While we love our new home and neighborhood and have had great experience with Ashley, Laura (closing), Vitali and customer service so far, we are a little disappointed in the quality. There are many blemishes in the flooring, granite and paint. There are many areas of paint that are sloppy and some issues with the drywall as well. Our microwave has already malfunctioned. The shower in the common bathroom had very low pressure due to the plumbing tape blocking the spout which gives the impression that the plumber was a bit careless. The ground rod is a tripping hazard in the garage. There was a tick/bug issue. I don't know if because this was a model home it was built in a hurry with less concern for the details?

And our major concern is that the back hillside seems to be sliding. I worry that the back patio and even the master suite could eventually begin slipping as well.

From start to finish, Eddy Homes made the process of building seem easy. Their staff are always accessible and always friendly. Everyone truly works to make your home exactly what you want it to be.

We based our decision to build an Eddy home based on the models we visited that seemed to exhibit quality design and workmanship.

They were easy to communicate with. The process was very smooth.

The customer support is very poor. It was very difficult to talk to anyone about issues/changes. They force people to make selections quickly which led to some poor selections. There were multiple issues during construction. They were downplaying those issues and did not address some of the issues.

Overall, we are very pleased with our new home. Many individual parts in the Eddy Homes process exceeded and met our expectations and the people were a delight to work with. Our floorplan was somewhat custom and will be wonderful for us to grow as a family into. We did have challenges with some areas of the construction not meeting the expectations of what we achieved with our Eddy Homes sales and design partners. At times it felt that the right hand did not communicate to the left hand to understand our design and what we cared about most. Also, some of the individual components fell below expectations (i.e. Pella windows were incorrect and damaged) and are still unresolved by the vendors/subcontractors.

I am very unlikely to recommend Eddy Homes to a friend. They went from building actual luxury custom homes to being a glorified Ryan Homes. From my experience Eddy Homes' sales consultants, interior design consultants, engineering consultants, & project managers are never on the same page. The sales teams sells something that hasn't been checked engineering wise. The interior design consultants start the house with chrome fixtures immediately requiring you to pay for "higher end" packages so your house isn't dated upon completion. The engineering consultants set up the neighborhood in a way that doesn't align with standard engineering practices. Project managers take days to weeks to respond to inquires. The only way to be ok with how the company is run is to be completely unaware of any of things that go into building a home. Million dollar homes that come with 8' standard ceiling heights, chrome fixtures, plate glass mirrors in the bathrooms, shower surrounds in the bathrooms, no tray ceilings in the master bedroom, no windows in your master bathroom, no overhead lights in any of the bedrooms, no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms, third party low voltage wiring that costs several thousand dollars without any actual equipment, structural plans that have beams landing over door frames, electrical boxes obstructing driveways, and the list goes on and on. I strongly recommend reading the contract with a lawyer before signing it. There is a lot of language in the contract that absolves Eddy Homes of any issues that arise from their own lack of planning and if any changes occur as a result of their lack of planning you will be charged for it.

This was our first time building a house, and I expected the design process to be a lot more stressful than it actually was. The highly professional sales and design staff made this whole process easy and enjoyable. Everyone so far has been excellent to work with, and I am very pleased with the progress on our build. We are looking forward to seeing our finished product, but we know that the quality is going to be outstanding and that we are going to get exactly what we wanted.

Our house is currently in the mechanical installation phase. We found the sales team, settlement team, and project manager to be highly professional, friendly, and extremely responsive to our questions.

Overall Eddy Homes did a good job. We had some issues during the process, like the lots being measured incorrectly which forced us to switch lots. But once we resolved the issues we ended up with a very nice home.

Spread sheets for addendums were too hard to follow. Entirely too long for Eddy to get back to us on costs for pricing of upgrades with design.

Our home was built with NUMEROUS and SIGNIFICANT DEFECTS. Dealing with Eddy Homes and their vendors was a consistently bad experience. Some issues were not fixed properly after repeated visits. Some issues were not fixed at all and we paid for repairs on our own.

I could not be happier with the end result. John Moritz has a first-class organization. I am extremely happy with the design process and the counsel and support throughout the process. Eddy Homes has grown too fast and they don't have the processes or skilled workforce to build the number of homes their building every year. The owners of the company do not appear to be attentive to the client's needs.

Additional Comments - So far we have been impressed and pleased by the professionalism and organization of Eddy Homes as they have assisted us in this home buying process.

Just make sure time lines are addressed. Read contract thoroughly. And in retrospect we should not have closed before house was completed to our satisfaction. We spent extra money( > $5000) to complete things so our parents could move in.

We purchased a "Spec" Home from Eddy Homes, therefore we did not pick out any options with a sales manager or design manager but everything that came with the house was perfect. My wife and I got to see the options for our home at the Eddy Home Display center in McMurray and my wife liked each option that the designers picked for our home. Also our realtor, Linda was very helpful in getting things done at our new home.
