We personally were not really happy with the sales guy, but the folks who came out to do the installation were great, and that’s why I’m giving them a five. It’s not new to the salespeople because I felt like he told us one thing, and it didn’t happen, so other people had to get involved. That was just too much for me because I shouldn’t have to chase somebody down to give them a bunch of money. But the workers and the people who came out to do the roof, oh absolutely.

Great Lakes home remodeling completed our roof in early September 2024. The whole process was super smooth. The guys who quoted our project spent a lot of time explaining everything about roofs to us. They do try really hard to get you to upgrade to the their metal roofing system. But it just didn’t make financial sense for us at the time. However we went with the fiber glass shingles and the new roof looks amazing. The installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. The job site manager walked us through the finished project when they were done. Kind and courteous and picked up after themselves. Very pleased. I would recommend them 100%

We are very happy with the results from our exterior renovation with Great Lakes Home Remodeling. From the initial phone call to book an appointment to the final results after installation and cleanup, the whole process ran smoothly and on time.
Choosing materials and finishes can be daunting. Eric is very knowledgeable and explained product features and options that helped us in our decision making process. He was very patient, spending a long evening as we explored various options. We were originally doing just siding and using another vendor for windows. We were so comfortable with Eric, that we decided to include window installation from GLHR.
Adam instilled total confidence that the work would be finished on time and with attention to detail. The initial walk around the house to discuss the process assured us that he had the knowledge, experience and focus to see that things were handled with care and excellence. Communication is key and Adam was always available to answer our questions. He also is very efficient at window installation.
The siding team paid great attention to detail and made sure the job was done right. It was a bit complicated. We had horizontal siding, board and batten and shake singles installed. There were some wood rot issues that they took care of and they worked into the evening to get the job completed in several days. The soffit and fascia they installed also looks beautiful. They are a very hard working team. (Also, the dumpster service they used, had the most friendly and considerate driver.)
We did a final walk around with Adam after the project was completed. A friendly call from Elizabeth at the GLHR office to make sure we were satisfied with the results was appreciated.
I have been recommending GLHR to anyone I know that may be considering an exterior home remodeling project.

I think the work was excellent, and I would definitely recommend them. The 4-star rating is because I think they could have condensed the 3-hour sales meeting into 30 minutes. I was already convinced to purchase, and it did not need to go on that long. That was the biggest issue. I would have also liked to have someone from the office follow up and give the work a once over within a day or two. I think that would show good customer care. Overall, I am happy with the house. It looks great, and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

It was not an easy experience to get all the details right. It started good. They were pushy. There was little communication after that. The installers came without notice. They could not speak English. We were promised issues that were not delivered. The gutters are still not right.

The only thing we did not like was when they were not going to show up that day, they never called. It was a rental property, and we wanted someone there.

The team was very friendly and well organized. Work well around our with kids we were babysitting. Removed one window at a time and installed new one with most of the work outside the house. Love the windows especially the two large ones that slide open. Everyone says how much it makes the house look bigger since it one window and not two. I would recommend these windows to anyone

Great Lakes was thoroughly professional in managing our roof installation and I highly recommend their roofing service.

I was not fond of the sales pitch, "sign now or we cannot get you this price", but the installation process was excellent! Since the windows were installed in late Nov. and it is still winter, I can't tell how I will like them yet.

Spent 2.5 hours with the sales rep. Installers were great. But, be sure to get what was promised before the installers have you sign the final agreement which the want you to sign before they leave.
