The renovation took from April through November.
They had great communication. The craftsman did wonderful work.
Oaks was very easy to work with from a design stand point. There were some unexpected changes during our cabinet install which I wish we had known about. There were some delays with the finishing work as well due to an inadequate amount of material being ordered.
Quality of work.
The beginning of my experience was very nice. The staff in the showroom were all attentive, creative and knowledable about design. The problem was the inability of the staff to accurately measure and plan so that things like my tub and cabinets would fit into the spaces. Inaccurately measuring caused a domino effect of problem, delays and expenses. There is no excuse for a professional not being able to measure the distance between two walls,
The quality of workmanship from Eli was exemplary. And Skill Glass is amazing. We felt that everyone involved with our project was deeply invested in the outcome.
Am well satisfied with the results but there was a complete lack of communication on the part of the project manager Nice man but very little communication people would show up and never know they were coming Project days were set and no one would show I would wait all day Would call to see if they were coming No call back kitchen torn apart 3 weeks when it could have done max 7-10 days very disappointing Customer satisfaction is a must for a reliable company
We did a complete kitchen renovation and we are very very pleased with the results,
The entire group (20 people) were all professional and personable! They were great!
Very professional staff. Quality of products exceptional. Extremely punctual with the time line of delivery. Highly recommend!
Consummate professionals five star service
Overall, KBO is nice--but please see the comments below....
I liked that Oaks is like a “one stop shop.” As they offer everything we needed for our remodel. I wanted a place that would mange everything that needed to be done. However it seemed that my husband or I had to constantly reach out and make sure things were completed. In the beginning, we were constantly having to reach out to the designer about next steps and there would be days where emails weren’t answered (not counting weekends). Our project manager was responsive, but we had to remind him of what needed to be done. The quality of workers were hit or miss. Some came in and did wonderful work and were very professional. Many workers did not cleanup after their work. Yes a mess is expected during construction, but simple things like cleaning up the sawdust left behind or after the cupboards were installed they should have been wiped down. I had to clean all the floors, vacuum out cupboards, wipe down cupboards from dust, etc. Our project started off well with things getting done quickly and workers around. We then had some delays (expected), but then it was like we were forgotten. The project was on finishing steps but it was impossible to get workers here. Someone would show up for a few hours or a day once a week, but this continued for awhile instead of just getting the job completed.
Very easy to work with. Quality workmanship.
The design was good with Bonnie, the initial site visit was good with Sean. The rest of the project was not to be desired. Derek was not a good communicator, made last minute appointments like day of, was late to all appointments except the last, didn't seem to know what was going on with the project at all. Had to use my tools to install appliances, as the person who was assigned to install left early, taking plumbing that was left incase it was needed, which had to requested to return to me. It took 7 hours to install 3 appliances and a sink, one of which just had to be plugged in. The project went way longer then it needed to be as nothing was prescheduled and it took a week to 10 days to get communication as to what was happening next. Damaged shelving took 2x to order and was still not correct having to make shift one. Requested monetary compensation for damaged walls as kitchens did not do the drywall but was just passed off. The overall product turned out fine, the organization could be better
All in all the process was good with the exception of not being notified of people coming or not. Did not get response back as timely as we hoped We had a couple of issues that should have been corrected before installer even left.
Our project was small—we wanted to update our 1950’s bathroom. The room is very small, so we were limited on our options. The transformation is incredible. Everyone we encountered from the beginning of our project to the end were highly professional.
Kris knows our story, should be no surprises here. Quality of work (inferior crew selected for our project), lack of communication, lack of professionalism, zero care about making the customer feel good about what they chose to spend significant money on. Friends/family know my journey with your company, I don't need to recommend of not recommend at this point. They were on our journey with us, they can decide on their own.
Four stars is great. Five stars is perfect. Oaks was not perfect.
We have recommended Kitchens by Oaks to others. We are very, very pleased with the completed kitchen update. All was done very professionally. Our project team (Julia, Shawn, Brian, Rocco, James, Nick Lloyd, Cory, Joe and Paco) was professional, courteous, punctual, informative, friendly and worked well together.
Everyone we came in contact with at the company was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The installers did a great job working on our bathroom and making the walk-in shower. They explained the project as they completed the work. They were friendly and professional. Their work was fantastic.
Overall great experience from the early design phase through project implementation.
Oaks quoted me a great price for the job, compared to other companies.
Workers failed to show up day after day delaying completion of the job by 3 months
Excellent work! Great service, communication and I love the work they did.
The subcontractors Kitchens by Oaks used for our job were excellent. Very talented, efficient, cleaned up every day of the job, communicated with us on their schedule for each day. Very pleased!
There was undue stress and aggravation the was caused by lack of communication from people from Oaks that weren't involved in the actual construction of the remodel.
The saving grace was Matt Duemmell and his team. They were true professionals!
More lower cost options
The attention to detail from design to completion was excellent. The work crews were amazing and left the work area picked up every day.
Communication, Knowledge, Craftsmanship
Cost breakdown was not clearly defined.
Everyone was very professional and extremely respectful.
I have already referred Kitchens by Oaks to friends.
The project was expected to take 6 weeks, it took 15 weeks. At week 11 I when the project manager stopped by to present the second invoice, I asked what work would be completed that week, and he said I was not on the schedule.
Although I asked many times that plaster dust be limited as much as possible, only one door to the kitchen was draped in plastic. Plaster dust went throughout the house. I was told that the house would be cleaned for me - it was not. I paid a cleaner to do that.
One of the shelves in a cupboard had a huge chip. I understand this could have been damaged in shipping, but it should not have been used. It was placed as the top shelf where it would not be found. I happened to find it while cleaning plaster dust.
I also feel my project manager was disrespectful and did not listen when I brought up concerns. If anything, he made it seem as if my concerns were my fault.
These are just a few of the reasons I would not recommend Oaks.
My new kitchen is absolutely stunning.
There were elements that I could strongly recommend, but some details were 'watch outs'.
Never, never never.
Contractor did a very poor, uneven and unacceptable job installing countertops and backs
Awesome Results as with prior projects!!!
Professional
Neat
On time
There were numerous ordering errors that delayed our project significantly.
The people, the workmanship- everything was wonderful!
My project began September 14, 2024 and completed April, 2025. Subcontractors were either top-notch or horrendous. Things in the plan that were paid for in advance were found to be incompatible with our cabinetry. So I paid too soon and too much.
One - I don’t like your rating scale. 3 stars is neutral, 4 is good but room for improvement, and 5 is outstanding. So on that basis, it was good but little things should be addressed automatically sometimes. For a full gut renovation of over $135k, feel free to toss in some HVAC cover replacements.
On site supervisor kept work on track, answered questions
Everyone I worked with during my kitchen renovation was professional and accommodating. At every step, from design to the surprises uncovered in my older home, options were laid out clearly so decisions could be made that I was comfortable with. The designer and project manager worked with me to balance my budgetary and aesthetic preferences. My kitchen is beautiful and functional.
Everyone with whom I dealt was knowledgeable, polite, friendly and respectful.
The quality of the materials was good and I was very happy with the workmanship of the contractor, Skye, and his assistant, Corey. I was very disappointed in the communication between the designer, Jacklyn, and the workers. There were several things that were not communicated or miscommunicated on this project. From day one, there were little things that seemed to be missed as we started designing our kitchen. Jacklyn was super nice but seemed distracted by her personal life and forgetful of details we discussed. I emailed her work email a couple of times and never received an email back or acknowledgment of receipt (which may mean they ended up in her Junk folder). Also, the office lost a $15,000 check, so I had to run around to get that replaced.
Kitchens by Oaks did a good job.
They were outstanding in every aspect.
