We had a 12 year old undersized solar array that we were unable to add to and had developed a leak in the roof under it. Niel Kelly was able to remove the old array, fix the roof, and put in a new larger and more efficient solar system in about three days. They were also able to decommission the old array in such a way we could put the old panels in storage so they could be used again by other family members. Their designers and installers were great to work with in that they were quite responsive to all our questions and ideas. All in all, quite happy with the end result. By the way, the final product generated as much in 10 days as our old system did in an entire month for the same month last year.

They have a good warranty and are an established company in the community that doesn't seem to be going anywhere tomorrow. However, the communications between their staff and with us are lacking or difficult. Today, for example, it has taken multiple attempts to schedule a close-out meeting with their staff.
Today, an hour and a half before that meeting, they called to say they wouldn't be able to make it, and it would have to be rescheduled. There have been a lot of things like that. It has just been hard to get timely and accurate communication from them and between them.

We were completely delighted with our experience with the Neil Kelly Solar Team. They were very professional, smart, reliable and all around lovely people.

5 stars for the actual work! But there were communication issues and NK damaged our neighbor's house without telling us. NK hasn't repaired their house yet even though it's been more than 2 months since it happened.

Knowing that Tom Kelly had his company put panels on his own floating home helped us decide who to choose. We figured that the team had to do the best for the boss, so that was good enough for us! We know the team can do good work!

I have done a number of remodeling projects on my home, and none of the other (many!) contractors I have worked with have come close to Neil Kelly's level of service and quality. Neil Kelly-Portland is just a top notch firm that is oriented toward the consumer all thru the process of our home solar installation.

Compared to past experiences, this job did not go smoothly. There was a misunderstanding about our solar system that took weeks to resolve and scheduling the work also took much longer than expected.

The whole team was friendly, professional & great at communicating about each phase of our solar battery installation. They consulted with me whenever there was a decision to be made about placement, design & location of equipment.

Neil Kelly is the most well-organized company I've worked with in this modern era. I'm 71, and in recent decades had given up hope that a competent company like Neil Kelly -- once the norm in this country -- even existed anymore. I am so delighted to know that Neil Kelly exists and that I could once again enjoy the experience of working with such a stellar company.

I've always been aware of Neil Kelly's excellent reputation. When Energy Trust designated them and two other companies for me to get bids from, it was clear during the bidding process that Neil Kelly was a great company and the other two were like most modern companies in their lack of follow-through, poor communication, disinterest in my questions and getting their answers right, and so on. Much to my surprise, their bids came in higher than Neil Kelly's. I had always thought that Neil Kelly, having such a good reputation for excellence, would cost more.

Employees are all exceptional. Every employee who worked on this project was absolutely fabulous in terms of knowledge, skills, communication, and especially their interpersonal skills. I am so impressed with Neil Kelly's ability to hire such impressive people. They were all a pleasure to work with.

I do mention that they were more expensive than our other bids, but the quality of product was much better rated. Also feel that NK is much more likely to be around through the years than other, younger companies.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that NK might be a bit more expensive for my friends.

While we did run into some issues during our solar project, I have no doubt that Neil Kelly handled the issues with better efficiency and understanding compared to other solar companies.

Received an email that was accidentally sent to me that used offensive language to refer to me as a customer—not language that targeted me individually, but language that suggests they see customers as pawns to be manipulated.

Working with Neil Kelly was the worst experience I have ever had with a company.
