Foster Remodeling has far exceeded our highest expectations. We renovated our entire basement, our upstairs living area, and added porches, patios, and an accessible wheelchair ramp. Our designer--as well as the construction crew--listened to what we wanted and designed and built a space that fits our unique needs. Working with our designer was so easy--she carefully paced all the decisions we had to make and helped us understand and explore all our options. The team carefully considered and planned out every detail. The design and build were collaborative from start to finish; when the inevitable unforeseen issues arose, they provided us with options until we found a solution we were truly comfortable with--and the results were better than we originally planned. They worked around us--we lived and teleworked in the home the whole time (except when they warned us they were using a jackhammer), and they made sure it was not stressful. They spoiled our obnoxious puppy and were careful that he and the cat never snuck out of the house. The project manager organized everything behind the scenes so that the work never stopped--supplies were delivered when needed and we were never waiting for an inspector. They have electricians and plumbers on staff so the work proceeded smoothly. Every team member had a real passion for their job and was easy to work with, and it was clear they were committed to the company and the company took good care of them. Our carpenter worked on each aspect until he was fully satisfied with its quality--there is not a higher bar! The level of craftmanship and pride they take in their work is built into our dreamhouse, which is a more beautiful, comfortable, and livable space than we had imagined.

Our lead carpenter went over what was going to be done each day, made preparations so that the work did not interfere with what was going on in the rest of the house, and answered all our questions. He also made suggestions as we went along about things we had not through of, as well as constantly checking the contract with us to make sure everything was satisfactory. Jack is a gem.

Dust & Dirt Control - Absolutely! Jack put filters on return vents, as well as the "curtain" on the doorway to the basement for example.

Designer Knowledge

Designer Knowledge - Christ was fabulous from start to finish. He helped us achieve our goals in our project plus was most helpful in helping us select finishes-floor, paint, tile etc. He had lots of suggestions based on his experience-what worked and what was not as good. He really listened to what we wanted and made it happen. The project would not have turned out so well without Chris's input.

Value Received - The Foster estimate was not the lowest we had, however, the quality of the job to say nothing of the professionalism of the crew, made the cost absolutely acceptable. We received more than fair value for our money because of our experience with Foster people.

Professional & Organized - Everything was a very smooth process. I knew the timelines from the outset and they really didn't deviate except by a day or two. We were able to work around holidays, etc. All the supplies and equipment were in place on the days they needed them. I was very impressed by their professionalism throughout.

Budget - The budget was spot on! I have heard horror stories from others about costs running over, etc. but that was absolutely not an issue with Foster. In fact, I made some last minute changes on a few things that resulted in being credited back some money which I was then able to apply to some upgrades. They are very transparent, fair, and easy to work with on the budget.
