Window installation went smoothly. Our crew was very professional. We are loving our new windows!
Started on the right day without rescheduling and showed up during the given starting time window. Was finished well before they said. Thoroughly cleaned up after installation. Was very friendly and efficient. I would use them again anytime, and the windows are really great.
They were nice, friendly and honest. Showed up early. But I took a star off because they gave me a flat tire. When emailed about it they didn't respond about how they would fix it. I was late for work and stuck out in the cold rain waiting for my boyfriend to rescue me. They should pay for my tire.
Unprofessional, rude, not experts in their field. Aaron asked us to take the window out (our carpenter was making the opening larger for us) and promised the team would come out the next day. They didn’t come out until the following week, and I had to cry on the phone to get him to agree to that because he said it was going to be 2 more weeks. This is completely unacceptable to do to someone in the winter. The temperature was in the 20’s, my husband was traveling, and I was home with 2 babies. They left us hanging in the worst possible way and had zero sympathy. They have no business being a window company. I strongly discourage anyone to work with them. The clean up crew did not take the window we had our carpenter removed even though we asked (the guy in charge said “I’m not taking that big pile of junk”), even though we didn’t receive a discount for paying for someone else to remove it instead of them. They also left bits of the window that they themselves removed on our property as well. The quality of the window that the salesman pitched to us was false advertisement... it’s just a normal window. We are having the other windows done by another company and theirs are much better and cheaper.
End result was decent. One window has a slight imperfection in it which is frustrating. I had to stay on them the whole process as once I prepaid I did not hear anything for 6 weeks. I finally called them. They had a message saying they were moving and to call back. I call again. Leave a message and get no return call for 24 hours. I call again and force them to stay on hold until the find someone for me. That person confirms my windows are in and books a day and time for them to come out and install. I stress that it cannot be before 3 on that day. They guy calls me on that day around 10 saying he will be there in 45 minutes. I told him as I had confirmed with the scheduling department that I could not be there before 3. He argued that is paperwork said he could come early. I asked that he call me back to confirm what was happening as he said he needed to talk to management. I never received a call back. I call the St. Louis office and they say they have to call me back. They finally do and decide they have to reschedule me. They do so, for about another week out. When they arrive, they are polite and do a good job. I have no complaints about the end result except one window has a slight imperfection that I would expect not to see right after install. But I am a little more observant of those things and understand most would not care or notice it like I did. My conclusion is you will likely feel good about the end result but the process and the logistics regarding getting this done will likely fall on you. Do not expect them to put in the extra effort of communication as their sale department promises. I would consider using them for additional windows in the future but I honestly don't know if I can deal with all the BS to get to the end result. I give 2 stars because the end result was good but the process was horrific.
Sales Person Kirk tells me that a Saturday install was no problem. Takes my deposit with a smile! Guess what I get told that they do not do Saturday installs. I tell them looks like we have a problem!!! Bought the windows at the end of July, finally got them installed on Oct. 5th That's right OCTOBER 5th & that's a Saturday! No One gives you a direct phone line or cell number! You have to call their office which isn't local their goofball staff sends you to a voice mail you leave a message NEVER get a reply. You call back the same day 2 mins after your first call & their goofball staff transfers you to another person that phone just rings & rings with no answer... Only after leaving a long, mean fucked up message telling them that I want and will get my deposit back do I get a call back. That return call was the next day after I leave the nice message it was Wednesday Oct. 2nd by Matt. Matt had a no nonsense attitude very direct non forgiving. I guess it wasn't his fault I've been waiting to get my windows installed. I had a couple other windows needing new flashing around them asked if they could do that for me. He says they charge $60 a window to do that but cuts me a break and only charges $40 a window...He tells me that a crew will be by this Saturday to install my windows. The Install crew was awesome - Customer Service sucked !!!
very pleased with my windows.
Windows are great. The installer I had did not use very much insulation in spots around the windows which I'm sure will affect it this winter.
Great windows at an affordable price. On install day windows were installed quick and efficiently. Workers took extra care to not damage window trim even though I told them they were going to be painted afterward. The window’s are good quality and open and close so easily! My home looks better and runs more efficiently.
They communicated well and delivered what was promised without any issues.
The crew arrived at the time expected. They were very professional, courteous and pleasant to have in my home.
Had a very good experience. Installation was smooth and providers were friendly. The new windows look great
I cannot recommend UWD to my friends due to their lack of communication and unresponsiveness during the entirety of the project. My original installation appointment did not happen because UWD no-called and no-showed on the day of my scheduled installation. Once that happened, it was impossible to get someone to call me back to figure out why it happened, how they were going to remedy the situation and when my windows would get installed. This process took over a month before my windows were finally installed. The installation crew who installed my windows were wonderful to work with, but if I had not been locked into a contract, there is no way I would've spent my hard earned money with this company.
Our window install team was very professional and did great work. They were very knowledgeable and friendly.I was initially concerned with the service of Universal Windows. We received numerous texts/emails and calls to confirm our initial "sales" appointment and then the sales representative cancelled 2 hours prior to appointment time (after we of course planned our schedules around said appointment) . We rescheduled the appointment and then the "sales rep" arrived 30 minutes late for that appointment and looked at her phone half the time. Then we were quoted a 6-8 week turn time for the windows and after 8 weeks we received no communication or follow up on where we were at with the status of the windows, so we called them and they said yes the windows were already there? But they never called us, was kind of strange we had to call them and all of the sudden they were ready to go? so all in all we were not overly impressed with the office side/customer service of things and were concerned that the the install team might be at the same level of quality, but they made up for it as they were extremely friendly and could tell they cared about the quality of their work and the job. Our windows look great and thats really all that matters i suppose.
The entire process has been a pleasant experience. After the sales representative came to our house, we canceled the appointments for the other companies. The installation was completed in one day and we are able to begin enjoying our new windows.
Universal Windows Direct has an exceptional product that was installed quickly, efficiently and in an excellent workmanlike manner. We are extremely satisfied with our entire experience with the company from the first visit to the final cleanup. And the windows thus far are performing wonderfully and look great!
Though the experience took a lot longer than anticipated, overall it was well organized and I was able to reach customer service quickly when needed.
The initial project estimate meeting was scheduled and the UWD representative showed up promptly to my house. The representative was very friendly, knowledgeable, and showed a lot of passion for the company and their products. I basically had no knowledge of the company and my initial impression was very positive because of the representative’s professionalism and personality. I was under the impression that it would be quick meeting (15 - 30 minutes) where I would be presented with options and estimates. As other people have pointed out, these meetings sometimes take 2 - 3 hours so prepare yourself. The representative thoroughly provided different options for the doors, windows, and siding that they sell. The sticker shock from the initial estimates overwhelmed me and I was ready to end the meeting. The representative then scratched off those numbers and showed me the friends and family discount. “Wow, that’s a lot less. How could I pass that up?” I told the rep that I needed some time to think about it and I was told that those discounts would only apply if I placed the order right then and pay in full up front. The red flags were smacking me in the face and I kept pushing them aside so I agreed to order just a sliding glass door with the intent of placing a larger order later if this first install goes well. I hadn’t shopped around so I didn’t realize at the time that UWD products are priced much higher than their competitors even when the discount is figured in. The rep left and I felt confident and comfortable about my purchase.Three weeks later the measurement guy shows up to speck out the door that will be replaced. There was no special equipment required. Just a guy and a tape measure. I’m not sure why the sales rep couldn’t have just done the same thing during the initial meeting three weeks earlier.Week #8 and I don’t hear back from anyone so I call UWD to get an update on my order. They didn’t offer a reason for the delay but said they would expedite the order so that it would be ready for installation within 2 - 3 weeks.Week #11 and not once have they tried to contact me with an update on my order. I’m starting to wonder if I was scammed so I take to BBB.org to verify that UWD is a real company. I find comfort in knowing that I’m not alone in my frustration of this company’s service. I reached out to UWD again and was informed that the door I had order was now finished so I scheduled the install for the first available day which was the following week.Week #12 and the installers show up according to what was scheduled. The installers were friendly and sociable. I think they did an amazing job and were finished in under two hours. Final thoughts: This has a been a valuable lesson for me and may likely help to save thousands of dollars when I go to replace all my windows. While I do appreciate the professionalism of the UWD staff, I’m concerned with their sales tactics and lack of communication. I also didn’t expect a single door to take 12 weeks to deliver.
Was a great product and professional install. I highly recommend Universal Windows Direct!
Would you like new windows and old faded trim.
They do good work and they are a good company.
Being an Ohio based company dealing with a climate similar to ours and expanding into the St.Louis, MO area, I believe they have built a quality window. The two installers showed up on Dec. 18th and did a thorough and efficient job of removing/replacing 8 windows in approximately 6 1/2 hrs. I had done my part to insure things went smooth for them, but they truly did a expeditious job. The comfort level in my home was immediately felt.
I really like the product.
