Demonstrated how to operate double hung windows & cautioned me to allow time for caulking to dry thoroughly. I’ve had a lot of work done on this old house over the past few years, so their professionalism is much appreciated.

Everyone from start to finish was helpful in answering concerns and questions. Yes, I would recommend getting this done for safety reasons in the bath area.

Installers DID NOT pull the wires through for my security system as stated in the contract. We were unable to arm our system for almost two weeks until I was able to get our security system technician to come out and disconnect those windows from our system.

We appreciated the calls to keep us informed of the status of the project. The lack of a project manager from MaxHome making an onsite visit during and after completion of installation was lacking. If not for this, this response would have been a 10.

Have already told my experience with family and friends.

They did a great job converting our bathtub to a shower. They demolished everything and cleaned up. All the plumbing was redone and the shower was completed from floor to ceiling. Very professional and friendly guys.

As of now, my remodel project is still incomplete because there’s a hole in my bedroom wall that has not been covered yet. From the beginning, I was extremely impressed with the salesman’s (David Harold) ability to get right down to business and waste absolutely no time. I was also in the middle of a kitchen remodel (still am), and this guy did more in 2 hours than I accomplished in 2 months with the kitchen remodel team. I’m not joking. In one appointment, he got the measurements, the style, design, 3-D model, etc. all in a single 2-hour appointment. Absolutely spectacular. That was way faster than the bull**** I went through with the kitchen remodel team (and am still going through their bull****). There was a 2nd appointment for additional measurements, which I didn’t quite understand, but he was in and out in like 10-15 minutes. I signed some paperwork, if I remember right. Then my appointment was pushed forward almost a month due to a cancellation, so that was great.

The remodel project was (still ongoing) a bumpy road. On day 1, the installer did about an hour of work, ran into an issue with one of the valves continuing to run despite shutting off the water, had his boss come in and check it out, said I had to call a plumber about the issue, packed up and then left for the day. I had running water going into the tub for the whole day while I made an appointment for a plumber to check what the issue was. Some of it got on my rug and caused water damage.

Next day, the plumber comes out. He’s in and out in less than 5 minutes. No joke. He said the main shutoff valve wasn’t turned fully 90 degrees. That’s why water continued to run. I then was charged $138.02 for the plumber to turn a valve 90 degrees. I said that’s ridiculous and I expect MaxHome to pay that bill because I am absolutely under no circumstances paying $138 to a plumber to turn a valve 90 degrees and be in and out my house in less than 5 minutes. Right now I’m working on getting an e-card for that. I think it’s the operation manager who said that could be a possibility, but I’m not sure if he’s the ops manager.

Later that same day, a new installer comes in to continue the project. He doesn’t come in with the tools needed to continue the project, so he’s gotta wait till the ops manager comes in and continues the project. By the end of the day, I still don’t have a completed shower stall. I was a bit disappointed that David Harold told me in a very confident way that this would be done and over with in 2 days, and after 2 days it still was incomplete. I only took 2 days off of work for this project, so I think it would be better in the future to advise that *ideally* this is a 2-day project, however certain obstacles can come up that an extend the project an extra day or two. Had I known that, my expectations would have been more reasonable, but David told me at the start it would take all of 2 days, so that’s all I planned for.

After 4 days (Thursday), my shower area was finally complete. However, there is still a hole in my bedroom wall that I was told there is a service ticket out to fix. I have no timeline of when it will be fixed other than “they’re aware of it and they’re on it.” I also had a complaint about my rug sustaining some damage. It looks like parts of the tub or wall smeared into the rug, and it’s basically impossible to remove, so now I have smudges on my rug I can’t get rid of.

Altogether, I have mixed feelings about this. The shower area is absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful 10/10. However, I did notice some damage to things like my rug, and the project timeline was not up to expectations. I think it would be better to advise obstacles can occur that can elongate a project, rather than making such surefire guarantees of a 2-day project. My expectations were higher than they should have been.

I would happily recommend the shower to anyone who wants to remodel their bath.

John did an outstanding job pulling out the old tub and installing the new shower. John is very professional and did an outstanding job installing it. When he left, there was no mess left behind. When I get another one done, I would like John to do it.

I had a walk-in shower installed on Nov 10, 2025 by John Starr and I couldn't possibly be happier! This man is like the Paul Bunyan of installations....nothing he cannot do. He tore out my tub and all the ancient tile surrounding it, gutting it down to the studs. He also paused his work to give my husband time to spray the open area with termite and bug killer. John is meticulous with little details, which is so important in any job. He arrived on time, cleaned up the work area as he went along, and it took only one day for him to create the most amazing transformation in this 50yr old bathroom! A world of thanks to you, John!

I need to mention here that this is the second bathroom I had done by MaxHome and John. The walk-in tub he installed looks terrific, even 6 yrs later, and made my husband super happy...me, too, but is mainly his bath. John's expertise is the reason I chose MaxHome to do my new shower.... as long as I could have John do it. He's very much in demand so my job was 6 weeks out. Indeed, he's so good that I had a chance to get it done 5 weeks ago but when I heard it wasn't with John, I said Nope, I'll will wait for him. And he's about the nicest fella you'll ever meet!
