From the day we signed the contract we felt like we were dropped as a priority, and were forgotten about and ignored. Really terrible communication and customer service.
As installation is recent, I'm not able to fully recommend as I don't know what long term will be like.
I recently had the pleasure of installing a new roof by Interlock Metal Roofing Systems, and I am thrilled with the results. The process was seamless, efficient, and professional from the initial consultation to the final installation. The Interlock Metal Roofing Systems team did an excellent job of minimizing any disruption to my household during the project, and my property was left spotless upon completion.
One of the standout aspects of the installation process was the crew led by Oswaldo. His leadership, craftsmanship, and communication throughout the entire process were outstanding. In addition, he was always available to answer any questions and proactively informed me of the progress of the installation.
While the finished product looks impressive and has increased my property's curb appeal, the quality of the installation is second to none. I have no doubts that my new roof will live up to the lifetime warranty of this premium product. Overall, I highly recommend Interlock Metal Roofing Systems for anyone needing a new roof. The entire process was a pleasure, and the finished product is exceptional. Thank you to the Interlock team, and a special shoutout to Oswaldo for his outstanding leadership and craftsmanship.
They were very accommodating. My wife was pregnant at the time, and they were accommodating even though they had busy schedules. They squeezed us in when they could during the winter months. It was much appreciated. They have good customer service.
I am likely to recommend Interlock Roofing because the product looks beautiful, the installation team were very professional, diligent, and hardworking and left the site nice and clean.
Love the material, installers worked hard, company picked worst time weather wise to install.
My journey with Interlock Roofing began with an email, phone call and some visits with Damon Isbell who is exceptional. He was able to accomadate all my requests for information, as well as make shanges to the project when I wanted to make changes after the initial process.
The people I talked with on the phone or via email were pleasant & knowledgable, as was the installation crew led by Victor.
I would recommend these people to anyone looking for a lifetime roof.
Overall I didn’t have the greatest experience but that was primarily from the contracted installation crew and their lack of follow through with doing the roof right the first time. Otherwise I’m happy with the way the roof looks and the quality. And despite having to have part of it redone I appreciated the interlock rep going up in my attic and making the crew redo it correctly so I had a quality job. His honesty about the situation went a long way.
I’m happy with the end results. There were a few issues that I have stated below.
It looks beautiful and we get positive comments from people we know and strangers alike.
yes I would recommend, beside being expensive, if you can afford the cost, I would highly recommend.
They did a great job. They were very professional and cleaned up well after the project.
There were a number of factors to consider- quality of work very good - meeting time commitments not good - availability of staff a key item leaving us with four month between delivery of the shingles and completion - we would recommend the product. but would warn friends about the delay and some missed commitments
The roof was supposed to be finished by the end of November 2022 and the real date was the end of February 2023. Our neighbors and friends were shocked at the delay and time it took. We explained that we only had one man working and the weather did not co-operate. It was winter.
All the people involved are pleasant and great to work with from the initial call all they way to the end with the installers. Product arrived extremely earlier than expected and turned out to be great and everyone was efficient and cleaned up after themselves.
Very professional.
Our second installation of this product. Excellent product.
Ten stars actually! Mark and Tim showed up in the cold and snow (not so much they couldn't work), and they were efficient and conscientious and cheerful on our rather complicated job. We love our new roof! Thank you!
We met with the National Sales Manager for Interlock, and he told
us that if we were to have a roof installed by Interlock that:
a) A “Project manager” would be on site every day, for the entire day, to oversee our job
and make sure that the work was performed at a high level of care and quality.
the salesman assured us that the manager would not simply show up in the morning
and then leave for the day.
b) Interlock employees were all factory trained by Interlock, and only work for Interlock,
and that they would not be working multiple jobs when working on our job.
We hired Interlock solely based on the salesman's assurances that the quality of installation
was important and they had the best installers. Prior to his assurances about the installation,
we had been planning on hiring a different company, with a very similar product.
The first day they arrived for the installation the workers came in a truck with
another company logo, “Gutter Guys”. We called the office and told them our concern; we
were told that the roofers only worked for Interlock, and we did not expect to see the workers
show up in a different company van. We were told that they only worked for Interlock
regardless of the vehicle they showed up in. Furthermore the “Project manager"
was absent for most of the first three days of the job. He dropped off workers and supplies
early in the morning and would return to pick up the workers at the end of the day. There were
several occasions where we had concerns about the installation including safety and Mr. Rivera
was not here and not answering his phone for hours a day.
The Regional Manager came to our house to see the issues we were having. When
we mentioned that we wished we had hired the other company with a similar product, he
informed us that our project manager also works for that company, contradicting the notion that Interlock
employees only work for Interlock.
Another instance happened on the third day of installation. The workers showed up and
started loading their supplies into a van. When asked if they were leaving, they said “yes” and
informed my wife that they were working somewhere else that day. They said they did not
know when they would return. My wife called the office immediately; the office manager believed that
the project manager was working at our house and was surprised to find out that the workers had come
to pick up all their supplies and left. She did eventually track him down and two workers
showed up around noon.
As a result of the lack of oversight caused by the absence of a project manager, there were
numerous and multiple issues with the work. Some mistakes were only caught because we
noticed them and asked for them to be fixed, such as:
1. A PVC roof installed in multiple pieces small pieces, and heat-sealed in the rain
2. Ice and water shield installed with small, leftover scraps with tears in them
3. Aluminum gutter flashing that was ripped off of over half of the house and left that
way.
4. Holes left in the chimney that needed to be filled
5. excessive use of caulk to fill large holes and to “glue” wood siding in place
6. damage to mahogany deck, sliding door screen, window trim
7. damage to gutters
8. fewer snowguards installed than what was discussed/promised
Some mistakes still have not been satisfactorily fixed. These include:
1. Several shingles dented and scratched in the process of trying to fix all the other
issues
2. Damaged wood siding, and wood siding that was replaced but poorly installed and
badly painted.
3. A dented box vent.
4. Debris deposited in dry well because it was pushed into downspouts.
5. Severely dented flashing
6. Two skylights were not properly closed. The board that the plywood is nailed
to in the middle is not secured and only wedged between the drywall.
There were also safety concerns:
1. Items were constantly being thrown off the roof haphazardly all over with no concern
for anyone who might be below; in one case Items were thrown off the roof just as
our children were walking out the door.
2. No doorways were blocked off to let people know if debris would be thrown from
above.
3. A full sheet of plywood, carried up a ladder, was dropped, hitting our window.
4. A worker standing on A-frame ladder on the lower level of the sloped roof. This
occurred the day after the regional manager told us he would talk to our project manager about safety.
5. No portable restroom available, and workers asked to use our bathroom for the first
three days of installation, until we mentioned this issue to the office. No portable
restroom was ever made available.
the salesman claimed that the job would be overseen throughout the day, each day, by a
project manager, and that the job would be done by factory-trained workers exclusive to
Interlock. This assurance was the reason we hired Interlock over another company that sells a
similar product. His assurances turned out to be completely untrue. As a result of this misrepresentation, we ended up paying $34K for a roof that we are not happy with. I would strongly advise against hiring Interlock.
Looks beautiful and can’t wait to see how it fairs in the summer heat and large snowfalls.
They didn't deliver what they said they were going to deliver. We are in court litigation right now. They got to a point and I noticed they were putting dents everywhere. They had contractors doing it. I tried to stop them, and they said they would come back and repair the dented tiles. They got done and wanted their money and didn't come back and do what they said they would do. It's not the product they sold us. They had a good sales pitch, but we will not be able to walk on the roof again.
I have a few issues that I want corrected. The crew worked very long hours and tried to get it done as quickly as possible, including after dark. They couldn't see tile damage and gutter debris, due to a nail. I'd rather they worked during the day time.
Our experience with Interlock Roofing was an absolute Nightmare. Our roof leaked within 4-days and continues to leak they have since removed substantial roofing coverage and effectively left us abandoned. The install team were pigs. We had to constantly clean-up after them. They used our property as their personal toilet and left cigarette butts everywhere.
I would like to recommend Interlock, and I may. It really depends on the circumstances of that friend. First and foremost it's an expensive niche product that is not for everyone. Second, the execution of our contract was not very satisfactory. I'm reluctant to recommend something this pricey when the vendor did not perform to their contract.
I was extremely happy with the outcome. I like how my roof looks, and improved the curb appeal of my house.
