Initially, when the sale was made on 2/15/2020, I was more than willing to recommend Universal Windows to a friend. However, since signing the contract, I am extremely concerned that it would be unfair not disclose to family & friends the issues that have developed since June 15, the day "some" of the windows were installed in my home. The front storm door and 5 sliding windows were NOT installed until 8/28/2020 after I made a phone call to Kim Kinsella on 8/10/2020 inquiring about when the final installation would be done. She advised me that she'd send a note to production. She explained that they were still waiting on the storm door and she would personally follow-up with Mike, the production manager. On 8/10/2020, an email was sent advising that the final order would be installed on 8/28/2020. But.... Guess what, we STILL DO NOT HAVE 15 SCREENS FOR THE WINDOWS THAT WERE INSTALLED ON 6/15/2020!!!!!!! There has NOT been any communication to inform me when the screens for the windows will be installed and it is now September 11, 2020!! Six picture windows need to be cleaned as they have white streaks on them......
The craftsmanship of the windows is excellent, however our initial installation project has been less than ideal.
Can tell the difference in noise level and temperature immediately.
The salesperson was professional, however he explained to me how the noise level would decrease from the new windows. Not a big difference so that was a little upsetting . I will hope the cold air stays out 100%
Even though I had to call numerous times to find out when we would receive our windows, the final product was great.
From the salesman to the installation everything was performed on the best level of customer service anyone could receive.
It was a good experience for me. I already have recommended several friends to your company.
The process was easy and the results, so far, have been very good.
Our job was installed incorrectly 12 days ago and we are still waiting for a resolution.
Universal windows did a great job doing the work. Very friendly, fast efficient and made sure everything was done right.
It has been a long and unorganized process. There is no communication from the company when there is a problem but plenty when its time for the money to change hands, you get a live person.
I am not very satisfied with the trim/finish work on the inside or the caulking
Promised high quality windows-because the cost was above what 2 other window cos quoted but that's not what we recieved
Everyone that we had dealings with were friendly and professional.
Great job. Love my windows.
Our salesperson Kirk Braun was great. He thoroughly explained our options and patiently answered our questions. The windows look great!
The workers were amazing. However,The product came from the factory a tiny bit smaller than ordered. Window installation is not completed as yet.
We love our Universal Windows! They operate so smoothly and look wonderful! Very Professional company.
I am very happy with my new windows
Great company, great staff, and great windows!
Window installation went smoothly. Our crew was very professional. We are loving our new windows!
Started on the right day without rescheduling and showed up during the given starting time window. Was finished well before they said. Thoroughly cleaned up after installation. Was very friendly and efficient. I would use them again anytime, and the windows are really great.
They were nice, friendly and honest. Showed up early. But I took a star off because they gave me a flat tire. When emailed about it they didn't respond about how they would fix it. I was late for work and stuck out in the cold rain waiting for my boyfriend to rescue me. They should pay for my tire.
Unprofessional, rude, not experts in their field. Aaron asked us to take the window out (our carpenter was making the opening larger for us) and promised the team would come out the next day. They didn’t come out until the following week, and I had to cry on the phone to get him to agree to that because he said it was going to be 2 more weeks. This is completely unacceptable to do to someone in the winter. The temperature was in the 20’s, my husband was traveling, and I was home with 2 babies. They left us hanging in the worst possible way and had zero sympathy. They have no business being a window company. I strongly discourage anyone to work with them. The clean up crew did not take the window we had our carpenter removed even though we asked (the guy in charge said “I’m not taking that big pile of junk”), even though we didn’t receive a discount for paying for someone else to remove it instead of them. They also left bits of the window that they themselves removed on our property as well. The quality of the window that the salesman pitched to us was false advertisement... it’s just a normal window. We are having the other windows done by another company and theirs are much better and cheaper.
End result was decent. One window has a slight imperfection in it which is frustrating. I had to stay on them the whole process as once I prepaid I did not hear anything for 6 weeks. I finally called them. They had a message saying they were moving and to call back. I call again. Leave a message and get no return call for 24 hours. I call again and force them to stay on hold until the find someone for me. That person confirms my windows are in and books a day and time for them to come out and install. I stress that it cannot be before 3 on that day. They guy calls me on that day around 10 saying he will be there in 45 minutes. I told him as I had confirmed with the scheduling department that I could not be there before 3. He argued that is paperwork said he could come early. I asked that he call me back to confirm what was happening as he said he needed to talk to management. I never received a call back. I call the St. Louis office and they say they have to call me back. They finally do and decide they have to reschedule me. They do so, for about another week out. When they arrive, they are polite and do a good job. I have no complaints about the end result except one window has a slight imperfection that I would expect not to see right after install. But I am a little more observant of those things and understand most would not care or notice it like I did. My conclusion is you will likely feel good about the end result but the process and the logistics regarding getting this done will likely fall on you. Do not expect them to put in the extra effort of communication as their sale department promises. I would consider using them for additional windows in the future but I honestly don't know if I can deal with all the BS to get to the end result. I give 2 stars because the end result was good but the process was horrific.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Universal Windows Direct of St Louis as part of our survey process.
