Amy the design center manager, and Bryan the finish builder, from Windsong Properties, for their exceptional service. They went above and beyond the requirements.
Good builder but quality of materials and some of the contractors is less than desirable
Builder Communication - The entire crew was friendly and easy to work with
We had a couple of minor glitches and one major unresolved issue:
1. We paid almost $10,000 extra for an HVAC system to help with my wife’s allergies. I am still convinced the ERV system was not installed correctly as the exhaust and intake outlets are adjacent to each other meaning that the stale interior air exhausted from the house is sucked right back in, defeating the whole process. Brian is working to resolve.
2. The complex thermostat was not programed to work with the internet or Alexa, nor were our smart phones programed to control the system.
3. See below about mill work.
The major issue is that we chose the lot in great part because it was shown on the recorded covenants to be a “courtyard lot.” This was important to us as it could provide for out-door entertaining, for a dog run and for landscaping of our choice. I kept asking about it and was first told that the developer had changed its mind. I explained that I had executed a contract, prepared by the developer, in reliance on the recorded covenants. The developer is legally bound by those covenants and by the contract.
I was then told the County had demanded the change. I asked who at the County so I could talk with them was told “oh that won’t be necessary.” Translation – the County had said nothing, that was just an “alternative fact.”
I was then told it was necessary to give the landscaper ample room to cut the grass. The entire area has since been covered in pine straw. I look forward to watch as they mow the pine straw.
I was then given a choice:
1. Accept a house in another subdivision and pay an extra $100,000, not good.
2. Choose another lot and start over even though we had by then sold our house and moved in to temporary housing. There was no guarantee that the price would not be increased, there were no courtyard lots available and we would have been delayed six or eight more months getting possession, not good.
3. File a lawsuit which I would absolutely have won, but two or three years later, not good.
4. Accept a $5,000 price reduction and quit complaining
I had no realistic choice but to accept the $5,000. The very next day I received an e-mail saying the closing had been extended 100 more days.
I prefer to deal with entities whose word is their bond. Instead, I got an entity the doesn’t even honor legally binding contracts. Needless to say, if I had known in June when I signed the contract what I know now, I would never have signed the contract. I would have found another development and another developer.
Joyce and the sales staff, John the builder and Brian the solver of problems have been great to deal with. Unfortunately, someone who is higher on the corporate organization chart and who remains unnamed, has no hesitancy to refuse to keep the corporate word and to refuse to abide by contracts.
Do you still really want to ask if I would recommend Windsong to anyone else.
Echols Farm had great people and we really liked our experience here. We are really enjoying our house and the fact that they correct things over a long period of time.
Recognized Excellence - Amanda had exceptional service. You know that she will check up on things. She has been a good help. We had one visit with Brian. If I had to hire someone, I would hire Amanda. Joyce also had exceptional service. We had a great sales experience with her. Our relationship continues. Her and Amanda are like family. Brian Stumpf had exceptional service.
Recognized Excellence - Joyce, Bryan’ Matt,,Amanda and many others have been awesome and make us so glad we bought at at Windsong and especially at Echols Farm.
I would recommend.
Additional Comments - Everything was good about our experience. We weren't here when everything was being built, but when we visited everything was good.
We brought another couple here and they put their money down in October. The foundation is there and trusses are there but they are not yet scheduled for a start. They are regretting their purchases, as it appears that the spec homes are being finished to sell ahead of those who put their money down. It isn’t fair, and at this time, we could not recommend someone buy with Windsong.
Recognized Excellence - Amanda and the warranty people have been very responsive and easy to work with.
Design Center Communication - She was very thorough and explained the choices that had been made on the home. WE were very pleased.
Recognized Excellence - Bryant has been our main contact and has been very cooperative. Jane and Sherry have also been very helpful.

Builder Communication - The orientation was thorough and very constructive.
Customer Experience - From beginning to end ALL of the individuals I came in contact with were professional, understanding and wanting me to feel secure and comfortable with them delivering the product I wanted.
Sales Expectations - The sales team constantly talked about the Windsong product and they delivered.
All good the finish manager Steve was excellent covered everything on the walkthrough and followed up with concerns, the warranty department was also great
Customer Experience - From Diane in the sales office, Amy In the design center and the construction and finish managers and the warranty department has made a very good experience
Additional Comments - Definitely would recommend Windsong properties to anyone
I was very pleased with the entire building process. Everyone extremely nice and helpful.
Top builder… home is beautiful
Recognized Excellence - Sherry Vining … always pleasant and helpful
The niche market Windsong is serving is spot on!
Recognized Excellence - It is hard to single one out. Diane is the main person we dealt with. She was always responsive and patient with all of our questions.
We have only been in our home a month. We would like to see how all our issues are addressed before commenting.
They are well made. They walk you through the process very well. They are very upfront with their procedures and how you pick out the faucets, appliances and floors. They are very accurate and very good.
Recognized Excellence - Steven in Warranty is one of the best pieces of our Windsong experience. His follow up is incredible and he treats the homeowner as if they were the only one he is working with.
Builder Communication - Our finish builder, Steve was incredible! Very thorough and detail oriented. We felt as if he had our best interests covered.
Design Center Communication - Amy is a true gift. Extremely detail oriented and helpful in selecting items that compliment each other. Even when some things weren’t available and we had to reselect, she ensure the new items were available and they would coordinate perfectly with our existing selections.
Recognized Excellence - Steve, our finish builder, was incredible. He was thorough and detail oriented. He knew our expectations were high and went out of his way to make sure everything was correct.
Too early in the subdivision's development to appreciate what may be available later. Due to degraded pinestraw, the neighborhood does not look like one with $400,000 - $500,000 homes.
Design Center Communication - Amy was knowledgeable and professional, providing guidance on product decisions. She reached out as our backsplash was being installed, to ensure our expectations were met.
Sales Communication - Diane was always professional and responsive. She provided relevant information expediently.
Recognized Excellence - In addition to Diane and Amy, Amanda with the warranty department has been very responsive with any concerns. Steve has been informative and responsive. John guided us through the mechanical walk through with beneficial suggestions.
Recognized Excellence - Amanda in the Warrenty department. She is always friendly and efficient and responds in a timely manner. She gets things done! Joyce in sales did an excellent job shepherding me through buying process.
