I thought the sales rep was honest and thorough. He was the only one of the bidders to inspect in the attic. He did oversell the effect the ridge vents would have on attic heat, and the appearance of the roof improving.
They were very good.
Clean up after roofing was completed. Roofers threw old shingles/backing and nails into gutters. Gutters were cleaned by team who had installed them, complaining about HGE roofers’ sloppiness. Roofers tossed materials off roof onto A/C unit. They left materials on the front lawn for over two weeks. Project manager for roof replacement never made contact with homeowner. Quality of roof replacement with quality materials was great, but operations surrounding installation left much to be desired.
Lied about how much it was going to cost I have tex where Richard was going to save me a couple $1,000 I don't know what a couple thousand dollars to you is but that's anywhere from 2 to $5,000 a couple thousand dollars to me so yes he lied to me the people that did my windows love them would give him a five I wouldn't give the people that did my roof I would not give credit for nothing I had to clean up after them my roof leaked one of the managers had to come back and fix it trash was in my vents to my bathroom from the roof slamming the sheets on the roof was not told to me I was told that it would the Staples would make noise not them slamming they broke a clock I had pictures that fell off the wall thank God I got my glass ones before they got broke my clock that my mother gave me was broke my mother's dead it cannot be replaced I'm very upset with them and I really don't care for the guy that got me to sign the contract because he bamboozled me he talked about my dog and the contract at the same time and my girlfriend was here and my girlfriend can tell you that 90% of the time he talked about my dog so no I wouldn't recommend even my neighbor that I do not care for I wouldn't recommend you to them nobody got back with me I was supposed to get a couple thousand dollars off lies lies lies and lies I tried to call the people that I got my loan from they told me I had to talk to you nobody wanted to talk to me I couldn't get nobody to call me back don't tell me you left me messages because guess what I have a voice I have answering machine and there was nothing from you on the answer machine
My contact was not read properly, not on one part of the job but both parts of the job. On the first part of the contract, the guy put it was a complete re-decking. It was not supposed to be it was supposed to be re-deck as needed but they had already ripped off half of my roof before I realized what they were doing. I sat there and watched him rip off the board throw them into the dumpster and they were good boards. They did not give me any kind of discount, well they said they had to put six extra sheets up there, but if they did not rip off half my roof, they would not have had to put the thirty up there. Then they came back to do the gutters, and they were supposed to put new fascia board on and they put all of the metal up and I asked them if they replaced the fascia board that is what I was charged for, he looks at it and said yes you were charged for it. They had to rip all the metal off of it and put new fascia board on. If I had not caught it, they would not have put new fascia board on. So basically, I had to babysit your people out here to make sure the job was done correctly. I still got charged every single bit of what I was supposed to be charged. I was not happy about that.
I would recommend the quality of the product - the salesperson seemed very knowledgeable, and I am convinced the product is good. The installation process was not enjoyable because of the lack of communication. I ended up with the entirety of the materials sitting on my front lawn for the week. I had to walk through a huge mess when I went to leave my house after the crew stopped on the first day because of the weather. The crew blew a breaker in my electrical box trying to hook up something to the power outside. The dumpster driver tore up the driveway, left a deep rut in the yard, and broke up a drainage pipe.
We absolutely recommend this company. Everything was done top-notch.
Never showed up the day of the appointment. No one ever called and we weren’t informed until I called the office. We were told project would be done in 1 day, it took 4.
Make sure to educate the representatives that comes out to present your product to the customer. I am very upset because I feel like I was taken advantage of due to lack of knowledge from the representatives. Don't offer a project your company can't do!
Absolutely not. Project manager lied to me, installed shingle where there should be flat roof, told me it was fine. It would have voided my warranty. He didn’t repair rafters that were part of the scope of the project. Rushed me through inspection, dismissed concerns i had. They had to send another project manager to correct it.
They have done a wonderful job from start to finish.
Not happy with the performance of Home Genius
They should check the price. I didn't get three bids like I normally do. The quality of work was excellent.
I thought they were professional and cleaned up well. I have children around, so that was perfect. They were on time. They came and did the job and it looks great. It was needed and I am very satisfied.
See below.
The salesman was absolutely tremendous in terms of explaining to us what we were getting involved with, and explaining the financing options that they had available. When there was a problem, the company stepped in and solved it immediately. They acted the way you would want the company to when they are working on a big project in your house.
We’ve got to know about Home Genius by Instagram and contacted through their add on a lazy Saturday morning. Before noon, we had an appointment scheduled. The gentleman that showed up was incredible well educated about Home exteriors (We were looking to upgrade / renew our siding) and his advice was spot on. We made a downpayment and schedule the beginning of the project to start 60 day later. At about 30 days, we got news that the materials were ready and that they can start earlier. The crew that came was spectacular. They showed up to work every day that week from sunrise to sunsets. They were done in 7 days. The job comprised 3 sides of the house and 3 bay windows using Hardie plank materials. They removed the old vinyl, and wrapped the walls with a Tyvek like product. They uncovered and replaced every single piece of wood that was or could be compromised, reframed the garage door and caulked all unions. My home became really silent. This siding was a real step up in insulation (Thermal and sound improved).
But the most important thing to remark about Home genius is their work ethics and the quality of work they did. They did a great job.
Overall I was not pleased with the experience. At the end of the day I am not worried about the workmanship, but I did not care for the high pressure sales process where we were told the only way to get the price quoted was to sign that day. It meant we moved quickly and some of the details we discussed during the sale got lost by the time the crew showed up.
I was delighted with their work. They were prompt, arrived when they said they would, and I'm very happy.
