My project was started on October 31, 2023 and as of May 13, 2024 it is still incomplete. UWD has made as many as 5 trips to my home to attempt completion and each time did not have the correct material or the correct quantity of material.
Two workers got the job done in a day. Nice windows
It took so long to get our windows. It took a year to get our project completed. There were issues from the beginning, like scratched screen doors, windows that were not caulked, windows that would not come out to clean.
Pretty easy to work with, minimal damage to the siding of the house
The windows that universal direct sold me are not energy star. Rated for my region of the country at the point of sale, the salesman said they were energy, rated. Unfortunately, the tag on the sticker on the windoh shows my region that it's not energy star. Rated.

UWD is a male-dominate-thinking company. From the day I negotiated a second contract (the first one being in 2014) UWD REFUSED to acknowledge that the MRS. was capable of being able to handle all communications, including but not limited to signing, financing, and scheduling. Using the excuse that, "Our system uses the information from the original (2014) contract is a lazy reason for not being able to create separate accounts/order tickets; even this survey is addressed to "Jim and Katie"...they just can't get it right. While I appreciate the LIFETIME, transferable warranty, it's not enough to raise my overall rating to 2 stars (mostly because of the maddening communications I've had).
This rating has ABSOLUTELY NO REFLECTION on the salesperson, Scott.
they installed a large bay window and after the job was completed, I noticed a crack on the wall above the window and causing a long crack on the ceiling. Now they want me to chase around and try to find a Contractor who could figure out and take care of this issue. Why should I chase around and try to find a Contractor to solve this problem When Universal Windows did this internal crack situation to my house. They installed this Bay Window, they should correct this problem. I paid over $14000 for this new bay windowand I demand satisfaction.
I've had 6 visits after install and still not happy with inner framing and caulke all over and on wood window trim
The salesman was upfront and honest. Gave us an accurate timeframe and made buying the windows simple.
Installed new trim but did not stain or finish. Large gaps in mitre joints. Did not clean up leaving caulk and wood filler on the floors. Sloppy caulking around windows. Screw caps missing. Sliding door hard to operate, installers claimed it was due to newness of the door. Transition to door simply laid on the floor and caulked. Just to name a few….
The process took too long. It has taken almost 10 months to replace 4 windows.
I was charged an extra 750.00 dollars for replacement of framing on my basement windows. The installers never replaced the wood framing. I have asked repeatedly for a refund and still have not received my refund. I am highly disappointed with your company and will probably go elsewhere for window replacement in the future. I love your product but not your support.
We ordered a new front door/storm door and one kitchen window in February of 2023 with an expected installation date in 12-16 weeks. It took 6 months to get our first installation date and the only time we were given updates during that period was when we initiated a call to check for an update on timing of delivery. After multiple scheduled dates for installation we are still waiting for our front door installation to be completed. They have come 3 separate times and have been missing pieces to complete the job each time. The first time they were missing the entire transom piece. Communication has been poor through this whole process and everything is another 6-8 weeks when there is a problem.
From the time we ordered the windows, the turn-around time was within 2 months for installation. The quality of the employees and Antonio were great. The installation was very quick. They were polite, nice, and respectful.
we were told our payments would be $89....yet we ended up paying$122 per month....lot like bait and switch just to get us to sign

I doubt I would give you a good review
1. It took more than a year from ordering time to the completion of the job.
2. The original installers were unprofessional, rushed me through explanations, left a messy site.
3. The "transom" windows were not delivered/installed as ordered to specifications.... It took several orders and installations for the correct windows.
4. Customer service was not prompt. In addition, there were issues in scheduling and a "no show" where I had to take off work
5. Many attempts at phone calls - left unanswered and calls not returned
6. Inconsistent communication with staff. There wasn't a project manager to consistently speak with.
7. Poor caulking; paint scratches and scrapes
8. Still issues with window sills and areas left with dirt smears and paint removed/damage
Had a few problems but they fixed them with no problems. Very friendly professional employees

From my salesman, Brandon, to the schedulers, to the installers, EVERYONE at Universal Windows Direct has been wonderful! Brandon explained the features and warranty very well. I NEVER sign on the first visit. I like to think things over but I was so impressed I did sign the right away. The windows came in before the expected date and instillation was scheduled to my timing. The installers were polite, clean, friendly and did a wonderful job. My biggest issues was the noise from my very busy street. The new windows have made a great difference. When I save more money, I definitely call Universal Windows Direct (and Brandon) for a quote on my Bay window. Thank you for the great job!
i t enjoyed my sales rep jamie and he helped me out very much. i understand there can be issues with the current state of home improvement projects. My sales rep was always available with questions and concerns. will recommend only if they get the same sales rep as i did.
Very timely and good overall communication, but disappointed in the details.

Our windows were left extremely dirty with dirty finger prints on the frames and glass both inside and outside. I spent 3 hours cleaning the windows upon installation and had to take the windows out to clean the outside glass. When I called to complain about this problem, a technician was sent to the house to clean them, upon arrival he immediately complained of waking up with back pain and wouldn't be able to reach any of the windows. After moving furniture and getting a ladder to help him, he didn't even attempt to fix the windows upstairs and just told us to use cleaning products to get it off. He stated he would leave said cleaning products but did not. The windows he did clean on the main level were hardly improved compared to their original dirty state.
I have not been satisfied from start to finish. Now we have a problem with the screen door to our new patio door. The technician came on 9/26. I was told I would get a call regarding another person coming out to look at the problem. It's been 3 weeks and no contact. You didn't waste any time when you wanted me to sign the contract but now there is no hurry to fix this problem.

We would definitely recommend UWD. From our wonderful salesman Mike to Jason who measured to the installers who showed up, on time, in the pouring rain! Our windows are beautiful and we couldn’t ask for a better experience!
The windows were great. They ordered the wrong doors that I have been waiting for 5 months
Our experience from start to finish has been less than stellar. Our original meeting we got a price and had to change it as the sales rep forgot to add on tempered glass. We had to call 6 weeks after the measurements to find out that they had an extra window and instead of calling us to rectify, they just let us wait until we called. Finally got the windows in Sept. One was misordered, the window removed from the original order was not the window it should have been so an incorrect window was placed in the bathroom. There were problems with workmanship, one window doesn't work correctly, another window the screen has a hole in it.
We like the windows but the service issues we had lasted almost 2 years.
Worst experience with a contractor EVER!
I have 2 people that were looking to have some windows installed. I did inform them of the problem I am having with the way the payment and financing was handled.
Good quality but it took a long time to get patio door. Something happened to original order and they sent out a manager to put in a new order.
From what we had these windows are an extreme blessing!
We never before ever, paid 90% for a project before the work was completed. We were very uncomfortable doing that with your company. At most we paid for half up front and the balance on completion.

The windows appear to be good. Anything would be better than 1950 single pane windows.
Last visit great. Before that, measurements wrong, late windows, terrible installation of correct window and poor treatment in general. Never again!
We've had our windows less that two years. One of the three developed a crack since the install.
