Our experience with HistoryMaker Homes was honestly great from start to finish. One of the things that really stood out to us, was the attention to detail in the build. You can tell that they take pride in their work. The craftsmanship throughout the home is solid and the finishes were done really well. It didn’t feel rushed or “cookie-cutter”, like we’ve seen with other builders. Communication was a huge plus. From the very beginning, we felt like we were always kept in the loop. Any questions we had, were answered quickly and clearly, and we always knew what to expect at each stage of the process. That kind of consistency made a difference in reducing stress and building trust. Another thing that impressed us was the level of quality in the standard features and upgrades. A lot of what came included felt like something we would normally expect to pay extra for with other builders. They really went above and beyond, and it shows in the final product - our gorgeous home. The incentives they offer make the overall value even better. Contractors messy, been trying for over a month to have my warranty quality check completed but no one is showing up and I have nails falling out the ceiling, cracks everywhere and house ain’t even a year old

The rate is very high. The monthly payment is very high.

We begin our journey with history maker about a year ago, and we met with nobody being able to tell us anything, trying to look at advertised houses that did not exist, and a total lack of concern regarding that.

What they originally promised is not what they delivered on. When my realtor initially contacted me, their promotional offer which appealed to me was a 3.99% (FHA) interest rate plus closing costs. At a very short notice, I was asked to lock in this deal by paying the earnest money which I did.

But conversations around lending changed after that commitment. I was told I did not qualify for the FHA promotional offer and asked to put down a lot more money than originally planned as down payment towards a conventional loan. Closing costs absorption promise too was no longer on the table.

I had obtained a couple of lending pre-approvals prior to this but I could not utilise any of that as I was told i had to use HMH lenders. As a first time home buyer and a teacher with limited funds, there was no way I was going to risk losing my earnest money and pull out of negotiations.

We think our History Maker Home is a great investment for us My wife and I are both late in the fourth quarter of our lives so this home will be a good inheritance for our kids.

The quality of the homes appears to be good. Susan in the design office has been very helpful to my realtor and me.

I had an overall positive experience with HistoryMaker Homes. However, I did encounter an unusual situation with the sales agent. She asked me to provide the earnest money via check instead of following the standard wire transfer instructions. What made it more concerning was that she requested the earnest money before I had seen or signed the sales contract.

I pushed back and made it clear that I wouldn’t submit any funds until I had the opportunity to review and sign the contract. She eventually agreed, but as a result of her approach, my contract signing was delayed by an entire day. She explained that she preferred receiving a check just in case I changed my mind about the purchase — but I already knew this was the right home for me the moment I saw it.

Despite that hiccup, the builder was fantastic — incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout the process.

Outside of the earnest money issue and the resulting delay, I would still give the overall experience 5 stars. These are truly well-built homes, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I have clearly informed the selling agent with history maker that I am buying the home as an investment property because I can’t move into the house for the next 2 years. As per HOA rules, builder is not supposed to sell the house as an investment, but they did. The date HOA paper work was sent to me, that restriction was not listed. But they changed it within days time frame before I closed the house. When we reached out to the builder post selling the house, they are suggesting me to sell the house. Not taking ownership of what they did.

The process has been simple and transparent.
