Clean facility, lots of classes, professional instructors, wide variety of programs for all ages.
Everyone is kind and helpful. Lots of choices in activities.
Friendly staff, clean facility, modern equipment.
The staff sets the atmosphere as I enter. I usually arrive 5am so anyone friendly at that time are good people. Ashley & Chris always encourage me and invite me to the many events here. Thank you…
I have already recommend the volleyball program 11-14yrs to some of my daughters friends and now they have been playing together for 2 seasons! I think adding an additional practice throughout the week is going to help tremendously!
Nice workers clean facility. Good price good community center.
Adequate space and equipment for exercise class. Nice cardio n free weights area. Generally friendly helpful members. Decent ventilation system.
I am only using the Enhance program which is not really a part of the YMCA but is carried out there. I found it by accident on the original list I was given. The YMCA Staff have been super friendly, helpful and available to me anyway. I did not choose Enhance to get out of joining the Y but will recommend the Y and hoprbe a part of it always!
The experience has improved with teams a little better balanced; was happy to see Jon making sure the coaches were rotating the players last Friday (I noticed one coach only using her strong players while her inexperienced players sat on the bench in weeks prior to last Friday).
My family and I are so happy at the Y!
Business hours could be better. I am only using the Y as a gym and while opening hours are great Saturday and sunday are short. I understand if there is no traffic there is no need but maybe if it was open late youd get more gym business?
It’s a good deal for silver sneakers and I highly recommend it to them.
Palm Harbor has many yoga classes to choose from. Although I live much closer to the Trinity YMCA, I quit going to Trinity because they have few yoga classes, and the classes they do offer are not nearly as good.
I’ll highly recommended. Enviromental, facilities are very satisfactory.
The gym area is well equipped. The staff is always nearby and helpful. Even the temporary rest room and shower area are well maintained.
Variety of workouts. Nice clean facility. Nice workout equipment. Suggestion: I frequently like to do personal workouts on floor and standing. There is only one place I know of to do this-the small, awkward and uncomfortable room off the main workout room. The equipment I like to use (basic hand weights, stretch cords, etc) are all located in awkward locations just outside of this room. I wish there was a designated area of the larger workout room which was comfortable and not cramped where this could be done.
My favorite activity at the Y is the water aerobics class with Sandra. She is such a fun teacher and it’s a very enjoyable class. Near the end of the season we had several issues with sharing the pool that put a sour taste in my mouth. The children swim lessons seemed to take priority over the water aerobics class to the point that we were down to a postage stamp size of the pool. While trying to cohabitate with the swim lessons, the short, round, blonde swim lesson instructor (Michelle?) let us the group know that the swim lessons are paid for and they have priority. It was a very poor interaction and she was an embarrassment as representative of the Y. Things got better space wise toward the end of the season, but it made me not want to return since it’s a difficult activity to do in a cramped area. There were also a few instances of old men trying to use the family pool as a lap pool with no situational awareness. I felt the lifeguards should have said something instead of it being on the class participants.
Overall, I do enjoy the YMCA. Since water aerobics has ended, I’ve tried out a few other classes. I enjoy the LM offerings especially the vibes in the Tuesday body balance class.
There needs to be more Silver Sneaker classes. The ones that are already schedule are packed. I would like to go but they are so crowded and there's no room so I miss out. There could be an earlier one in the morning and then a late morning or noon class. Also there could be some group exercise classes on Sunday afternoon, like zumba or silver sneakers classes, or dance mix, boom move. The group exercise dance classes are great and well attended and it would be nice if there were more.
Classes are so fun because of the amazing instructors . There's also a wonderful sense of community. I attend at least 4 times weekly.
Great instructors and inviting place for workouts.
As a snow bird, the Palm Harbor Y has given me a sense of purpose and belonging. It’s difficult to leave my northern family and friends behind, but once I joined the Y at Palm Harbor, I feel at home again.
Especially like the pool
The Y has much to offer, and I did refer friends who ended up joining!
Love the Zumba classes
Lots of classes, pool, pickleball and fair weight room(could have more machines).
The silver Sneakers classes are very full and I recommended an x be put on the floor to allow people to put in a chair on that spot to allow people to have more room to move around. I have not seen this happen yet. They do this in St. Petersburg. YMCA
I attend a Silver Sneakers class about 2-3 times a week. I am 86 and have balance problems and neuropathy in my feet. This exercise class helps keep me walking with only occasional use of a walking stick. I love the friendship with other people, even if I don’t know their last names or where they live. I enjoy the regular teacher and the substitutes.
Need to put a time limit on the machines. People just sit there doing nothing and sometimes treadmills are all in use.
Great staff - everywhere. They are excited to see you and always ask - can I help you with anything? It lifts my spirits. That excitement makes me want to try hard to have a good workout and come back!
It's a great way to start my day! Ot has a great sense of community. The Y does many great things for all people.
Staff is friendly and welcoming.
THE "Y" HAS A VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. THE TRAINERS ARE EFFICIENT, COGNIZANT OF THE PARTICIPANTS' NEEDS AND ABILITIES, AND AND OFFER OPTIONS TO EACH EXERCISE . THE BATHROOMS ARE CLEAN AND WELL STOCKED. EXERCISE EQUIPMENT SUFFICIENT TO "TO GO AROUND"....AND KEPT IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. CUDOS TO THIS "Y"!
I was greeted by Cindy and given a tour of the Palm Harbor location. Cindy was very informative and welcoming. I truly appreciated her hospitality. Thank you Cindy.
One day during a lesson, the lifeguard ordered everyone to get out of the pool because a heavy rain was starting, which lasted more than 40 minutes. When I asked at reception if we could reschedule the lesson, they told me no. That only when lightning started would the lesson be canceled, and then we could reschedule it. So, was I supposed to leave my son in the pool and wait for lightning to strike him? Your policy definitely needs to be reviewed.
Katina is the best
Convenience to home, clean, friendly, many classes if want to participate and decent equipment for the size of the room.
As an adult tak
Pool area is fantastic. Please continue to heat it.
Pools so clean and love water aerobic classes
The Y is a great facility with friendly people. The exercise schedule is awful for older people that still work. Except for Saturday, the easier yoga classes are during the day. Stretching classes, during the day. Water aerobics, during the day. All classes I enjoy.
Also, the water aerobics in the family pool was jerked around all summer for swim lessons. We pay for our membership too. Couldn’t be moved to the dive well when family pool closed because “paying dive lessons “. We pay too.
I once wrote a recommendation. After that was when the Saturday yoga class was added. Tried to comment again later but was told they don’t take comments in writing anymore. It would be relayed to the proper person.
I have made friends and I love being a part of the friendship circle. It is refreshing being with such kind and caring people. When I first joined I was very shy and lonely. I was accepted immediately and it made me so happy to have such a community that was willing to support and share their time and togetherness with me. I truly enjoy my classes. We have so much fun and laugh and are getting such a benefit as seniors to help ourselfs stay strong and healthy. Thank you Palm Harbor YMCA💕
Well staffed, great trainers, class teachers. Top of the line equipment. All makes for an enjoyable workout week.
VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY STAFF.
Lots of Group class options which is what I enjoy.
Friendly staff. Clean, New equipment
Dues are too high for what is provided unless you use the pool. Hours are too short on the weekend.
The friendly staff and the casual atmosphere as soon as I enter the building. The classes that I'm taking are very beneficial and no pressure or judgement feelings.
A year ago, I would of give the YMCA a 9 or 10, I do feel though that in many ways, they are trying to attempt a different age group and type of member. They are looking for the younger, 25-40 year old members, rath
I love coming to the Y. It has great programs for people of all ages.
Love playing pickleball but lighting is terrible. With the time change, this means we will have very little time to play (we work full time jobs).
