Was rushed to build my house pad and move cows off property. Was rushed to bring my first check since mine was a cash deal. Then was told construction would start a month later with nothing happening since construction was too busy. Then, was given an early start date and nothing happened that day...I have email proof of early start date. I reached out to everyone involved to be told we're sorry for the delay. House finally started a week later. I was rushed but there was no sense of urgency on your side once my check was deposited and you were earning the interest on my money.
They were very pleasant, organized, and informative.
It is a pretty good company. As the process goes, you start getting smaller, hidden pieces. Such as we need this or that in addition. Luckily, you do get to a point where it stops. Initially, there are just little knicks and knacks in there.
This has been an amazing experience. We worked with Sydney Palmi and she stayed in constant communication with us. She was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating.

There were several times when communication failed. A major one was with the well. We'd already had an agreement with a company to do the work and were on their wait list. Tilson, having already closed on the construction loan, refused to pay the company we wanted to work with so we had to go with the company they had an arrangement with. Had the new company started work on time we would have likely closed in July like expected instead of late September. I can't put that on the well company because Tilson failed to tell the new company that we were moving forward with them for almost three months, which set us back greatly. We had also made changes to the plans with the sales rep that were never done. Our back door, which is a four panel glass wall, was supposed to open all the way in one direction but this one that they installed only opens in the center. We were also told that we were not responsible for providing water to the construction site but had to pay over $2,500 for water and water tank rental. I've actually reached out to Tilson several times about this but never get a call back. Lastly, on the 5th day of living here the septic system backed up into the house. Tilson warranty department sent out an electrician and I watched as he wired the septic system to the house. It had no power running to it so how it passed inspection is beyond me.
My experience was good. I learned a lot about the building process; I will have more questions to ask next time.

If I knew of someone who was looking to build a house I would recommend Tilson.
They were great all the way through the process, from beginning to end.
The build itself got off to a rocky start, but they're in the process of correcting what they did wrong.
They are very easy to work with, and the process has been very easy, and that is why I have recommended them.

Chuck Johnson, our building supervisor, was very organized and always kept us updated throughout the building process. The building process ran very smoothly and quickly under Mr. Johnson’s supervision.
Staff in office is great. The construction contractor Zach is awesome
There were some things that could have been done better. The living room is massive and to plug anything in requires going to the wall outlet. A common feature with such a space would be in floor outlets. It ruins the look of the living room to have extension cords stretched out over the floor not to mention the trip hazard they present.
Every step of this process was wonderful.
Additional Comments - From the first time we walked into the Waco office we were never pressured, we were never treated with anything but respect. Mariah helped us and she answered every question with knowledge, she took time to show us around and explain how Tilson does business. She is a great asset and she has maintained that relationship with us for well over a year maybe 2 years. She has been with us every step of the way and I’m not sure we could have found anyone better to help us build our dream. She is more than our sales consultant to us as we consider her a friend.
Easy process. Sales team in Katy were patient and knowledgeable.
I would recommend them a friend because they were definitely a ten.
Friendly people, especially john Little, and all willing to help when one or the other was out of the office.

Cheyenne was wonderful to work with! She was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable. She offered helpful suggestions when we asked and showed us examples of builds that included a feature we were thinking about incorporating into our house plans. She was always kind and patient, keeping us informed every step of the way. We’ve just started working with Christian, our builder, and things are off to a great start. I have every reason to believe that my experience with him will be just as positive as it was with her.

Not satisfied with the multiple changes that we requested, then ultimately finding out certain changes were not done OR can not be done.
You build a very good home but there is several areas you could improve. #1 Some of the contractors don’t seem to care are respect the property. Especially the concrete and framers. They do good work but lack respect to hat they leave behind. #2 some of your sales process is misleading in what all is covered. I would be more than glad to elaborate more if someone would call me.
Planning our home and getting answers to our questions was great.
Communication - Eric has always quick to respond to messages or emails left. And he goes beyond by giving us a heads up when he will be out of the office. The process has been so transparent and really helped us to feel comfortable. Also, David did a great job going over all the details with us following the color appointment to make certain all our choices we documented.
Additional Comments - We have just started the construction phase. We have been very happy and comfortable with everything to this point. Eric has been great to work with.

Lauren and the engineers ruined our dream home we spent years planning! They moved our floor drain the in laundry room without our consent and didn’t make our closet the way we designed so my husband has no closet space. Also didn’t make our gun room a room so now it’s an awkward small space we can’t do anything with and nothing can fix these mistakes!
People there are extremely helpful with any questions you have!
Michael is a good draftsman and knows the product well. The offering from Tilson is great with easy customization.
The overall communication from Tilson is and continues to be an issue which is what pulls the score here down.

The whole experience from sales to building was great.
We are very pleased with the quality of our home and the Supt (Call) we are working with.
There are a few areas that could use improvement—for example, standardizing features like a rolling trash bin in the kitchen cabinets. Tilson appears to be lagging behind on some of these simple, basic details.

Our journey is not complete yet so this recommendation is for the services provided to this point. The reason it’s not a ten is for the sequence of the design. In our case the site was a bit challenging so finding a floor plan to fit was difficult. I believe that the site visit should have been before signing for the floor plan. With recommendations from that visit the floor plan could fit the property more efficiently.
