Communication is important to me, especially since I was going to be out of the country for the entirety of the project. Kim and Scott each responded immediately to any questions I had. Kim supplied weekly updates and photos on the progress and answered my questions along the way. It was fun to work with them!

Prima was worth the investment. With a 113-year-old house, our project was complex, and we were impressed by how organized and well-executed it was. It's also a joy to be able to trust your contractor, which is how we feel about Prima. And our new bathroom is even better than we expected.

We had the most amazing experience with Kim and Prima Construction. We had been planning a kitchen remodel since we bought our home, and the wait was worth it. We remodeled our basement in 2020 and had a good experience with that company, but we were not happy with the Covid protocols (or lack thereof) of the other company or their long-term responsiveness.

Prima was incredibly respectful of our home and fantastic about communication. The planning process was impeccable, and I felt like we were listened to and the design completely reflects what we wanted and what was most practical for our space.

During the project Kim sent weekly updates about what was accomplished and what was planned for the next week. The project stayed on schedule in spite of a couple Covid brushes and a lot of snow!

I also love supporting a woman-owned business, but if that's not your thing, pick Prima because of the quality of the work and the stellar communication and project management.

We opened up a load-bearing wall and added the custom bench, and everything else basically stayed in the same place (except added a pantry) but was completely replaced and updated. We also had soffits removed. We couldn't love our new kitchen more!

By definition, living in a home that's undergoing construction is a hassle. Prima Construction minimized the hassle of remodeling our two bathrooms as much as possible. Prima's project management, communication and quality of work was top-notch.

I am finding it difficult to express just how amazing our experience with Prima has been. When going into a remodel, one has an ideal expectation and then a more realistic level, but Prima exceeded even our ideal expectations at every step of the way. Kim (and Scott) have created a brilliant team of skilled professionals, who were, quite frankly, a joy. Kim’s weekly email updates (summary of previous week, upcoming work, and “homework” required on our part) kept us well-informed, but she was always available for any questions. Everyone involved really listened to us, and then executed the work beautifully. We really could not be happier with our experience and our new bathroom.

Kim and her crew were great. They did a bathroom remodeling for us that they originally scheduled for 6-8 weeks long, barring anything unexpected. We have an old house, and they did find some unexpected plumbing problems behind the walls and floor. One of their work crew also tested positive for COVID right after starting his part of the project. Despite these unexpected things, and inspectors' erratic schedules, they stayed pretty much on schedule. Towards the end, two of our family members contracted COVID, and Kim worked super hard to finish so that we could have use of the bathroom during our quarantining efforts. It was a crazy process, but Kim and her crew were outstanding, and they finished only a week or so beyond the original 6-8 week schedule, despite all the obstacles. We can't recommend Prima Construction highly enough.

From beginning to end, the level of service was phenomenal. They did design and build. We were first timers. Kim and Scott walked us through the whole process very patiently. The construction team was great, reliable, and showed up every single day. The level of status updates and consistency of communication was phenomenal. The final quality of the work was fantastic. We were consulted exactly at the right time throughout the whole process for decisions that needed to be made. Kim was great at guiding us through and making sure those discussions were at the right time. She gave us guidance throughout the whole process. You hear about horror stories about construction work. That was absolutely not our case! Beginning to end was amazing. Even at the beginning, they stated it would take 4 months, and it was 4 months to the day!

Prima transformed our 1927 “original” kitchen from antiquated to contemporary. Fresh and bright, it has the right look to still give a nod to the Roaring 20s. Now in its new layout, the space has been fully maximized, fully modernized and now is fully ours to enjoy for the days to come. Kim and her team made every effort to make the inconveniences of being without a kitchen as painless as possible. And an added bonus… the work was completed ahead of schedule.

Schedule - We were in the last stretch of the remodel and Covid-19 hit along with the shut down and Prima was not allowed to be in the home - they still went above and beyond to make our house livable until they could get in to finish it and they finished it very quickly after being allowed to come back in.

Kim and the rest of her crew were awesome. They completed a gut-to-studs bathroom for us, and it looks fantastic We’ve been recommending them to friends and plan to use them for our kitchen.

We enjoyed working with Prima Construction on the remodel of our master bathroom, and we love the finished results! The entire team was professional and respectful given that they were in our occupied bedroom area on a daily basis during the project. They were easy to work with and accommodating on scheduling. We are happy with our bathroom remodel done by Prima. Kim met our needs and wishes in terms of what sort of work we wanted done and kept within our budget the entire time. She addressed and resolved the few problems that arose quickly and satisfactorily. She sourced most of the materials (sink, countertop, tiles), which helped the project stay within budget. The cost of the project was very competitive and we felt we received a good value for the price. For someone on a tight budget, Prima is a great choice. One person in the Prima work crew was a bit lacking in experience, the only reason for the '4' versus '5' rating.

Prima Construction was amazing! They not only completed our project on budget and early, but made improvements along the way as they saw opportunities for changes. I feel like our project was better off because of them.

I spoke with 5 contractors and selected Prima as a local women-owned business, familiar with old homes with a strong team, and helpful in recommending priorities around a limited budget, which made their estimate the lowest cost as well which was a strong consideration for me. Kim had great positive energy and was open to both offer creative ideas and work with specific requests in approaching the project. She helped cut unnecessary costs, reuse materials to maintain authenticity and prevent waste, and helped plan future phases of work for ideas that were outside of our immediate budget. I felt very taken care of as she worked with suppliers, scheduled friendly team members onsite daily, inspectors, and communicated regularly with me to give updates and navigate decisions along the way. Finished our beautiful kitchen-mudroom on time and on budget, including responding to multiple changes and work orders. I recommend without reservation and am already looking forward to another project with Prima!

Areas Of Satisfaction - Cost was a source of anxiety for me going into a remodel, but Prima was consistently reassuring in cutting unnecessary work like fully updating electrical, working with existing studs and resources rather than replacing everything, and thoughtfully scoping the work to the core of the kitchen I needed and not insisting on a perfectly detailed entire first floor. Kim and Scott were great at listening and responding to our vision and providing their professional insight rather than imposing whatever trends or pet projects and taking over the project. I am particularly grateful for a few random ideas that they were very open and thoughtful to incorporate during the project.

Additional Comments - Supporting women-owned contractors is important to me not only to influence a male dominated sector, but as a woman I strongly prefer working with other women who are collaborative and leave their ego at the door. Kim was more effective even compared to other women contractors and by far every male contractor I spoke with who took over conversations, even just in a site visit to provide an estimate, she acknowledged me and never spoke down to or over me, and it reflects in the way she manages her team who were all kind and respectful as well. I had friends who worked with other contractors that I had also received estimates from who bulldozed through our conversation and bulldozed through their entire project, I'm grateful I went with Prima!

We were very satisfied with the work done by Prima Construction. They showed up everyday and got our project done fast! We love our new kitchen and half bath.

We engaged Prima for a bathroom remodel within the existing square footage, removing a bathtub and installing a walk-in shower. All fixtures were replaced. There were bumps along the way including a leak during the liner test which leaked through the kitchen ceiling and some cracked tiles post installation - both of which Prima addressed and fixed promptly. The subs were courteous and did their work well. Kim was on the job site frequently ensuring work was completed in a timely manner and keeping us up to date with our project. Some of the aspects of our project including glass tile and a larger format glass door were not within Prima's standard "wheelhouse" but they were able to complete the project as we had envisioned. Communication was good and questions were answered quickly when asked. We would recommend Prima for straightforward kitchen and bath projects.

We are extremely happy with the results of our home remodel and the work that Prima Construction did in our home. From the start Scott did an assessment of the kitchen, living room and bathroom dimensions. He then created a panorama link on our phones so we could stand anywhere in the current rooms to see what the final project would look like but turning .360 degrees. Prima Construction creates a full schedule so you know what to expect. They also link the contractors and the homeowner to an App which allows them to communicate at anytime and to receive updated pictures when the homeowner is not home. Kim and Scott were a pleasure to work with every day! I highly recommend Kim and Scott at Prima Construction.
