The HomeFix Custom Remodeling Richmond workers were great, polite and completed the clean up wonderfully with the metal detector that I did not find any nails. The job was well done and speedily done with my skylight installation. They did a good job that was well done and I was very pleased.
It was good quality work that was done efficiently. The people who did the work were courteous and the cleaned up very well. I found no debris anywhere!
HomeFix does not make it easy to contact them. I also don't know exactly what I was paying for. I asked for a receipt and they gave me a bill with labor and material listed rather than itemizing each thing. Everything was kind of in the gray. I would rather know exactly what I am paying for. I thought they would email it to me but they never did. After the salesperson left, I did not even know how to contact anyone.
Getting the finished product was difficult.
The group that we had was awesome.
They quoted a little high and we were able to talk them down on price by showing them competing offers. I don't think they gave a good offer at the beginning so there was a little mistrust. The work was good but I would advise anyone who works with them to try get the price down as low as possible.

I thought everyone was professional, easy to talk to, and they answered all my questions. The installation team came on time, they were here when they said they would be, and the quality of work was excellent. I had no problems at all.

Schedule - That's a tough one. We got rained out. That's one thing I'm not super happy about. We didn't have great communication for the actual installers. I anticipated that it would be postponed due to rain. The installers scheduled day got rained out, so I figured it'd be delayed until later, but after the installers showed up the next morning, I'm not sure it's a complaint. They actually did the job in poor weather. They stuck to the schedule, even though it got rained out.
Value - It's high quality materials. The workman did a good job.
Recognized Excellence - Everybody I worked with was very good.
Areas For Improvement - I can't think of anything that wasn't done that we agreed upon. I will say that at the end of it, we had a diverter on our roof that diverts rain water from spilling over onto our compressor outside. They hadn't put it back up, but when I told the work crew, they found the diverter and put it back up 20 minutes later. I don't think they planned to put it up, but we noticed that it wasn't on the roof, and in 20 minutes they put it up.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I think I had high expectations after talking to the representative, and I think they met expectations.
I do appreciate the workHomeFix Custom Remodeling did for me, but I like to deal with communication and I had bad communication with the first 2 guys. That is the only bad thing I can say. I really love the work you all do.

Recognized Excellence - The project leader and crew were outstanding. Very friendly and answered our questions including From our 5 year Old grandson. The sheet metal trim work was done meticulously.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The windows themselves have reduced our heating/cooling costs and provide much improved sound dampening. This was a major step in improving our home’s energy efficiency.
Next Project - Although we are done for this house, the package of services from HFCR and Solar Energy World is exactly what is needed to help combat climate change at the homeowner level. By doing most of these things, we have reduced our electricity bill by about two-thirds.
This is the third project with HCR and I came back because of past experiences. Unfortunately it was like a different company showed up this go around. I would be hesitant to refer.
The salesperson said my original door was straight, when it was not. When they came to replace my door they told me they could not do what the salesperson promised.
They did the job in a timely manner and the people that worked handled themselves in a professional manner. They kept the area clean.
The workers were wonderful. They were respectful. They were fine. It was the scheduling, and the communication that was very lacking.
